Mr. Ritter seems to be astonishingly informed on a broad set of matters, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around "Russia is an extremely transparent society." I've heard the phone calls between Ukrainian/Russian family members. Also, while Russia's economic independence has concerned me since we began sanctions, I dont see how Russia is considered an economy "on the rise." What about their demographical concerns? To clarify- aren't they facing an aging society?

Another important issue in this conflict is that Russia has bombed itself at least 50 years back in time, remember that in Finland the Finnish winter war is being talked about as if it were yesterday and I think that there will be no difference in this war. A non nuclear country can not win a nuclear superpower. Anyone can make mistakes, I’m sure Scott Ritter knows this better than most. He is however mistaken about the quality of Ukranian pilots and their ability to overcome muscle memory issues after being retrained to fly another type of aircraft. I started flying flexwing aircraft and later retrained to fly three axis which is basically totally reverse controls. Over a twenty year period I have encountered quite a few tight squeezes and never once reverted to type. There is a lot to be said for determination, just think back to the Tuskegee Airmen. They were not taken seriously at first, denied access to Mustangs because they weren’t deemed intelligent enough to operate them. Think back to the Polish pilots who escaped to Britain just to fight Germans. Again it was difficult for them to get a seat in a Spitfire. What happened, both these examples went on to accumulate far greater kills than their counterparts. Please don’t underestimate the determination and skill of Ukranian pilots.

I tend to agree. People simply underestimate Russia's willingness to throw away its soldiers lives. In the West, losing 3,000 soldiers is a big deal. Russia will cope 10x that. It doesn't matter if you're losing 3x the soldiers if you're willing to lose 10x as many. Eventually, you'll win. It's simply Russia's method of operation. Throw people at the problem until it goes away. And for Russia that strategy usually works.

I always love interviews with Scott Ritter and I've seen quite a few. I'm not a military man so I'm not sure if its rule number 1 or not but its definitely right up there on clever strategy list, CHOOSE YOUR BATTLEFIELD to give you the greatest possible advantage. If the US and collective West had any regard for this vital rule of war then the war in Ukraine would not have happened. It's so advantageous to Russia to fight NATO in Ukraine yet the US chose this battleground. If they can't even get that right then how can they pretend to be even remotely proficient at any aspect of strategy in such a complex battlefield. Until now the total imbalance of military power of US has probably hidden the fact that they had military success simply through brute force without really needing to take strategy or tactics into account. They haven't thought through any of the wars they have waged over the years and have therefore been able to learn nothing from them. That's why tactically Ukraine and NATO are being totally outplayed by Russia and this will only become apparent to the fools in the West when Ukraine finally does capitulate. Then they will just say look how long it took for Russia to do it ignoring the fact that it really doesn't matter how long it took as long as the sought after result is accomplished. Russia is disarming not only Ukraine but also NATO in this war and they are doing it a lot more easily in battlefield Ukraine than they would have been able to do in a country further from the Russian border. Did you fact check any of the claims in this video? I have to tell you there's a lot of things that are out of place and can't be backed up at all. For example how many countries support Russia and how many casulties Russia suffered in Bahmut. #CurrentInformation / facts The Polish Mig 29 are not operational and can only be used as spare parts for the Mig 29 of the existing Ukrainian fleet. So it doesn't matter if Western technology is installed in the 4 Migs, because these 4 Migs will never fly again anyway. That being said, the Mig 29 is still a very capable jet today if used well and to its advantage. Additional info: Zelenski said just today that he has to postpone the offensive as Ukraine lacks enough tanks. But this also means that if Ukraine is no longer able to lead an offensive, the West will also say, you know what the support no longer makes sense, you should now try to negotiate peace, because we are not feeding the insatiable cow. I think Ukraine has already lost this war, and for Russia it has also been a great loss of human life so far. We're pretty sure we're talking about almost 200,000 permanent failures, meaning dead, missing or maimed. Ukraine's losses are probably a little lower, but still too high, because Ukraine has far fewer inhabitants than Russia and is slowly running out of fresh soldiers.

Also, while Russia's economic independence has concerned me since we began sanctions, I dont see how Russia is considered an economy "on the rise." What about their demographical concerns? To clarify- aren't they facing an aging society?

Anyone can make mistakes, I’m sure Scott Ritter knows this better than most.
He is however mistaken about the quality of Ukranian pilots and their ability to overcome muscle memory issues after being retrained to fly another type of aircraft.
I started flying flexwing aircraft and later retrained to fly three axis which is basically totally reverse controls. Over a twenty year period I have encountered quite a few tight squeezes and never once reverted to type.
There is a lot to be said for determination, just think back to the Tuskegee Airmen. They were not taken seriously at first, denied access to Mustangs because they weren’t deemed intelligent enough to operate them. Think back to the Polish pilots who escaped to Britain just to fight Germans. Again it was difficult for them to get a seat in a Spitfire.
What happened, both these examples went on to accumulate far greater kills than their counterparts.
Please don’t underestimate the determination and skill of Ukranian pilots.

I always love interviews with Scott Ritter and I've seen quite a few. I'm not a military man so I'm not sure if its rule number 1 or not but its definitely right up there on clever strategy list, CHOOSE YOUR BATTLEFIELD to give you the greatest possible advantage. If the US and collective West had any regard for this vital rule of war then the war in Ukraine would not have happened. It's so advantageous to Russia to fight NATO in Ukraine yet the US chose this battleground. If they can't even get that right then how can they pretend to be even remotely proficient at any aspect of strategy in such a complex battlefield. Until now the total imbalance of military power of US has probably hidden the fact that they had military success simply through brute force without really needing to take strategy or tactics into account. They haven't thought through any of the wars they have waged over the years and have therefore been able to learn nothing from them. That's why tactically Ukraine and NATO are being totally outplayed by Russia and this will only become apparent to the fools in the West when Ukraine finally does capitulate. Then they will just say look how long it took for Russia to do it ignoring the fact that it really doesn't matter how long it took as long as the sought after result is accomplished. Speaking of advisors; Scott was the U.N. inspector in the 90's in Iraq where it was his team that concluded Hussein did not have WMD's. I saw a video of Scott in a Senate hearing prior to our invasion of Iraq where then Senator Biden basically read him the riot act and obnoxiously made a prick out of him because the arrogant Biden didn't like what Ritter was reporting. That's our chief executive now.
That incident was fundamental in Scott's decision to resign. You should hear him explain what he went through because he didn't cave to lie about his findings. And as a result the FBI harassed him for years to try to completely ruin him. You should hear the story he told.

The madness of living dangerously, of taking risks at all levels and of deregulating everything shows that we're in a different frame of mind from the '80s.
We as humanity should collectively demonstrate to bring this madness to an end. Just think of the widows and orphans who will eventually realise that there love ones are not going to return home. The US with its bully boy tactics has influenced Zelensky that we support Ukraine to the end but in reality Ukraine will be destroyed if no peace accord is forthcoming.
