I don't want to keep using my Envoy so I got a 99 Express 1500 5.7 R Gladiator custom, engine. I used RVT when I replaced intake gasket. Oil seepage and high idle speed. Signal isn't correct from VCM so next step is checking circuits.
I don't think Yuma will see me this year. Thinking more of taking yak to Everglades. Maybe other S Fla locations and get some serious fishing in. Im at shop in Brookhaven GA so gas won't bust my bank getting to warmer temps plus Everglades will be a new experience. Might just put Van project on hold and use Envoy "just one more year"..and spend time in N Ga catching trout and use one of my tents while it's super nice weather.

I remember back when you had that AWD Astro and bikes. Been a spell... always interesting. If your wintering in Baltimore I'd be stacking wood. Not just for your own needs. Folks pay good money for a cord now I hear. Tree services dump it and find where they do it. They don't charge to get it out of thier yards or dump sites. Just an idea. Saws and fuels is your only cost. I imagine one can rent a splitter if need be.
FYI. I use Alldata and a X30 Bluetooth scanner system. It has actuator capabilities which help with those brake systems both in diagnosis and repair. Newer vehicles have so many modules and too often are points of failure or connections especially up there in rust belt.

Thanks for keeping up with the channel since the Astro days. Then the van build era, now basically reinventing myself in a place I've never lived and have no inside connections for handling finances. I like the Blue Driver diagnostic tool so far. I imagine there are lots of good ones. South Florida fishing sounds warm. I've always been a fan. We'll settle in on what's best. Great Jamie, I am in Michigan at the M23 UA-cam meet up. Then headed to Lolapalooza in Texas before I head to Quartsite. Missing the Arizona activities of yesteryear, van builds and the original RTR's/ParTR's.

I just turned down the offer to take on a house that’s been in my family for over 50 years….it needs way too much work. Located in Bawlmer, Hon! Lol.

Everybody's gotta know what's right for them as far a family house goes. In my case, I like taking on jobs that would otherwise require a specialist.
Remember when you work on your rig, if you get stuck, it's just a feeling, not anything permanent.
I like sitting with that feeling and getting comfortable just feeling stuck. It has passed and the solution comes out every time.

I'm getting my firewood for my off grid cabin. Loving the cooler weather. I'm in Tennessee. I have a month of removing leaves everyday. Leaves have started to fall.
Sounds about right, Gail. I'm working through the leaves, myself. My neighbor offered me all his firewood. Have a warm, uneventful winter!
Going to tough it out in northwest Ohio. Man I really dislike the cold. It's gonna be a long winter I guess.

I’ve been building out an ambulance rv for the last year.
Hopefully my first trip to the southwest in January 2024 for a couple months.

Currently in NY, visiting family and friends and enjoying fall on the east coast..heading back to NM where I live, this weekend.

There are some permanent light my son-in-law put on his home that are led, full color spectrum and programmable for different moods or holidays..Research it.
Yoooooo J! I was a victim of a hit and run last Jan. Had to have life saving surgery that left me partially paralyzed from the nipple line down. Smfh. My life is fucked. But when God give you lemons-you have to make lemonade.

I had travel exhaustion from full time RVing for 13 months. Been mooch docking in colorado at my sisters property since Aug 3rd. Now I am better and heading to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival.

Probably climbing back in a semi truck for the winter.
Just had cataract surgery on one eye, the other will be done in 2 weeks. Then I'm southbound!

I’m on a 30 day Amtrak RailPass visiting friends around the country and on the way back I hope to stop in mesa az at cruise America and purchase a 20 foot class c that’s refurbed and begin my nomadic lifestyle

I'm so happy to feel cooler weather. Thinking about which way to go for snow bird season. One UA-cam gal says you need weapons to go west to AZ. Pretty sure she just trying to get more views, but it makes me think twice as a solo van traveler. What security issues have you heard about? What tips you got for solo female van travelers? I believe I'm pretty street savvy, but, I can't stay awake 24/7.
I think you'll be fine, Georgia. I've never run across any reason to carry a firearm. Bear spray might be a fair inclusion bedside.
As far as tips go, I've always felt that putting out two camp chairs and grabbing a large pair of men's work/cowboy boots from a thrift store to put out by the door when you camp, wouldn't be the worst idea. Camping with friends is always a good choice. Other female travers can be found on Enigmatic Nomadics Facebook group and can be found at Laposa South in Quartzite, AZ.

I'm knowledgeable & able to handle a shot gun & a couple hand guns, my Daddy was a Korean Vet & taught all us kids how to handle them, mostly for hunting & home protection. He was kind of a no nonsense fella, shell shocked Sharp Shooter, & my hero. But still, folks today feel they need a gun just to camp & have fun or live on the road, it's so sad? It amazes me how our country has changed. Thanks again for the reply & thanks for your service!

Of course I know what RTV is, but you're right most folks don't have any idea what RVT stands for. I'm doing great Jamie. About a month or 6 weeks until I get in my RV full time. I've got one more apartment to rent and life will be really good. Working on building a tall cap for my truck so I can carry my bike and boat around with me. Plans right now are the Tampa RV show and then some where east of the Mississippi for the winter. Keep the goods stuff coming buddy and as always you have my number if you need anything.

Yeesh! I lived in Iowa for awhile. Humbolt. I serviced Hotsy pressure washers in pig confinements and such. I also was on a concrete slab pouring crew. I just remember really cold winters. I was just down in the Harbor area with Becca and a friend visiting, Ron Moak, at the Hard Rock. I'll get it on film at some point. Take care, tankful.
Pretty much staying put for the winter but in a couple of weeks I'm going on a solo road trip. Cutting over to Missouri and following the great river road down to the gulf. Just me, I don't go solo often but I enjoy it when I do. Your business plans sound like good ideas and I know you will do great!

Having been the type to never hire anybody to do things I can figure out on my own it's hard to fathom a market for the services you mentioned, but then you're in an area where the population is measured by millions. Bound to be some rich people that only know how to call a guy for that. Mostly just waiting for cooler weather here. Not that I'll be doing anything then either. I traded in the Nissan van a while ago, accepted I'm done traveling. Had to do it, I got about $2,500 less than I paid new 8 yr and 85k miles ago. Weird times for sure. Memory slipping away at times, don't remember if I already mentioned selling the van. Lol 🤣

Static in SW Minnesota, leased an apt for 6 months. Going to go NUTS but happy for a roof over my head. I did finally find a FT remote job. Ironic as tried SO much for one when was nomadic. Say howdy to Becca for me...and a pet to Phoebe!

Doing well, but getting the wanderlust itch. Started shopping for an RV. Hopefully be on the road (semi-permanent) by spring. Winter in FL is fantastic for fishing / motorcycling / exploring / etc. But want to get to UT/CO/ID/MT in the spring and summer.
I've always loved Florida in the winter! I actually like the humidity and the smells of all the plants. Good for you!

Thanks, JoseLuis! My mom is stable and able to stand and walk around. She has her heart monitored every day at the assisted living facility and I'm hoping she'll move back to the house at some point soon!
Sounds like some interesting and feasible ideas re: future work/income opportunities for yourself. Out of curiosity, were you able to make that initial mortgage payment to the bank last month and have you sorted out the requisite paperwork on the house with your stepfather?
