I've been watching your videos for a few days now. I really enjoy them and appreciate what you do. I live close to Altoona, closer to Huntingdon & Raystown Lake. If you ever make it out my way, I'd be glad to show you some cool stuff.

This was an interesting video. I'll have to watch the others in this series... Like you said in the video, we don't hear a lot about the impact of the Civil War on Pennsylvania.

What are the chances of me personally inviting you to tour the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg with me. I attended the Grand Opening Gala and I am registered on the Guest List. I was also friends with Mayor Stephen Reed, Harrisburg's Mayor at the time and primary founder of the museum. I have always been interested in the Civil War and I have a pic of me around 10 years old in Gettysburg standing between a union and confederate re-enactor in 1963 ... with a 56 chevy parked in the background. - Many years later I was able to remove the car with photoshop and cloned it to death with surrounding green grass. lol - I also contributed several pages from a Harrisburg newspaper to the museum which was printed over the July 4th Holiday in 1938 covering the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the reunion of soilders from the North and South now shaking hands and telling stories. I enjoyed all of your coverage of the Confederate camp sight along the Silver Spring (behind Bast Buy lol), and the Peace Church, and the Battle of Sporting Hill and the Eberly Barn, etc., and I personally visited all of thoise sights after seeing your videos. Thank you! I hope to hear from you and join you in a new Wandering Woodsman Video here at the Harrisburg Civil War Museum (which is on the highest ground in all of Harrisburg City) and also visit the nearby Camp Curtain as well. This is where Tens of Thousands of Union Soilders from all over the Northern States were sent to Harrisburg to get guns, uniforms, equipment and training. There is a farmers market near the camp that still exists today that helped in the feeding of union soilders (perhaps a hangout for some soilders looking to pass the time before being deployed) and the market continues to be open with area farmers and vedors selling fresh meats and produce to Harrisburg area families today. - You can also find me on UA-cam with commercials and videos that I have made as the Founder and CEO of a Centeral Pennsylvania based Advertising and PR Agency called: "JIM STARR ADVERTISING and VIDEO" I hope to hear from you soon. TTYL 🤩

Great video, thanks. Looked like a really glorious day there too. It's such a beautiful spot there now, but back in the day - not so much (going by the little bit I've read about that era in that area). Thanks for sharing. Cheers! Edited to add that I just read that Oyster's Point was named after the Oyster's Hotel (Tavern?) that was built by Abraham Oyster. The following link is to an online version of one of the books recommended by The Wandering Woodsman called The Confederate Approach on Harrisburg: The Gettysburg Campaign's Northernmost Reaches by Cooper H Wingert (it links to Chapter 5 - Preparations at Oyster's Point, but you can scroll up to the beginning) I don't know how long the link will work as I think it's just a review site - books.google.com.au/books?id=epl2CQAAQBAJ&pg=PT68&lpg=PT68&dq=Abraham+Oyster&source=bl&ots=Jy4Fn0FFK4&sig=Ari7gc-OZE0ZBFnwreOAxn3VPBY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiU_M_Xi-fTAhVLI5QKHVTwCP4Q6AEIiAEwFw
