Slow the hell down and take shots of what’s there.
for real I had to watch @ 25% speed!
That turbo might've accidentally found it's way out with me
Anyone else sitting here like omg i would take this and that. 😂
haha
Extreme Pranks I would take my semi truck to this place and take so much , especially that engine
Artemio54321 I don’t blame you lol
Extreme Pranks yes I was all about taking that engine some wiring harnesses and a whole bunch of other things!👍
Hahaha go in with a truck and load up boys 😂
Yes this is the old Ford college at Daventry where I was a trainer. The building is packed with asbestos which is why we moved to a new state of the art building a few hundred yards away. The building would cost more to update than to demolish and asbestos removal is a huge expense. The building was seal to protect the public and any kit inside is either too old Ord internally damaged to be useful. As far as I am aware it's still Ford property so is subject to normal trespass law. Let's hope your health holds up.
As long as the don’t disturb the asbestos tiles, pipe covering (in the ceiling )
They should be fine but I agree they should not be entering the building
Far as asbestos it grows wild like pine trees in the entire Appalachian and Blue ridge I suppose we that's just as dangerous for you either way unless you plan on getting a pipe saw and cutting the pipes in half for the insulation that is wrapped in stainless steel metal rap I was an industrial pipe insulator plants unless you feel like taking a hammer and a chisel been going to town on the floors then you're a hundred and fifty percent good to go to operate in that building there a reason that they tore it down and moved over is because they stopped manufacturing particular parts in the new one that y'all moved to
Unless you're grinding it up and inhaling the dust for a few months, there is no issue.
@@bobolulu7615 the asbestos sheeting degrades and releases the particles that damage your health. Just one particle in your body can lead to a very nasty cancer. Just a roll of the dice, but the longer your exposure the more chance of rolling a 1. So a single visit? Sure. A 3 year apprenticeship? Hm. A 20 year teaching career? No thanks. 10 years of cleaning? Forget it. Refurbishing the building after 50 years of operation? No bloody way.
great video but if this truly has been abandoned by Ford, its a sad reflection of how "disposable" we've decided material things are.. sooo much value just rotting away in that building :(
Could have been a nice interesting video if it wasn't for the music
Agreed
Yep same here I wonder if he could do the Holden plant that would be interesting
Nobody add music to video these days lol
Music wrecked it.
Plant in Atlanta, down by the airport was there almost 100 years, was on Henry Ford II Ave. All torn down, nothing left and the road is now Porsche Ave and Porsche of NA use part of the site now (new building) and track for customers to test out the new stuff. Manufacturing did not leave America, was ushered out by greedy corporations and unions.
Don't forget GREEDY governmental units. The prime mover of jobs overseas was taxation. During the most recent real estate meltdown (government caused), I was going to buy a nice luxury home in the Chicago area. The property was built for several million $, and I was able to negotiate a price that was very favorable. The reason the deal didn't close was that the local tax authority would not budge off of the $2200 MONTHLY tax bill. Shame.
@Chill Will - Well... when you put it that way, it is obvious that you are one of the far-left Demonrat bums who just love the fact that there is almost a 1:1 correlation between the rise in confiscatory tax rates with corresponding blinding corruption, and government waste, plus the capital outflow to other states and countries. I know my capital never made it there. Neither did the (few) jobs I might have brought, nor the taxes all of that activity might have generated.
Soon, you and your ilk will be able to vote yourselves any income you want. The problem is, there will be no 'other people's money' left to fund those insane programs. Don't worry, everyone at the top will have nice, soft, feathered nests - unlike you and me and everyone else. Just the politically connected. George Orwell said it best: "All animals are equal. Some animals are just more equal than others".
@Chill Will - Methinks you protest too much.
I still wanted a good deal, which I had negotiated. GOVERNMENT made it a BAD DEAL.
Get it. Learn it. Live it. Stop trying to guilt entrepreneurs, and defend government. Makes you look like what I still suspect you are.
I would buy anywhere there is an advantage, which isn't outweighed by disadvantage.
In this case, the disadvantage was government-caused and perpetuated. No deal.
