"Basically, the culprit is that America wants to make a mess of Russia, ultimately with the help of NATO, which America is hoping for. Dubbed the global 'protective power', this killer organization is designed to protect its member states. In reality, however, this is an international army of murderers, made up of soldiers, adventurers and professional assassins from a wide variety of countries. Both sides, Ukraine and Russia, are committing many egregious war crimes, but the Ukrainians are worse because they simply murder their own military if they are pro-Russian, just as they not only rape their own women, but then shoot them for these outrages blaming the Russians, as I saw myself with Bermunda. War is just dirty, mean and criminal, and the military are nothing but murderers, even if they do it all of a war as national defense. Killing is always murder, one way or the other, and it doesn't matter what it's called, whether it's the death penalty or self-defense in war and the like. But what I still want to say is that in various armies not all military leaders agree with the military leadership and the state government with everything that is done and dealt with and that is usually only secret service, political or partisan ploy."

It is over. You simply don't understand our battle strategy. And by that I don't mean anything unique to Ukraine. I mean that Russia is using the same time old tactic it always has. Because it works, especially in dug-out style grinding wars.
The end is unpredictable because the support of foreign powers has been and the logistics on the ground aren't cast in stone. Doesn't make him out by all that much.
Whats sad is that many have supported Zelenskyy; a man who was happy to laugh at the Azov brutality. Silencing disagreement. In effect much of the elements of actual fascism. Yet somehow, despite people knowing Russian history against that ideology -- you were all too ready to swallow the bullshit of a US created actor.
Although I admittedly have my bias -- what stands out to me was that months ago, I said the same thing to a US defector. Airborne. He said to me, why are you so sure. And I pointed to Afghanistan. Syria. Palestine. And what do we see? That when people aren't being puppetted by the CIA and whoever else -- almost nobody has anything good to say about American foreign policy. So why would this be any different.
America has a habit of telling one side of a story. Even if people didn't want to believe us because they hate all Russians and Chinese and believe everything is 'putin lies' -- they can all go to Patrick Lancaster's channel on UA-cam. Not to believe him; just to see the date of his videos and interviews.
From there they will soon see how old they are. And how long ago these events really began. They will start to see the cracks in what Zelenskyy and Biden told people. They will follow to other links where the Azov say themselves 'we hate Russians yeah.... and the 'Jews''.
And suddenly everything looks rather different. Not everyone in Ukraine is a Bandera flag waving Azov Nazi. But many of them are. And it's enough to create a ideological stain on the battlefield.
You act like Russians aren't human beings. Everyone is an individual. When you are a Russian soldier watching the news. Maybe you aren't sure either. Until you drive into Bakhmut, Soledar or otherwise. See the executed people. Sometimes fellow Ukrainians who tried to run. You see the families, non-military' executed and swinging by their necks from trees.
And what do you learn? That its not one sided. A very far cry from 'hate all Russians'.
There is enough footage out there now, to prove American shadows and NATO provoked this war on purpose. Lets hope the American people force the truth out of them before another war begins.

It is just an absurd argument since the reality is language does not determine the validity of sovereign country. If it did then India would be part of the UK because more people speak English in India than there are English speakers in the UK and New Zeeland would be part of the UK because the almost exclusively speak English in New Zealand. From the very first day it was clear that it was interest, neither democracy, nor international principles that motivated western involvement to War in Ukraine. In fact American position itself was a passive reason for war. USA was actually the only actor who was able to prevent it. Russia has solid reasons to invade Ukraine, and Ukraine has solid reasons to defend itself. USA, has no reason not to provide guarantees Russia was looking for, UNLESS USA has an expansionist program via NATO.
Now, for any American citizen, the question is "did it worth to take the risk of nuclear war, breaking the bones of European allies, at cost of destruction of Ukrainean infrastructure, millions of refugees, a very doubtful, unsustainable, and expensive success to push and expand NATO borders into Russian influence area?"
The goal was Ukraine's integration to western capitalism. Ukraine's prize would be western investment and NATO protection, the cost to USA was financing the war, and American interest was poasible disintegration of Russian Federation.

I’ve been saying this for YEARS! And I’m not even in the armed forces, nor am I an intel agent apart of the American security apparatus. Historically, we know China and Russia have had their own issues against each other, but the one thing that will unite them is western aggression & encroachment, along with irredentist aspirations of both nations as to Taiwan and former USSR republics whereby NATO troops or weapons are stationed. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, and do not be surprised if many other Asian, African & Latin American countries join that team. Our aggression will help build a formidable alliance, and it all boils down to the game of Israel.
Russia did everything possible to connect with us in the west, our political class simply rejected the move. Xi and Putin have come to common goals, common needs, and both having been rebuffed without respect. Maybe somebody can help me understand something about NATO. I looked at Article 5 and it defines that every member nation must respond in some way to an invasion. This response is not clearly defined. For example, sending a couple thousand assault rifles in response, this would be totally valid.

