- G’day, my final project for the year and it is my biggest yet. A kitchen Island bench with overhand for seating. It is all pallet wood, I have used my brick method to create the feature top and side, that has the interlocking edge pieces or giant box joint if you will? It’s been fun, I’ve have tried new things and learnt a lot.
I have also added some links for more Aussie makers down below. Go check them out and throw some support their way 🤙

WOW, I don't know what's more astonishing, the fact you broke down 19 pallets and de-nailed them all. Or this build itself. Very good job mate. Hello from 🏴
I think you do amazing work. Keep it up
oh man you so modest. You got some skill.
Fantastic! And now I want a new island. LOL!
In from the uk and love your stuff 👍
The way you joined the corner was sweet!
Pallet Punter haha all good man, there’s too many good Aussie makers to remember them all!
Dude you went from 14k subs to 135k in the year-ish since I commented on this video
Had a video find lots of people 🙏
I really like your creativity with recycled timber Mark. Good on ya M8!
@@dainermade - I drove by one of our local "big box" stores earlier today. In the alley, were dozens & dozens of pallets, many of them fairly new, and many others in various stages of over-use. Unfortunately, there was no one working outside, and I had to get across town for a doctor's appointment. Tomorrow, I'll go back by and see if that mountain of pallets is still there, and ask them if any are available for the taking!
No Such Luck.
Good God! That's one heavy piece! Cheers.
Dude that's gorgeous!
Love the jackassery while using the plainer. We’ve all been there, just not recorded. 🤣✌️
Really enjoyed this build Mark, the backing track was the perfect choice and having you keep a running tab of how many pallets are required to make a table of this size and quality is also really great. I know first hand how much work goes into anything made from pallet wood so appreciate the fantastic result you create at the end 👍
Brilliant
I don't know you give me new faith in woodworking most people would be out of their minds to watch you work but I think it's great it's wonderful thanks for the tips
🤔 mmmm is that a back handed compliment?
You are a true wood artist! While I could never take on this projects because I know I'd never finish it!- it was terrific watching you work, thanks very much!
What a beautiful kitchen island.. Loved watching your video. 👍👍
I love the no nonsense approach mate and the fact everything still turns out stunning. 😊
I love your work, your sense of humor and the fantastic results of your artistry in wood. Beautiful and functional. Enjoy your videos very much
Was looking at your current work since recently and this one came by. Love it! Music choice is really awesome man. And beautiful work. Thank you for the inspiration from The Netherlands!
Hi Mark,
I no longer are watching these videos with interest, I’m now addicted to these outstanding videos. I still can’t believe you can just saw these and glue them together.
That table is pure awesomeness
Mate! You have outdone yourself! Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous!
I'm not fixit fingers, but you got it right, it's resawing!
@@dainermade don't worry I'm a slow learner too!!
Nice job someone has a great kitchen island in their kitchen
Beautiful job man! Love your shirt too m8! My son wants a DeLorean lol..... he's a big Back to the Future fan, and my best helper too of course...... I can see us doing a build like this in the future
Very Nice! Cool. Great Job!👌👍💪
craftman respect
Great build, thank you
Thats awesome, great job.
@@dainermade your videos has inspired me to pick up a new hobby using pallets.
Not only it is a great table but I love the name. Great work.
That was satisfying to watch.. Lov the brick layout .
yes i realize this
Love ur videos... Cheers from Portugal!
That was so therapeutic. Thanks Watching from.UK. What a lovely work of art. Lots of pallets but so worth it. 🤔 I have three pallets guess its a small project then.... am telling myself if I keep watching your videos I am busy working on the wood that may one day see the light of day 😃.
This is amazing
Hi mark my name is Albert and I started watching your Chanel and have really appreciated your guidance and suggestions. It has helped me to define and refine my artistic wood work, making coffee tables and end tables. Keep it going.!
Incredible technic experience
Another great video mate!!!!
You had great maker channel reccomendations at the end as well. I am already following them all!
hard work is why it looks great. 👍
Awesome, mate
Resaw usage - 👍🍻🎉 Rabbet usage - 😒🐇👎😋 - Another one I have been guilty of thanks to WWMM. Those were an awesome idea, they look great, but Vic would back me up that in Aus/Brit English it's 'rebate', a rabbet is the American version. (Not like I can talk, I correctly have been pulled up using 'lumber' recently which again doesn't mean wood unless you are in the States). Thanks for another shoutout, that thing is a beast. Get some photos up on insta of it in it's new home if you can!