And yes, if I could engineer a way to legally pay no taxes, I would in a heartbeat... (plenty of others have - still do) and so would you and nearly all of your 'friends'. Most of you just cheat on your taxes, because you really want high taxes on other people, just not for yourselves.
I can't afford to cheat. Too much downside. However; I would gladly leave the suckers who keep voting for totalitarians, to pay the confiscatory rates they begged for.
The left manufactures 'greed' and 'equanimity' as bludgeons. But they define 'greed' as you wanting to keep more of what you've earned, when in fact 'greed' is the taking, confiscating, and/or coercing of more and more of someone's else property, interminably.
Equanimity is defined by the left as sharing the misery.
Get a clue (I doubt you could buy one). It's OK to just admit who you are.
@Chill Will --I have a relative . lives in Fairfield CT. maybe 2500 sf on a double lot , $34,000 a year property tax,s My house ,upstate NY, 2300 sf on 2-1/2 acres, my tax,s $6100 a year , Are roads more expensive to pave , and kids harder to teach in CT ? FUCK NO , property taxes are based on ONE thing and one thing alone.... how much they can get, and that is almost the definition of greed . Do you have another explanation for that ? I mean other then a good way of keeping neighborhoods economically nondiversified
I would steal that lift! lol
David Dobry same
that was my thought lol
As wrong as it may be, Ray, its not like anyone would notice.
It's damn obvious Ford is not worried about it or the chairs, computers or the whole building.
I know I can't believe they left those behind... I just need one...lol
Looks like a training school used to train the mechanics for the dealers
UGH those LIFTS!! Gimmie just one for my shop!
I go to a trade school like this, i can almost tell you for 80% fact that engine has been torn apart and rebuilt 100s of times
Oddly enough, its the smaller things I would be interested in taking. Like that binder on the table, the hardrive from that old pc. A lot of that stuff will have fords assembly line stamping procedures and codes. VERY important to people who will be wanting to do full restorations to current cars in the future
Imagine having all of that as your personal workshop 🤤🤤🤤
I live in this town this place has been torn down now
Did they take the stuff out
@@TJ-lc3pm yh it's a different building now
Amazing a company can build something like this then simply abandon it. They must have too much money. The engine was a cutaway model used for display at shows and for instruction.
g bridgman I'll still take that motor
g bridgman I would still take it home kinda cool
It's probably cheaper for them to just let it rot away than to tear it down - demolition is expensive - or they might planning to use the place for other purposes later on.
J Rand: I'd really like to see it repurposed. this seems like such a waste.
As I understand it from comments further down, its been demolished by now.
This was the service training facility. The engine was a cut away to show internals. Now demolished.
location place &country
The worst part about seeing stuff like this abandoned is just the fact there is somebody or a group of somebody's that could use this space and equipment to start, build, and grow a company that would be beneficial to alot of people other than themselves, but will not get that opportunity while this stuff "Hangs in Limbo" for...... No good reason, other than people are letting the trees block there view of the forest. And by trees I mean ignorance, greed, and did I mention ignorance. And by forest I mean potential, helping hand, a vision, that sort of stuff.
Most atrocious music ever
vburke1 agree!!!
Yes
vburke1 right
Just play the video at 1.5x the music is a jam.
I found a solution to this!!!! Listen with no volume and play your own music in the background and now the video is decent
It’s the old Henry Ford training centre in Daventry. Training technicians and apprentices. At 3.52, you’ll see the new building next door. This has since been demolished years ago now.
There is an abandoned Philip Morris cigarette factory sitting in Concord NC. They sold it a few years ago and the company they sold it to is out of business now. A 3 MILLION square foot building on 2300 acres rotting away. There are out buildings too that were used for warehouses.
wow, definitely would be cool to explore that place haha
Not very far from my home
WOW!!
Ive always been tempted to go over there i live 10 minutes from phillip morris id hate to get caught tho
Now another company baught all that was installed there. It was some battery factory . My company from matthews nc did alot of work there to make the transition. They went bankrupt last summer, supposedly still owe us money. New company baught all what was installed and now disassembled it to send to NY
Don,t move so quick take your time
Looks like a technical training centre or Ford Motorsports workshop
This is Daventry training college used to be next to the parts distribution centre which is still there, its now been demolished and a new henry ford training college has been built the other end of the distribution centre.
