Awesome tricks 👏 My favourite and best bird channels 1. Denny the budjie 2. Misty and Blue 3. Birb Friends My budjie doesn't like to go back in the cage than I use to put him in the cage using a stick earlier I taught him on sitting the stick and now he sees the stick and comes on his own 😊
For the windows- if you want a long-term solution, they also make these frosted glass decals that you can stick to your windows ( : they even have ones with smaller areas you can see through.
The general recommendation is 2 weeks. Like that they can first get comfortable with their cage (which is their main territory) and they know they always have a safe space to go to when they’re having free flight :) It’s tempting to wait less time but there’s a risk that they get very scared and get traumatised. Generally, you can observe your birds day by day and see if they look comfortable (when they sing/chirp, preen themselves, and freely move around in their cage those are all good signs) enough to take the next step of leaving their cage.
Hello , how are you foing . I recently got an exhibiton budgie chick, now he 2 and a half months old, im scared for him to hurt himself he is tamed but he flys sometimes to me sometimes to walls.Any suggestion what i should do
You might wanna give him more time to get used to his new home :) For instance, you can first let him get very comfortable in his cage where he knows he has his own, safe territory, and then he can also feel more comfortable during free flight. Most budgies need quite some time to get used to a new environment but after some weeks to months they usually do much better. And it can help to give enough high landing places with natural perches and natural toys.
I might have to look for a new screen soon plus buy like a mash on top of it to seal it even better for more safety because the room kind of getting warm and since the door is always closed to be safe from my dog it's nice to get fresh air in.
@@5budgieshedgehogandadog70 if the screen is something they could chew and break with their beaks then I would find it a bit scary. But if you place something stronger with very small holes it should be fine 😊 Something I recently discovered is a type of window lock. You can find them on Amazon. When you place one on the window you can open it a few centimetres and you don’t need to worry about wind blowing it open or the budgies opening it. I think that would be the best option for our bird room.
Our birds never do anything with cables. If you do notice that your birds do something with cables then there are also options to hide or cover cables, like a type of plastic covers in which you can put cables :) But I think they should be safe in your room!
It depends on the size of the gaps, but budgies can fit through almost any hole, so it’s quite likely that they escape. What you could do is temporarily cover those gaps when your birds are flying around freely, if it’s not dangerous of course.
@@misty_blue well I'm planning on getting a cockatiel and by my predictions that hole can be like 7 cm in height it's on the top of the wall , of I need to cover it what should I use? And also after taming can I remove those?
@@misty_blue well there's a workspace outside the kitchen where I can take him out and there are grills as walls which the cockatiel can't fly through but I'm worried he will want to go outside more because he can see outside
@@misty_blue yo also after taking it out several times in a bird proof room and fully taming it and gaining it's trust do you still need a bird proof room like windows and doors all shut?
@@misty_blue I'm thinking about clipping it's feathers a bit so that it can't escape but can still fly a bit but I won't do it a professional will so the bird won't lose my trust and it will be easier to tame and they won't hurt themselves by flying
Oh and a next thing you could have used word and make ot rhe size of the window amd put wire so not the budgies can not hit the glass I learnt this from alen axp you can check out his setup🙋
Yeah I think I saw that video 😊 I've been considering doing that so we can open the window and they can finally get sunshine when we get warm weather in spring and summer. And we could finally let enough fresh air in the room without being afraid that they escape. Thanks for the tip! 👍
my bird fell of the wardrobe and luckily it was tamed because there was a gap and he came to the side and I stepped him up. I don’t know what to do😢 luckily it still trusts me and is fine
This is wonderful but my budgies they play wherever they want they just have a room where they sleep,Please don't be mad but I got my budgie in the habit of cutting their wing so they can play outdoors in the yard and walk on the trees without flying away,I know they need to fly because they are birds but my thing is they cant be kept in a room they need to walk on actual grass and trees.Sorry if you are mad at me.
I get your perspective 😊 Although I don't think I could ever clip their wings, I understand your dilemma. I like it that our birds can fly around in their room, but I always feel guilty that they cannot be outside with grass and trees and sunshine. I feel bad that they don't get as much vitamin D as they should. I think there's pros and cons to both situations, but it sounds wonderful that your birds can at least be in nature 😊
I can't stop but i am trying will you like recomend my channel to others on your community tab please i do not ask for these type of things but please for the budgies i am trying so if youtube start paying me the birds can live a better life but i need help
@@zach_nxn I get that 🥰 I think it's most important that you love them and give them the best life that you can 😊 Blue is doing well! We were afraid for a moment that he was sick because he was sleeping during the morning that Pacalina got sick. But after his nap he looked fine and active again. He just spends his days singing and playing with Micky, looking after Mini and getting to know the new members of the flock. Today he was talking to Daisy and she actually looked interested. Who knows, maybe after three years Blue will find a wife 🥰

After watching your video, I was wondering how long I should wait before allowing my new budgie to fly freely?

What about if I opened the window but it has a window screen? Can it be unsafe? It has small holes from the cat damage but very tiny ones.

My mum won’t let me use that many sticky notes
I‘m sorry to hear 😅 Maybe you can use old newspapers or something? The main point is that the birds notice the glass.
They do enjoy out of the cage, but drop poop every where. It gets messy
