Willard Gene Harris appears to be the mastermind of destroying Butker likely because of his statement on LGBTQ in the speech. He started the petition to get him fired. I doubt this has anything to do with Butker''s statement on women. That is why everyone is confused. Harris is a staunch Trans Activist.

Lord, help me not be too busy working to give my kids what they want that I'm not there to give them what they need 🙏 Amen. I never doubted that decision and my husband and I had to make changes. That was over 30years ago and it was worth it. I went back to work eventually; we figured it out that one of us was present for the boys.
Not everyone has that opportunity.

My husband and I both made the decision for me to be a stay at home wife and mother ..we never regretted the decision, thanks be to GOD.

Homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia. We hear and see these terms incessantly. Not once have I ever heard or seen anything about 'Christophobia," which is pervasive in our culture and the world!
I once wrote a Letter to the Editor about Christophobia. The newspaper published my letter. The backlash was insane! Some folks responded to my letter by claiming that there is no such thing as Christophobia in America. They also claimed that there is no persecution of Christians in the US. Christian persecution can take many forms. Harrison Butker was clearly persecuted for his Catholic faith. Anti-Catholic bigotry is growing in our Nation.

I don't think people "fear" any one religion such as Christianity. Any right-thinking person fears religious excess (historically the burning of heretics and "witches"; harshness towards children in strict bible-based "reform schools"; the cruelty of Westboro Baptist Church; pedophile priests hiding behind spiritual power). Religious excess is found in all religions.
As for Butker, he had every right to speak and should not be penalized. He was calm and clear. I am a older Jewish man. I believe in family values, loyalty, clean living etc. I don't agree with Butker that modern women should forego higher education and career. It can be balanced with home life.
I have never experienced that as a Christian. Maybe as a Catholic. Many of your clergy did spend decades mentally, physically and sexually abusing children who were born yet you are so obsessed with protecting the unborn regardless of the circumstances. Shame on your pride, arrogance, and blindness.

I support him. I would have loved to have been able to be a homemaker. To be home with my kids. There is nothing wrong with what he said. How does it affect the NFL? It doesn't. It only affects those who are offended by anything good.

People need to speak up and defend Harrison and write the NFL (Goodell) and tell them their position is not acceptable. I already contacted Goodell.
We must pray for Butker and his family; that they are not overwhelmed and phased by all the slander and backlash they are receiving! That they continue to speak the truth despite people’s reactions. That is where true final perseverance is founded upon.
I am not a Christian but strongly believe in free speech. Butker came across as sincere, not taunting. One of the byproducts of a good college education is the ability to listen carefully to a speaker. Then sift through everything to see what seems trustworthy, and what needs improvement.

What’s wrong with people these days. There is nothing demeaning in being a homemaker. I am sure if a toll was taken the majority of women would love to be at home bringing up their children and taking care of their home. At one time in my life I choose to not work and stay at home with my children and it was the best thing I did. Thanks be to God.
@annavieira5658 Agree! I worked only part time so our children wouldn't have to be without a parent at all times. I even home schooled my children more than 30 years ago because the schools were terrible even then. I had to leave my children to work 2-4 jobs to support them. My husband left and I've seen the damage done to my children by not having a good dad like Butker and no mom around. The 1st time I had to send my baby to a day care, I had a seizure! God bless this young man who values his family and LEADS them like a real man should. I still regret not being there for my children when they needed me. Without God, we would have never made it, and thanks be to God, they are all good adults. Like over 90% of children who may have fathers in the home, but whose fathers don't attend church etc., only 1 child attend a church now, though.

Regarding Butker and reflected in an excerpt from today’s The Catholic Thing, written by Mr. Royal : “If the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:18-19) And there’s a clear reason for this: “it hates Me, because I testify that its works are evil.” (John 7:7)

I live in Kansas. The Catholics here are divided. There are past graduates of Benedictine who are upset by it. My point is that as a Church we should be more concerned why are brother/sister Catholics have a problem with what he said than what the NFL has to say about it. The Church needs to clean it’s own house.