Wow! Amazing that engine is just sitting there untouched!
Sad to see a training college like that closed. This was a very interesting, well filmed video. Glad that you respect your surrounding, surprised that some lowlife hasn't help themselves to all of those expensive items left behind. Wonder when the unit closed down.
Thank you!
can't even watch this whole thing without getting a headache. He jerks the camera too much and moves around way too much.
damn, that alignment machine gotta be worth 5 grand atleast, waste for sure
I live in this town, most of the abandoned places have been demolished now :(
But where is this video taken??
So much hardware sits wasting. Should have liquidated the hardware at that plant.
Yo did u see the turbo and bad ass motor left behind! No cars left behind strange
yeah man, it was pretty much new never been used, i did see some body panels but not a car sadly haha
Why didnt you take the turbo i wish this was in australia i would go take the hoist and everything!!
ali dodo you would only want to use those as cores. They been taken apart and put together so many times. Nothing would fit right. Training engines are given to training centers cause of defects.
+Sam Claarke coool video great
+Warren S you are right
One thing you need to remember is NO PLACE is abandoned. Someone owns it whether it be a Military, A national or local government via property tax, a bank who holds the deed, or and individual or company who has paid off the bank and hold the deed and keeps up the property tax.
that engine and turbo are coming with me lol
I AM WATCHING YOU. TOP FLIGHT SECURITY OF THE WORLD 😅😅😅😅
I remember going on Ford training courses there back in the late 80's and early 90's. Shame to see it like this😞
Where is this at ?
shanteeking1 Fords daventry training facility
Kevin Lewis it's your government fault and im so sorry for people that work in there. they lost jobs and that's bad and stressful
That's cool which training courses Did you get to take there?
Davis Croun
It's "Free Trade" and Unions.
Thus the PEOPLE are at fault.
sad to think of all of the jobs lost.
No jobs were lost, it was a training centre in the UK for dealer technicians, it's full of asbestos which is very dangerous and costs a fortune to get rid of, so Ford built a new training centre next door.
Its a Training Center and that Engine thats Cut out is the Peugeot/Ford DW10TED still being used in current model Ford Mondeo,Citroen,Peugeot and Land Rover.Such a shame to abandon this facility.
The only things I would take are a few 2 post and 4 post lifts
Totally not the right song for this
Hell, i'd take that motor in my backpack ASAP
Their heavy as hell!
from work no. from ABANDONED factory? why the hell not? Is like take it from the trash.
What we have here are pictures of an abandoned automobile plant. The plant is apparently a Ford Motor Company plant. The Ford Motor Company is an old manufacturer of automobiles and trucks. Henry Ford, after whom the company is named, was a pioneer of the assembly line method of manufacturing cars and trucks. Apparently some supplies and mechanical parts, including an engine, were left behind in the abandoned plant.
do you do this for every video u watch
That lift coming home with me!! All kinds of stuff to take.
Ford's Daventry training facility, spent many many weeks there, over the yrs.
Yep haha, must of brought back a few memories?
Sam Clarke oh yes deco. .. recognised the workshops, rooms, even the engine on the rig lol.
Alex Tripp only been once thankfully.
Alex Tripp wow nice haha
Robert Taylor only once.... you missed out. .!!! Lol
Turned it off after 20 seconds, music is pointless, would enjoy the peace and quiet, oh well
Brand new engine in abandoned building, yet absolutely no dust on the engine! Hmm....
I invented this activity in the early 80s. It's was tough finding a team . But we had empty factories where I grew up.
Hope you like this edit thing i made while exploring this place, it was fun 😀
Sam Clarke where was this?
It would be nice to be there at auction and buy a couple of those lifts.
This was wild! Thanks man!
That wasn't a "Brand New Engine." You were in a Apprenticeship training room with a dummy engine used to teach new technicians. The big "Ford Masters" Apprenticeship sign you zoomed in on should be another big hint.
