@@LivingLegend83 it's got a retro 60s feel whilst listening to it but with a modern day twist to it too. Still listening to this wow factor tune 30 years on.
If you can, go see them live. Not to put shade on the others, but Loz's drumming was the highlight last time I saw them. Everyone was talking about it, afterwards. Never had that at any other gig.
Just watching this May 2022 and the nostalgia and my youth spirit has hit me like a ton of bricks. I actually felt my exact late teenage feelings come back. It’s brought me to tears.
For three decades, this track has always just taken me away to some other place on some other world ... The drumming is still unlike anything else I've heard... Looking forward to seeing you guys play in Fremantle, WA at the end of 2022.
Ride. Nowhere. What can I say? We are all here to listen to the greatness they put down on tape that now lives forever digitally. Of course I have the album and the cd(and the cassette). There is brilliance in this album I didn’t even recognize at the time. It’s been thirty years and I still have Ride on heavy rotation. Seagull. Vapour Trail. Sennen. Unfamiliar. Today. Nobody from the shoegaze era could touch these guys. MBV may have gotten all the hype but Ride had the heart. I’m forever a devotee. Long live you brilliant lads.
Mark and Andy harmonize on vocals so well at times it can be tough to tell whose singing lead and many times it's the two of them together. But I've gotten better at figuring it all out, it just took me twenty years.
magnumzrare I've always felt he and the drummer of Level 42 were 2 of the best drummers of the bands I grew up listening to. Not to much flash, just on point, and they were able to put emotion into their technique.
This is where my Ride started! After watching this on BBC 2's SNUB TV in 1990 aged 16, I went out the next day & bought the first 4 EPs! Then saw them live for the first time in my 6th form when they played Leeds Uni in '92. Then felt the same excitement having not seen them for 20yrs in 2015 at the Albert Hall in Manchester! Great track. The EP's and Nowhere are the soundtrack to my 6th form & student years! With Leave them All Behind thrown in.
@@captainfeedback1 Ah, ok. I'm out by a school term! I thought it was about Nov '90 but was March '91. I had all 4 EPs copied to a cassette by summer term '91 after the Easter holidays. I know that as I also bought a "Play" T-shirt which I still have and wore it to play summer term football and someone spotted it and asked if I had Nowhere, which I didn't know about, so went out and bough that!
You're rushing for a time That you don't know Curious of what your feelings are You go Losing sight of that familiar touch You know Sinking into unknown beauty For a day Living everything As it comes and goes The only times you know Have passed away Now you're looking back Where everything seems here Scared of letting All that comfort disappear
Thanks for a letter,I´m a from BRAZIL and don´t understand very well the language, just SAMBA...kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk LOVE THE BAND RIDE 🤣😂🥰🥰😍😍🤩😇😇😇
You're rushing for a time that you don't know, Curious of what your feelings are you go Losing sight of that familiar touch you know, Sinking into unknown beauty for a day, Living everything as it comes and goes, The only times you know have passed away. Now you're looking back where everything seems here, Scared of letting all that comfort disappear.
Now this could be one of the best songs ever. It hit me so hard when I first listened to it and can really just freeze you in your tracks with what you're doing with your life. I will always love Ride.
BBC 4 brought me here . I honestly don't remember this band or song and I was apparently 20 when this song came out and I wish now I was aware of them because I really like this song .🤗🤗🤗
Loz. Loz Loz Loz ... damn, what a phucking player. Loz is never shoegazing. Moon gazing maybe but it's RIDE, not the Who. Best of everything here. My God, they were so young and so great. Still are.
This is the song that hooked me on shoegaze, before I heard MBV. I had the 12 inch EP on vinyl. To this day, this song sums up shoegaze better than anything IMO.
Original Gazer here from back when it all began. Andy, Mark, Steve and Loz, thank you for being there then and being here now. Cheers for signing my Weather Diaries album too and see you at The Forum in November. RIDE Army!
YAY! Such a *COOL* song, I'm in love with this killing bass line, the tremolo guitar is awesome and I particularly find it as one the main things that sets them apart from other shoegaze bands, another time: the drummer is amazing! I can easily see it as one of my favorite shoegaze songs so far.
I was still in my 20's when this came out, now over 30 years later it still sounds new and fresh. Saw them live too, and were even better. I'm still convinced Loz Colbert has four arms. Phenomenal.
This song sounds like the Nowhere album artwork looks. Raging currents in an endless ocean, with tidal waves crashing down. Perfect, and in my opinion the epitome of shoegaze.
Imagine u have the car in my profile picture u walk to the garden it’s staring at you u start the V8 bourbon engine shades on drive out the drive way blasting this 🔥🔥🔥
One of the greatest songs EVER written, by one of the GREATEST EVER British bands!
Точно! Охуенная Банда!!
by one of the greatest bands period.

