I’ve always gotten my preorders from Gruv about a week before street date. Recently they’ve upped their shipping standards which is nice. They used to send in paper mailer envelopes. I dig the channel and just hit subscribe for you 👍🏻
@@stillbluehometheater1056 Gruv is good, they tend to have good sales and they are getting more pre orders as well. They have The Last Voyage of the Detmer for pre order. I'll be picking that up.
For the audio, I would just stick with the mono track on your speakers, I thought it sounded much stronger during the action scenes and the gunshots sound way more powerful in the new DTS-HD MA 2.0 mono mix. It seems the new 7.1 Atmos track is based on the older 5.1 mix (just from listening to it) from WAAAAY back when the special edition DVD came out and they changed the audio drastically, the Atmos is basically a new remix of that. That's why it sounds a bit flat. At least they restored the "metal scrape" sound effect in the opening credits for the new Atmos.
Hi I was curious about this metal scrape sound effect you described. My 4k copy hasn't arrived yet. I've watched Terminator a million times but don't remember this sound. Could you possibly give me the timestamp? If you can't for whatever reason, I understand. Thanks.
@@ForEternia It's around the 1:22 mark in the opening credits where Arnold's name comes up, you will hear something that will sound like a knife scraping metal. This was missing on all previous blu rays since they only used the 5.1 mix for those releases, that sound is missing from the 5.1 mix but it's back on the 4K with both tracks, the Atmos 7.1 and the 2.0 mono.
I hate to say it but I have never really watched either 1 or 2 in full ever. Knowing this was come out I grabbed t2 on 4k. It was dirt cheap at my local used movie store. Everyone has said stay away from it but scrubbed through it. I don't think it is as bad as everyone said it is. Planning on watching 1 and then 2
Nice review bro I got mine from a Ebay seller on November 2 weird for me have not Idea how he got it a week before but i have my steelbook so happy with the picure quality
I can't say this will definetely make film preservationists happy, but I can certainly say that it made for an absolutely amazing viewing experience. I'm satisfied with this release.
That or they discovered how to more appropriately parameterize the ML tools they used. Over time, these things are a work in progress that are only bound to improve over time. Plus maybe a different team of people that are just better at using them. I haven't popped my copy in, but the yt videos I'm seeing and how it's being described..I get the feeling that it's a combination of scrubbing and reapplying grain similar to the AV1 Grain Synthesis algorithms, just done really well. Terminator is a really grainy film yet everyone's describing this 4K as pretty clean with light grain, so they might not've done "DNR" as we've known it but they did something.
What I have to say about Terminator 1984 Movie 4K its a little bit of a major upgrade from the blu ray it doesn't look like videos like the blu ray but worth owning more so for Extra Bonus Features I Rate The Video quailty on the 4K a 4.5 out of 5
A little bit of a major upgrade? Um,ok. And it's only worth owning more so for extra bonus features? There aren't any new extras that weren't already on DVD and Blu-ray 🤔🤦♂️
Yes. Gruv is very good at delivering all pre orders several days early. I use them exclusively for all preorders they carry.
I think I will start doing the same. Very impressed.

Much appreciated. Thank you!
Gruv ships pre-orders when they're ready and often before the release date.
Does it have the original mono track as an audio option?
I messed out on the Gruv preorder and got it through Walmart. Waiting on mine to come in.
I'm definitely glad I was able to get it. I really enjoyed the watch.

No one cares but me but, i was born the very day this film was released in cinemas. So it was a nice 40th birthday present for myself :)
Absolutely, an excellent gift for yourself!

I had my first Gruv experience today. My Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 4k steelbook arrived today shipped the exact same way.
Nearly ordered that too. I may still pick it up.

Don't stop there. Check them all out, but at least the first 3 films.
I still remember seeing T2 in the theater as a kid. Very good movie.

They always ship earlier whenever I order from them too.
Glad I gave them a try. I plan to order again.

I agree with you on both points. There will likely be lots of varying opinions. For me, it's a fantastic release.
What did you think about the scene where The Terminator arrive to 1984 in 4K
Fantastic looking scene--excellent detail and the bolts of electricity are very bright and bold. Audio in this particular scene is also very good.
Someone must have talked him out of DNR abuse and I see they included the mono audio.

The Menu's look terrible, could have copied the menu thats on the 2001 Terminator Special Edition DVD. Looks plain
That's Warner Bros for ya. Most, if not all their Bluray and 4k titles have the same menu setup if you haven't figured it out.
My beetle juice 2 movie shipped early but not 6 days lol
I'll order from them again. Very impressed.
