100% agreed. Germany ended all its local energy production on the assumption that it would never be forced to choose between the US and Russia/China. I can think of a more egregious error this century.

Germany does not have the independence to have a friendly relationship with Russia. This is the root cause.
Indeed, Germans have to understand where their right place is: under the command of the US.
