My step-mother lives in Dayton OH. There are many German Baptists with similar shops and farms. They have natural meats and dairy. I was really able to taste the difference.
BEST Lehman's tour EVER!! Thank you so much! I'm 3 hours away and planning to go here for additions to our homestead. Your video has me super excited. lol Btw, she was an amazing your guide. I can hardly wait to go. 🤗🙃🤗
This was a nice tour. I have been curious about the actual store ever since I found their website. I've bought a bunch things from Lehmans over the years. I'm going to visit this store the next time one of my road trips takes me near there.
I found this episode Parts 1 and 2, very interesting. As my last name is the same. We come mainly from Hamburg, Germany and Port Perry Ontario, Canada. And the family finally settled in a small town in Central Ontario, called Gravenhurst. Thank you for sharing this video!!!
I was astonished to discover that Millenials don't know how to cook! Good Heavens! I'm so glad you guys still do this.... Way back in the 70s, (in '77), I married the best man.... He just wasn't quite into non-electric, but we cooked on our wood heating stove when the power went out. These days, I'm weak & ill; God willing, after I get my hip replaced, I'll begin to walk, again. I will not go into a wheelchair unless I have no other option! But, I think I'd have loved going back to the land more completely than we were able to. NE NNevada is dry & barren until you get water to it. There are a lot of artesian wells in certain areas. Also, a lot of thermal hot spots. So, if one did his research, it might be possible to buy land & go for it! So, you young people, if you're looking far a hard, but rewarding life, give it a try, here! Gold mining is our major industry. We have a Mennonite enclave somewhere in the County, too. Most of all, learn heritage skills. You never know when you'll need them!
I would love to see the younger generation come in and look really confused and asked alot of questions because they have no idea what real hard life was.
Would like a two tub washing machine with wringer in between . I didn't see anything like that in tutorial. I remember one as a child,,and I think it could be plugged in ,or had an attachment that would agitate the cloths.???
Yes it is a great store but they are too expensive on a lot of stuff especially for poor people I guess it's only for the rich and wealthy or well off you know things happen in people's life when they can't do that no more so the store would be great for people like me but they're too expensive I mean yeah I'm going to be ordering some things from them is some things that I don't think that that expensive but they are very expensive
Lehman Hardware.com, on their website scroll down towards the bottom, on the right is a spot to click for requesting a catalog. You can get a digital download or for $2.00 shipping they'll send you one.
the plain ol joe making 8 dollars an hour can't get anywhere into farming for the prices are high, Amish sell items too expensive especially food preparations, how in the farming community can you live . its not simple at all.
How much of their items are made here in the USA, and the crap made in China? Over priced Chinese made junk isn't right! You can own a patent, but having crap made in China.
Some products comes from europe. Some products are exactly the same in Europe and come from Asia. If you have a little knowledge of materials, you can really see the difference in quality. But unfortunately not everyone wants to pay for quality or just want to play independently instead of being. And yes, there is customer group playing self-Reliant living, does not want to spend expensive money for traditional quality. I think first people play self-reliant life and when they get the hang of it, the rest will come naturally. So yes, see it as a stepping stone and advanced shop.
I love your store I want to order stuff from there but you're not for the poor people and I'm going to tell you that right now cuz I see some of your prices I might catalogs so you're only for the rich people going off great is that how it is because wood burning stoves shouldn't be thousands of dollars you're wrong for that see there's a poor person like me who's into all this stuff but stuff is so expensive that I can't get it I can't buy me a regular wood burner and cooking stove because people want tens of thousands of dollars for it or however much you charge it's over 5 grand then the regular wood burning stove if you want three to five grand for that then you got to off-grade refrigerators and stuff you want like an arm and a leg why can't you help the poor people too
Is something not come out exactly right it's cuz of this stupid speaker phone but I'm at what I said about poor people can't you help us to instead of 1,000

I bought my mother a lamp and oil. it is brighter than a 100 watt bulb and burned for two days when the electricity went out.
I love this!!! I think I need a vacation!!
If a product is made in America the quality would be excellent and made to last.
Love your store .
Absolutely fascinating!!!
I grew up drinking Frosty root beer.

Bought an axe from this place. One day when COVID is over, I'll travel over to Ohio and visit.
How does a gas fridge work? Do you have a video showing how to light a wood stove? Or how to light a gas fridge?
