    I've never seen such a windy day in an Louisiana August day. I'm jealous.

      I assume the wind was kicking up in the video? HaHa, I can't remember all of them.

    I live in Houston so I think we are in the same zone. I bought some Anasazi beans so glad to know I can grow them here I got them because I liked the history.

    Live near Arcadia and just found your channel. So happy I did. The way you film your videos and your video descriptions are exactly what I think beginners like me need. Thank you

    I live in north Florida and your channel is a great find for me as most florida gardening channels are for south or central Florida, not in the same zone as I am in. You really have great information especially varieties. I really liked your video on squash vine borers. I’m technically the very base of zone 8b.

    I am in NE Texas & my grow zone used to be 8b but they recently changed grow zones & now they are say my zone is 9a. Not sure if that makes much difference. I think in general Texas is a lot drier than Louisiana but this yr 2024 has been very wet. i am thinking it all will make for an earlier first frost this yr. I am trying to get my fall garden organized/planted eariler this year. Usually we don't plant till the end of August cuz its normally so hot & dry in August here.

      I don't think 8b vs 9a really makes much difference, maybe a week difference when it comes to first and last frost and all that. Plant and grow your vegetables like you have been doing and you'll be okay. I'm pulling a lot of my plants out as they are no longer producing in the drastic heat we are having. Garden on and thanks for the comment. Thanks!!

    I’m local in Saint Amant, Louisiana, I stopped by my Farm and home store and picked up a few plants today 9/23/2023. I got several cabbage, romaine lettuce, round white squash, carrots and celery. I have seed I’m planting also but was trying to give myself a head start. I hope I’m not planting too soon. Any advice is appreciated. I’m using five gallon buckets and grow bags.

      That is awesome! Everything sounds good. Hopefully, you have time to harvest some squash before we get the first freeze. Thanks for watching!!!

    Have you grown Lima beans?

    • @LouisianaSimpleLiving
      @LouisianaSimpleLiving  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I've grown Alabama Black-eyed Butter Beans which is a lima bean but not quite as large. They grow great here in Zone 9A.

      I'm also in 9a and have baby Lima's still on plant, when do I remove the pods?? Please and thank you

    • @LouisianaSimpleLiving
      @LouisianaSimpleLiving  2 роки тому +1

      I personally let them dry on the vine and then I can keep them and cook them when I'm ready. The skin of the pod will dry up and become "crispy" when you can pull them for dried beans. Thanks again for checking out the channel!!

    I noticed that when you're naming off of vegetables, that you're giving the breed or type it is. is it possible to grow a different breed of these vegetables or does it have to be specifically these ?

    • @LouisianaSimpleLiving
      @LouisianaSimpleLiving  3 місяці тому

      It very much can be a different type of turnip, cabbage, tomato, or whatever you want to plant in your garden. I just mention what I'm specifically planting but it can pretty much be any type of that vegetable that can be planted during the same timing. Great question!!