Sam Clarke that's just nuts. Hundreds of grands worth of car lifts and other parts I could see. It's like they took off in the middle of the night owing their landlord money. Strange. Wish I could go there and help myself, I could use a car lift or five.
Music blows, therefore, video blows!
tuffguy428 bloody ‘ell mate didn’t know Simon Cowell had a UA-cam account
Dos Format says the guy with a potato for a microphone to record his fucking cat. Fuck off bruh lol
Just enjoy the fact that although the 'music' is terrible, it is better than what you will be afflicted with in years to come. It doesn't get any better. That's realism.
And no one tried to take the engine or even attempt to steal the lifts? WOW!
it is on a factory site with site security. Dont know how the person got into the building, maybe knows security?
the Engine looked like a cut apart demo you find at the auto show
That turbo would have left with me
was there tools still In there?
yeah i think so, there were all kinds of tool boxes around the main garage part
Charlie Barge and you left that all behind
Earl Graves I think a rule they have to follow when exploring.
it still belongs to the company... it is still their property.
Scorp if a building is left abandoned the property In my eyes are grab whatever you can carry like the turbo on the floor GONE hand tools gone. the reason why it would be gone cause there inventory is off so they can't say what's missing
Amazing mate! 😎
I be like alright go get the truck and trailer that'll alignment rack is coming home with me
Go back and spent more time filming around the engine, plus & thx.
Can't imagine how many people are gonna comment on that Engine 🤣
I could bet a famous car UA-camr would take over this
Damn, bro. You could've made a FORTUNE with all that scrap metal. I'd have been farming that place until it was just concrete left behind.
Do Ford not need training facilities any more?
Ford used to have a lot of factories around Daventry and elsewhere in the UK, but many are now closed. Maybe the UK public should be buying Toyotas and Nissans now
Yes they closed the Bridgend engine plant, sad day for me and 1700 colleagues
Lose the music.
hit the mute button
At 2:55 That's the box/crate the motors come in!
You can freeze frame cool areas they are in and if any cool graffiti is shown then print screen it and use it
to make in your next quake maps
Did u take anything like the turbocharger?
I wanted to take many things there was so many electronics and parts in pristine condition but i just couldn't because im only in there to explore around really plus i was recording haha
Sam Clarke it's a good thing that your respecting a abandoned factory with expensive equipment. IF you did take something while recording, someone watching this video on UA-cam can report you if they were a employee or a manager that used to work there.
It's been knocked down now
Yep ;)
Yeah ikr, i saw all kinds of projectors, car parts, everything really haha
Sam Clarke demolition teams generally take the good stuff like that and claim them. I know a couple demo guys. They’ll claim “salvage rights” over the cool stuff like electronics or even money. Even stuff that doesn’t seem useful they’ll take and flip on offer up or craigslist like fire extinguishers, filing cabinets or phone systems. But trust me things like those office chairs and even the clock and pictures on the wall, were taken out first by the demolition crew. Some of that stuff they’ll just even take home.
Demolition companies often buy the right to demo buildings like this. A small factory in grensboro nc someone I knew was demolishing was paying 10,000 dollars a day for being behind schedule cause he was still stripping the copper wire out and making 100k a day doing that. I know in less then 1 week he'd walked away with 500k just in copper and the scrapyard he sold the copper to gave him the money in cash. Towards the end he was still stripping everything of value and breaking even but he didnt mind cause it keep his employees paid and something to do while he was setting up their next job, Once he was ready the entire building was down in 3 days and being scooped up in dumptrucks. He also sold things like the front doors, toliets, sinks anything that was salvageable. But just saying, companies dont pay for these buildings to be demolished, people pay them for their trash and are happy to bid high for it.
HARRY Robson whats been built there? Houses no doubt
I always wonder with these abandoned places, Who is paying the mortgage and property tax, or did the city/county confiscate it? There's alot that can be done at this facility, A trade school, city vehicle maintenance shop, etc.. There must be an underlying reason that they look like a last second decision to run, leaving good equipment behind...
i replaced the two green robey boilers when you go in it was the training block outside parts distribution block. now that was a building too see
That engine would be mine
haha
It’s a cutaway engine
Genius level if you could ever make that run. STOOOOOPID.
looks like trespassing and theft??