The problem with officially catching Bakhmut, is that the situation is somewhat similar to catching Azovstahl - there are huge underground facilities, belonging to the largest vine/champagne factory, which BTW belongs to Mrs Marina Poroshenko, the former First lady of Ukraine. So the city may well be liberated by the Russians, but for the Ukraine's fighters, hiding underground.
I agree with Col MacGregor. The objective is to 'grind' the Ukrainian forces down, not necessarily take more ground.
Gaining grounds forces the opponent to keep coming at you. So you can grind them down.

Obviously Mr Ritter is not an expert on the Russian Civil War and others. Firstly Russia DID NOT let Finnland go a bloody Civil War was fought between the Reds supported by Russia and the Whites (who won) led by Mannerheim who was a former General in the czars army. Secondly while it is true that the Finns joined in the continuation war with the nazis they stopped far short of lennigrad much to the consternation of Hitler. If they would have closed the gap lennigrad would have fallen but as a credit to their wisdom it was not in their strategic goals. Finland was the only power that joined the axis that avoided occupation due to the west's sympathy of them being more of a victim and stalins focus on more valuable targets further south..Stalin accepted a neutral finnland as a compromise since a prolonged war may have weakened his forces for goals that were far from the prime objective Berlin.
Thanks to Ukrainians russia need to create a new army first. Northern russian military bases are almost empty it can be seen in satellite images. The units, tanks and vehicles have been sent to Ukraine and most of them have already been destroyed or captured. russian BTR-50 vehicles (1954 ), T-54, T-55 (1948) and T-62 (1961) have been seen at the front, doesn't look good for russia.

I made a comment about this too. Finland's war time strength was half a million in early 2000. And there is still about a million trained man reserve, massive cache of weapons and hundreds of millions ammo for assault rifles, huge artillery. Finland's military was built to resist invasion by the Soviet Union (bigger than Russia) or the USA. Sure, Russia could get over 2 million men attack Finland (and that's what would be needed at least), but the doctrine of Finland was that attacking Finland is not worth it.
I think they reduced Finland's war time strength to add insecurities. They wanted NATO option to become more popular, and cutting defence was seen a way.

The Baltic Sea is already enclosed - St Petersburg at one end - The main artery for commerce and their population of Russia is the Volga- Don - Sea of Azov- Black Sea to Istanbul. It has always been a historical weakness - That Russia is essentially land locked in the winter. People in the West have basic misunderstood the sensitivity of that route for Russia- It is an existential threat to have an aggressive Ukraine near the Sea of Azov and the port of Rostov on Don.

The Iran-Iraq conflict lasted years and killed upwards of 1.1 million people with a war zone of a smaller size.
Much of the deaths in WW1 were in a "small" area and 6,000 troopers died per day in that conflict.
It's just mind boggling to the U.S. that England, France, Germany, Russia and Japan each lost more troops in the two World Wars than the U.S. lost in every conflict it has ever been in. Loosing 100,000+ troops a year is just a common way of fighting outside the U.S.

Sometimes battle history repeats itself.. but just as often new battles create new history. Things are never static in historical terms, even when repeating the old 100 times, a new thing comes up and changes how we construct and understand history. Of course there is little bit of Bakhmut left to fighting. As most reliable sources agree, Wagner has got full control of 80% of the town, Zelensky has about 4% actual control of the last west bit, and the other 16% is under contest. However, it's now very difficult for Zelensky to get in heavier weapons and ammo, as the Russian artillery keeps pounding all paths to his troops. We think that the present situation suits the Russian forces better, as for them un military aims it's more important to have Zelensky troops cornered and pounded to death, everyday destroying the opposition's side ability to fight further down the road. For Russia this is a long term fight. It isn't simply to defeat Zelensky's regime..but much more importantly, to change the status quo at the top of the world...and that's a long term project for Russia and China, combined in number of ways and in number of different battles around the world. Ie. Syria, Taiwan, Africa, Latin America, etc. Ukraine is at the top of the list, for now..and more so for the west, as western politicians and Propaganda have said so many outrageous things, which actually describes the amount of western pain, out of the Ukrainian defeat..5 New Russian Federation republics. That's leaving many Cold War fanatics in the west, to loose much sleep at night. And they are now in stuck.. can't talk peace, nor can they win on the battlefields of Ukraine. That's truely stuck, upto the neck, into concrete... it's when the brain refuses to function any longer.