Abso-fuckin-lutely man!!!
Apparently shoegazing means you concentrate on your instrument and play superbly. Pure genius.
ride's drummer is sublime

my favorite ride's song..one of the best shoegaze song of all the times
The fantastic part about this song is you can get lost in it.
Probably one of the best songs from this era. Sigh.
Just watching this May 2022 and the nostalgia and my youth spirit has hit me like a ton of bricks. I actually felt my exact late teenage feelings come back. It’s brought me to tears.
And I hope as recently as this week
I love that comment because the same feelings have hit me this year while listening to Ride
RIDE bring me to tears at times, as well. That's a very unique power - very few bands do that...
100% . Felt the same .
Drive, distortion, melody the holy trinity of their sound .
You nailed it,my friend.Absolutely awesome.
For three decades, this track has always just taken me away to some other place on some other world ... The drumming is still unlike anything else I've heard...

that goddamn drumming is other worldly

fucking awesome drummer
Wow , they look so young. does that mean I was young once too. Mind Blown.
Awesome song. Never tire of it.

Fell in love with Ride when I was 18. Now, 30(!) years later, I still love them. Best band ever.
Caught this last night at Enmore Theatre, Sydney. Excellent and a welcome surprise xx
i was there too. magnificent.
Great drummer.

No you didn't. The 4th EP (Today Forever) with this song on wasn't released until Spring 1991.

@@richardbrigg4990 Ah, fair enough - it was a long time ago, I guess. Sounds like your 1990/91 was pretty similar to mine!
This EP......Maybe their finest hour
Definitely. I wish they'd made an album instead of an EP in 1991. These four songs are their peak.
Magic. All elements of a band fusing perfectly.
Love the base line in it and and how it flows ...
Best ever shoegazing band, alongside Lush and the Cocteau Twins, its all i ever listened to in the 90s. Memories etched deep into the future. xx

Loz is like a junior Bonham with his fills. Love it
Loz is better than Bonham
Great classic 90's track
love the drums
Wacthing from SP Brazil.
Love the band and the tune. The videographer was a bit obsessed with the broken window panning.
I dunno...how about some Thumbs Up for Best F-In Song of the 1990's?
めっちゃ、懐かしい😁👏
Simply delightful. Can't wait to see the boys, looking a little older, in Belfast in June. Losing sight.....
ride are awesome and so underrated
Amazing ❤️❤️that drumming so amazing no band compares to them!!
Loved them since 1990. Seen them their 2 times in Denmark. Hope there will be another one. Sound is irresistibly sweet to my ears ❤
All their songs are good, also the newer, but this is still my favourite
Was ein Schlagzeuger!! Krass.
I have to admit, these guys were hard with their shoegazing style.
Melts my heart
Nowhere great great album!!👌

Gardners voice is fucking beautiful
This is utterly fucking awesome- and, disgustingly (from my contemporary point of view), they were all of 21(-ish) when they came up with this..
shoegaze anthem
I love it, it's just immense...timeless...let's start a Go Fund It campaign for it to be the new National Anthem... :o)
Ride Forever

Pure Shoegaze
RIDE ist immer noch die Band!!...."close my eyes" 3stimmig....ich habe nur deswegen überlegt, mit "Giitarre" anzufangen!!
