I don't think that I'll ever read this book again because ,nowadays whenever, I see the word 'Jest' I want to burst out crying. Love the review! Subscribed!!

I loved the ending but in a way that I was just SO FREAKING MAD AT LITERALLY EVERY CHARACTER AGH

Pucksandpaperbacks It is really good! I also suggest that you read the Lunar Chronicles (also by Marissa Meyer), it's AMAZING
I have to agree with your about the ending, it did happen a bit fast, but leading up to it was amazing. I got so much anxiety while reading it, I just wanted Cath and Jest to be happy, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I love Jest

I was surprised at how different Heartless was from Lunar Chronicles. I honestly have a hard time placing it in a genre. I mean it's obviously YA, but it feels so unlike any YA book I've ever read, but it is incredible
I agree, it is very different but a good different!
Im reading Heartless now and Ive not been able to put it down! Reading multiple books is a bad habbit for me but for once I'm glad i stopped my last read long enough to start this one! I am so addicted! So far I think this might be my favorite book of this year. We will see if that still holds true when I get through the rest of the book!

i finished this book a couple of hours ago. i did enjoy the world and it was difficult to know she would become the queen of hearts in the end. i just wanted all of her dreams to come true. and jest! the impossible boy. sighhh.

Throughout the whole book, even at the start, there was always kind of a selfish undertone to some of the things Cath did (though they weren't necessarily bad) Like, as to the way she approached her relationship with Jest, it was always kind of centered around her feelings rather than his or the King's (though she tried her best not to hurt them, especially Jest) most of her decisions were always more centered around herself, though not only, but mostly. And it was kind of that exploitation of her tiniest flaws that made her into the queen of hearts, which I thought was really clever of Marissa Meyer (bless her). Even though you could never (at the start) fully picture her to be the "OFF WITH THEIR HEAD" type, there were always little subtle spikes and hints of who she would come to be; so that even when she turned completely over and became the Queen of Hearts that we know her as, it wasn't completely unreasonable and out of the blue- which I thought was one of the good things about this book.
(And I totally agree with what you thought about the end; there was just something so jarringly sudden about it that hit me, but overall it still made for a good book)
Can't wait to read it although the UK book cover is awful xx
