- Pendle Hill is a 557 metre high summit in the Forest of Bowland AONB. It is drenched in history from the 1612 Pendle Witch Trials to George Fox climbing the hill and subsequently discovering the Quaker movement in 1652.
I spent the day climbing the hill and exploring the history of this area.

As a person who spent his whole life in Pendle, Im glad people are showing an interest in the area.
I live here thanks for showing its beauty. The trials were terrible.
Another walk into stunning beauty, you have a talent for finding these hidden gems. Thanks for taking us along, Matt!
I am walking there tomorrow for the first time
Quite the “Tale of two days”. Hard to believe this walk is the day after 3-peaks. Glad you had such a beautiful walk to enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
Haha yes exactly. Completely different conditions, almost another world! At least I got to see some of the area when the skies were blue :)
Spectacular view from the top. Nice video. Thank you for sharing and wishing you a wonderful upcoming week.
It really is. Stunning with all the lower fields surrounding the hill. I was very lucky with weather. Thanks for your kind words and hope you had a great week too 👍🏼
Me and my 2 mates go here every year. Great video mate deserves more views 👏
Nice one Matt. A really enjoyable video and another beautiful destination to add to the list. Glad you got your view in the end.
Thanks Graham. This whole day was an interesting one. Wasn't expecting the good weather, or the hike, or the history! Got a bit lucky I guess :)
I go there most weekends , it's a great walk for sure , cool video by the way
I loved it. A really underrated hike. I'd never even heard of the place, only saw it as I was in the Dales! Thanks for watching, Matt
Forest of Bowland, and around Pendle Hill is steeped in history and AONB!🥾
Visit Tynedale farm!!
Always worth it for an ice cream 😉
👍
Hi
I've always wanted to visit here I will do eventually this year or next year there's a documentary on YT about the little girl Jennet and her mother Alison I think that's her name 😂 but it's very interesting how do you get there if you travel by train?
I’m not actually too sure as I drove. Looks like you will have to get a train to one of the bigger towns and then take a bus to the village of Barley. You can start the walk from there!
@@mattwalkwild6784 I've done research its 2 trains we are getting 😊
Antonia Mcgregor: There are 3 stations within 4 miles of the hill......Brierfield, Nelson and Colne. Buses run from Nelson to Barley (which is at the base of the hill).