@@dainermade Bugger! 🤣You'll have to go visit and detach the base. BEst laid plans etc etc. Oh I like the tools list in the description too, great idea. If any items are on Amazon I think you can set up personal links where you get a kickback if someone clicks and buys it. No cost to the buyer. Every dollar helps.
@@dainermade the good sort of kickback... not the cranky tablesaw love to the face sort.
Love Love Love this. I used pallet Wood whenever I can. I love that you used them to make this. So much work but so worth it.
seriously could not follow the process but stunning island top mate. so resourceful
It’s ok we know your doing The Timewarp it’s a jump to the left and a step to the right
AMAZING: Simply beautiful! 😎👍🏾
Lovely build mate 👍🏼
Just found the channel. This piece is awesome man! Killer work. Could only imagine breaking down 19 pallets. End result was well worth it. Looking forward to watching more projects.
Just found your channel through fb and have a hard time understanding how you only have 14k subscribers. Really enjoying your videos
Hello I’m from the United States love the videos Beautiful work! Just recently discovered your channel on UA-cam.
that was amazingly beautiful.
Another great piece, great work!
I bumped in to Robin Lewis today and he put me on to your channel, I really like your stuff and the style of presentation. I subscribed. Townsville seems to be punching well above its weight in woodworking vids.
As others have said the vids you’re posting are real, almost like it could be my workshop, that’s the connection for me.
Very impressive.
Just wonderful keep making this magnificent video I love it
I absolutely NEED that DeLorean shirt! Is it still around the wild these 5 years later?
Absolutely gorgeous! I was youtubing today to find a nice pallet table DIY video. This one is amazing! But I realized shortly into the video I dont have nearly enough wood or tools to replicate it. So after that... I stayed for the accent 🤣💖
Great job! Im happy to subscribe to this channel.
Only 211 vids to go! ☺
very good job !!!
Love your stuff! I think you need to invest in an Air Locker AP700 Nailer/Nail Remover. It would make your life much easier.
Love this! Great job!
Woow this one is a beast! Very nice design and was interesting to see how from tiny slats came this beautiful kitchen island. How's it holding up after 3 years? I was wondering if it would be worth coating also the underside to reduce wood warping?
Mate, love this build! I was excited when i saw it at the start but to then get a shoutout at the end, thank you very, very much. I love your work and your channel. Keep it up mate, if you're ever in Melbourne let me know! My shout.
@@dainermade Onwards and upwards mate!
Prost Kumpel.

Okay. I see the, is it?, RZ mask in this video. Nice!
Morley Kert could sell this for $56,000!
Mais um belíssimo trabalho, parabéns. Fortaleza, Brasil.
Curious how the table has withstood these few years since the vid was posted, Id be worried about it cracking up since you just glued it on rough sides.
thanks for inspiration, about to build my own island soon here in vic
@@dainermade also please what thickness do you trim the pallets down too please
What thickness please like 15mm example
Incredible build! Very inspiring (not just “guys” viewing & subbing lol)
👏👏👏Belo trabalho!
Hi Mark what size is your ozito sliding miter saw ? I’m in the market to get one. You’ve inspired me,cheers Rob.
I always like watching your videos all the stuff to make out of pallets. I was just wondering how do you pick the pallets you use? all the pallets I’ve ripped apart were blonde wood. How do You find the dark wood pellets?
Excellent craftsmanship mate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐..may I know how long to complete the project?
So what happens to the 2x4 inch skids the slats are nailed to they are potential table legs
Hola! 🖐Really nice build, looks really good. Is this your own design or where did you get your inspiration. I like how you jigsaw piece put this together, excellent work! 👏Take care and have a good one, Adios! 👊
I’m sure you said, but I’m also sure I don’t remember. Did you cut at 1 inch? 1 1/8 inch?
And, 1100 what wide? Millimeters?
What's that clear coat, Mark - PVA?
there is a lot going on with this design, do you draw out your ideas first, or are you just creating ideas as you go ?
11:00 never related to anything more in my life
@@dainermadethe anxiety of making it up as you go haha
Love your work! How often do you replace your saw blades after cutting so much?
@@dainermade I could only imagine with what you are cutting down! Love your work! Comedy and usefulness is the key that you have found. :)
It’s just great👍. Please let me know what is the milky product on top and is it waterproof. Also for garden tables outside?
Joris, Amsterdam Holland.
I don't know if you're still building with pallet wood but nowadays you will make more money simply reselling the pallets. I used to do the same until I read an article about wood pallet prices and now I get $5 each from a guy who travels 400 miles to come pick them up.
