Hey I met him on zoom for a masterclass today! I always go to his house because I take regular classes with his mom. I even won an award 🥇 for the best played or something ( all the other students of his mom were there)
I think his performance was much better at the Chopin Competiton, from 5 years ago. For instance, one can compare his performace of Op10. No. 7 between this and from five years ago. He also looks more tense, with his body very close to the keyboard, and the low head positions. It's best for him to take few years just to concentrate on the music, less on compeitions and fame.
@@musicfan3609 Yeah, it was still a nice performance with a much wider challenge in repertoire than those pieces he played at Chopin Competition, but he looked really stressed here for some reason. You can even tell by the increase in acne on his face... it's a pity because he's seems so talented, so I really wish him well.
@@SunnyMiracle1998 who knows, maybe his elimination in the 1st round of the China competition just before this affected his confidence? I think he played great in China, surprising he didn't progress to next round there
I believe the last I heard Tony play was at the Cliburn Junior. He was great then and he is even greater now. Great playing Tony!

Amazing you're so lucky to have a masterclass from Tony! What piece did you play?
This is the rarest piano i have seen in the Tchaikovsky competition. The Yamaha CFX.

I do tend to agree. Still liked his performance here a lot, but yes he does seem a bit tense
