You can thank Shant from Bells and Vaughns Collision Center for taking this craigslist find 1962 Volvo Amazon(122) and completely rebuilding into the radical machine you see here. It weighs nothing, has all the torque and provides all the fun, enjoy!

All wagons are sleepers. Its the best. My sister rolls a e63 amg with straight pipes. You should see prius owners when she starts it.

As a former Volvo employee...can you confirm for me that the first 2 door Amazon (122S as we know them) came out in 1965? At least over here in the USA, the 2 door and 5 door came out in '65.

@John Daley really up to opinion. All have very similar drivetrains
@John Daley 740/940 comes with the same redblock 165hp turbo engine, but the later model 940 comes with the stronger diff and M90 gearbox.
I prefer the more classic look of the 240 but the 740/940 has a more boxy and raw look.
Growing up in the Finnish car scene means i have seen about everything that can be done with these and i still think this is my favourite one

Fun fact, Volvo used to have a factory in Nova Scotia and they built some of these cars there. They came with limited slip diffs from that factory along with a few other differences.

I have a 1970 Volvo 145s (wagon) and same story didn't know anything thing about the car till i bought it. old Volvo's need to get some more love, they are such good cars.

When I was I kid some people still drove these on Swedish roads but they did not look as rad as that one. Very cool build.

Defo a nice sleeper!! I know a boy that's got something that looks very similar but without the boot with a V6 under the bonnet it's a 1950 60s british thing and I can tell you it goes well-its a strange feeling having all the old boys egg'n you on when it's an old vehicle 👍

There are still quite a few of these on the road here in Switzerland, as they were ubiquitous police cars until the '80s. Mostly modern Volvo turbo i5 swaps.
But this is one of the nicest I've ever seen.

seen q few in the rally scean but my favourite is guy Martins (famous TT racer, and uk tv show extraordinaire) volvo VOX amazon estate (station wagon) was at sema in 2006, 2.4lt 5 cylinder volvo engine from a T5 over 1000hp. Look it up its beautiful 😍.