@@dainermade that's awesome man. I make things too but I also sell all the pallets I don't use for wood. I keep what I like, I get a call when companies reach a number, send a text telling a guy to pick them up and he brings me cash. I wasn't saying to not build things as well. I was simply saying there's a lot of money you can make without ever touching pallets. I hope you still feel superior after me clarifying, I don't want to take that from you.
Hello, how would you do if I dont have a bench planer, can it be done with a manual planer?
How wide of strips do you cut your pallet boards down to?
What's the clear coat product that you used.
Excellent job. I have a question though. The pallets that are available to you, do you know if they are heat treated or what. Or what they’ve been used for. I’ve always wanted to do projects like this for the house, just didn’t know if it would be safe not knowing what the pallets were used for.
hi mark, what size do you make your bricks?
Looks easy enough...haha I think I'm going to try it. I don't need mine to be as big, so won't need as many pallets. Do you only have two sizes of bricks? Approximately what size are they?
Love the accent and humor.
It took me two years, but I got it done!
Very enjoyable video. What is the product you put on the top surface.
sorry for a dumb question. but why white and not just darker wood stain?
@@dainermade Brilliant, thank you for your answer. Love your videos.
Hey Mark..G'Day frm NYC, America. Been watching your vids for about a Yr now..I thnk 😊😅😅. Anyways, this is one of your vids frm 4yrs ago. I like watching some of YOUR older vids compared to others...might I say that I LIKE YOU In Your "Humbled Beginnings Phase " you were ALOT CALMER, Clearer, Easier to understand wnd MUCH MUCH LESS Profanity! 😅😅😂 I know that times, things, and priorities change, but That shoupd never Change You! Good On Ya Mate! Cheers! And Can't wait for more New Epiis...😇🙋🏾♀️👷🏾♀️✌🏾☝🏾
Thank you very much and I appreciate all the feedback. You may notice a slightly calmer me in the next one 😉
@@dainermade G'Day! First, you're very welcome. Second, you can really Thank your bud @jespermakes he was the one I started watching and he mentioned You as his mentor and inspiration so I HAD to chk you out! 🤗😇😉😅😅😅 And third, Calmer Would be better for all. You were so calm back in the day, but I understand the pressures of performance, attention spans, and comedic timing....just be MARK Freakin Dainer and the rest will line up for you.
I don't have the space to Do woodworking just yet, but I hope to be able to. I'm gonna start with upcycling furniture and then work my way to SOME of what you all do. As a woman, entrepreneur, and Christian I have to do what GOD Gives me first, then see if I can incorporate other things as I go along. 😉😇🙋🏾♀️☝🏾
But the keychains are definitely on my list, as I have my own online business that I'm working towards revamping and relaunching. If you know of or can keep an eye out for engineers who know about sustainability I'd love it if you'd let me know. Incorporating sustainability into Gospel Sharing is what I'm about. Teaching the church how to utilize THIS instead of disguising Begging as a "Donation Request" ("If you send a "donation" of XYZ, we'll send You this Book, Napkin/Handkerchief, or some other trinket....) you know the speel...😅😅😅😅 GOD Is NOT Pleased, that's NOT What JESUS DID Nor Taught the CHURCH, and I intend on changing it back!! Didn't the story of JESUS WHIPPING The Money Changers mean anything the first time round?!?!??? 🤔🤨 HE'S Coming back...and this time HE'S Gonna do More than just Whip Folks!!
Apologies for this extended reply, but GOD Has HIS reasons for things.
Last part, do you watch/Like The BLOCK???? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE That Show!! More AUS than NZ, But also the older episodes BEFORE The Producers turned it into a Full On Soap Opera for Construction!! 😅😅😅😅😉
Hopefully that got your attention back...All the best to you Mark, from Qnsland. I'm from Queens, NY.

Great work, great video 👍
Keep up the good work, I myself also work with pallet wood and it is great fun. Greetings from Germany / Bavaria send Helmut #palettendealer
Out of curiosity, what size do you make your bricks?

Love repurposing stuff, but I would re-thing using pallet wood for a food surface. I worked for a company that shipped Lead, acetone, and many other nasty materials on pallets.
hi, how thick do you make your top?
i have a question how do u break down your bricks for a table top 72x24??
im making a kitchen island top its 72 x 24. so i asking how do you measure your bricks out? do you cut it in in 3 sectional glue ups of 24x24. my math might be wrong.
Pallet Punter thanks that does help will try and send a pic
Que es líquido blanco que le pones ???
