We can't forget about the "2nd" PSone Dave Mirra game, Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX: Maximum Remix. I still have a copy of the original but I lost my copy of Maximum Remix. It KILLS me that I lost it! Still hands down the best BMX game. Nothing can top it.
With BMX games, you had companies copying the Tony Hawk formula with the same control setup, and then there was Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX 2. It's not the most realistic game out there, but just like EA's Skate as an alternative to THPS, the controls just cant be beaten. Tricks and modifiers. Do a trick, then modify it. Want to do a footplant X-up? We gotcha. Want to do a Superman-seatgrab-barspin? No probs. Intuitive easy system with tons of depth. I just dunno why the only people who will touch BMX games these days are small, indie kickstarter companies who put out half-arsed demo's as full games. The products themselves are so shoddy they're practically scams. The modding community absolutely keep those games alive... its just such a shame you have to give them money for other people to be doing the hard work. And I also dunno why they're all trying to recreate the wheel by creating the perfect realistic (not fun) control system when they could pretty much rob Dave Mirra's. It's just kinda sad how bad BMX games are over the course of history. I feel like the entire industry's big batters managed to hit one single homerun with Dave Mirra... and a couple of good hits with BMX XXX and Mat Hoffman... and then called it a day.
I think the original and Maximum Remix on PS1 were the best two Mirra games of the bunch, the sequel on PS2/Xbox/Gamecube just felt a little clunky to me all though still fun. Mat Hoffmans Pro Bmx 2 was a huge leap over the first game on PS1 and may have been better than the Dave Mirra 2 IMO. From what I recall, BMX XXX was kind of the nail in the coffin for Bmx games due to all the controversy and Dave refusing to put his name on it. Was it any good? I wasn't allowed to get it as a kid and have never found a copy since.
One thing I disagree with you is the half assed demos part. I wouldn't call pipe half assed but the modding community definitely helps keep it from being stale considering how long it's been out
Nah man realistic controls are fun as hell just kinda hard. Pipe is also not a scam. It's cheap and you get what you pay for, the full game is probably gonna be released soon too
Yes. The Gameboy looking one was one of the Dave Mirra games, I think it was the sequel for GBA. Then after it was Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 1 for PS1, then showed Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 for PS2/Xbox/Gamecube. The one after that, I didnt know what game it was. After that they showed the Dave Mirra game that came out for Wii. Missing in this montage was Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX and Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX: Maximum Remix for PS1(these were better than the sequel on PS2/Xbox/Gamexube in my opinion), and also missing BMX XXX, although I'm pretty sure Dave didn't endorse that game due to all the controversy attached to it.
@@letsplayclassicgames5024 BmX XXX was originally meant to be DMFBmx 3 but he signed off when he seen the direction the devs were taking it. He had a family friendly image to uphold.
i gave that company thats making BMX: The Game $80 like 5 years ago and they didn’t produce anything worth touching. i know i know nothing about game development but they definitely made it seem they had it figured out. kinda sucks.
I think you got some mixed up or different versions...I remember Mat Hoffman's bmx1 looking way better. and I believe the Dave Mirra bmx 2 part is actually footage of Mat Hoffman bmx 1
That last game needs a lot of work looks horrible for it being 2021 but then again Matt Hoffman’s pro bmx 2 was the last actual bmx game released on console to be decent, a bunny hop does not make that sound with tires either nore does the crank and spokes make that much damn noise whoever made the last game needs to deep their research by far
I don’t know if it counts but in tony hawks American wasteland you could ride a bmx and it was pretty advanced for the time as well
I literally only played that game for the bike lol it was great
@@LXXIV666 so do I bro, I still play this game on my Android using aethersx2 emulator it's really nice I recommend
Bro it counts that was number 1 for bmx!!!
its the same mechanics as Matt Hoffmans pro bmx 2 so if you liked that you should play that game
Whoever made this got the games titles completely mixed up
Mat Hoffman’s bmx… most underrated game of all time?
The Sound Of The First One Gave Me Brain Damage...
you are genius
ooo shit bro cool
bmx in gta5 is good tbh
Wait till bmx streets drops
This was great but u should have added descenders
Descenders is a mtb game not bmx
Oh my bad
What bmx game is good in 2021?
Dude what about desenders
mountain bikes are different
Decenders?
It’s a mtb game not bmx

Isn't BMX The Game is in, and has been in pre-alpha for years?
Devolution of BMX games 😑
BMX XXX anyone?
Forgot BMX XXX - flatland tricks were so fun in there! Pinky squeaks to N.E.R.D. - Lapdance all day!
I forgot about that game I think still have it for the PS2 to!
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX for Playstation is so good! I wish they did more games like that with a lot of more quests which makes it so fun to play!
I agree, that game was so dope

I've seen just a few days ago that the physics and tricks had all been done and now all that's left to be done is the map and world building

C’mon Air Master, do a fakie!
pipe was like a beta . the full game is being developed currently . thankfully with the modding community pipe has developed so much on its own .

2007 Dave Mirra BMX challenge. On the psp on my way to school was the best shit ever.