Rod Amo trespassing yes. Theft no. They didn't steal anything.
He never implicitly said they stole the engine. They just said they found one.
Rod Amo shut the fuck up
Rod Amo trespass and breaking and entering. No evidence of theft
Well some company or bank owns this building. Surely it's not open to visitors. Trespassing? Probably up to a judge to decide.
@@azmike3572 Perhaps it's the responsibility of the owner, to secure the premises better. Make it so you cannot enter....just a thought.
LOVE THAT BLUE OVAL!!!!
It wasn’t a factory, it was the Daventry training centre. It is closed because they moved into the brand new purpose built facility within the same complex. It’s strange to see stuff left behind but when you have brand new in the new building...
yeah, found so many parts though could most likely build a car haha
If henry ford still alive, he will sad😭😢
I like how every one is saying they would take that motor but I bet you can get more money out of that turbo
I would love to have one of those lifts.
Those lifts are big money, I really want one for my shop but can’t afford one. That engine I would totally take
nice power plant of a motor. make a grate start to a nice ride.
Wow be crazy if they left a car or two there. Cool video and find gentleman👍👍👍
i remeber breaking the new boards they put up so i could get in and play hide and seek 😂
For the people saying "its one of Ford's old devopment sites!" No, stop it before you make yourself look dumb. Ford's ONE AND ONLY development and RND facilities is underground in Detroit. Like no seriously, the high valued cars that they develop and design as well as do RND on is located below the headquarters in Detroit. High value development requires high security.
This is more or less a training facility. Not much in the means of storage space, and a lot of lifts and office spaces. Its also not a new engine, its one used for training students how to disassemble and reassemble, troubleshoot, etc.
This place isn't a factory for producing vehicles, this is some kind of research facility or skunkworks. Looks to me like a place doing emissions development and testing.
When the Norfolk plant in VA closed we got a few things lol..
I'm surprised the building wasn't striped clean of anything of value and resold.
I kinda hope someone has seen this and has taken it upon themselves to go get that inline 6 and turbo.
Yep..thanks corporate America for leaving such a beautiful legacy!! Well done!
Looks more like a dealership or one of their apprentice training, trial/experimental/recall parts places. No assembly line.
I literally had a Chevy commercial for this video. Good Job, YT.
That turbocharger won’t work. Go ahead, try it. Lol
nice find brother
Car jacks??? Lifts!!
Wow, nobody claiming the warehouse or the land
It would make a great movie set
Dam that engine looks built I wouldnof copped
The old auto pact (Canada, US), pre NAFTA, gave us Canadians a better share in production, both in Ontario and Quebec. We even had our own models, like Beaumont (Chevelle), Acadian ( Chevette), Montcalm (Mercury Meteor or Marquis), Rideau ( LTD/Galaxy). Rebadges but slight cosmetic differences. McLoughlin (of McLoughlin-Buick) was based in Oshawa Ontario before GM was even a thing. Anyone please correct me if I’m wrong.
That does not look like a manufacturing plant. It looks like an R&D and test plant for diesel engine vehicles.
No railroad tracks to bring parts to assemble. No assembly line. Ceiling too low. Not a vehicle assembly plant. It would be nice to know what it once was. The building is valuable for future use.
That turbo still looked pretty clean, prolly for a diesel
Daring! Never know who or what could be waiting inside. Good find
Walk around and talk about what you see. Zoom in on stuff too. My old Ford plant is sitting empty. I worked there from 1977. To 1980
In Indianapolis. Plant built in 1957
Closed around 2005.
turbos off a mk3 mondeo (puma engine) had the misfortune of replacing my st's one haha, engine looks nice nick it ;)
I was last in there on a training course in 2014 wow it's a mess!
A fricking Powerstroke!!!! i would have definitely taken that.
Those hoists would be handy..
It was a training collage the engine is in a museum now
