Would this be similar for Can Am Defender? We just bought a 2018 with the third seat if you lift up the console. We have to do something like this because it's horrendously hot.
Hi flyingbrian, thanjs by the way for the indepth video. I received my thermal-tec wrsp and header wrap today. I gotbthe panels all covered, I dont plan on doing the clutch cover. I also added a large piece to the lower leg panel on the drivers side with out removing that panel. Did you tahe your pioes off to wrap those and how is the wrap holding up on the pipes?
Hi Bryan, our 2011 Can-Am Commander 1000x has foam padding on some of the areas where we want to apply the ThermoTec, like the on underside of the shifter/cup holder piece and on the pieces that are next to our knees. Do we install the ThermoTec over the foam padding? Or do we need to remove the foam padding, then install the ThermoTec, and then use adhesive to re-stick the padding on top of the ThermoTec? Or, do we take out the foam padding and just leave it out? Thanks for your help!
I bought a 2013 Can-Am Commander 80XT in march this year, and didn't start riding it until the end of May, I took My wife for a ride about 60 miles round trip, we were both sweating profusely in side that cab, I am going to to try this stuff, the heat this machine generates around my right leg , right where the pipe comes out of the engine and snake up and out the back is just insane! it can't hurt so, I will try it.
I did install it. Been on for a year now. I put it on every panel I could. It helped a lot with the heat. The cab noice was improved up to about 50km/h. It’s held up very good. Had panels off for maintenance and everything is still stuck perfectly. It was time consuming to install but definitely worth it.

I put it on and called thermotec and asked how close I could put it by exhaust and I told him what I was doing with it. He told me to peel it off because it would melt all the black stuff and get all over my engine. So I peeled it off and got the stuff that thermotec recommended. Works great for heat. I have the titetops center console cover as well. It works awesome
I would think good if you give it some time to cook on over a few rides. I only get my Can Am wet when it gets washed for the most part so can't really say.
