I'm so proud to have been part of this musical extraordinaire. It is absolutely one of the greatest moments of my life. After playing, we got such uproar from the savannah crowd, it was totally nerve wracking. “All Stars! All Stars!” They were shouting, “We Want More! We Want More!” I've never felt such overwhelming joy in the 10 years or so that I’ve played the instrument.
For some mysterious reason, everyone seems to forget the significance of this final night performance. This was the FIRST and ONLY time a steelband has received an ENCORE IN PANORAMA. The thousands at the savannah were so deeply moved that a minute after the band finished playing, spontaneous chants of 'We Want More' erupted from the North and Grand stands. This is the power of All Stars displayed in the most raw, unadulterated way. Congratulations Trinidad All Stars!!

Can you believe we placed 18th in prelims and came 3rd in semis and finals where we tied with Exodus. Back then you couldn't beat a band with their own song apparently. We still got a standing ovation and an encore which we could not deliver due to it being a competition. This signalled the return of the Mighty Trinidad All Stars after a few years in the wilderness. Long live T'dad All Stars.
I don't see how they placed third...Renegades was good though...but I go back and forth after listening to each and after I listen to each I say yeah, they should have won...maddening

Yes I totally agree, this performance was actually skirting with heavenly, musical glory. Curry Tabanca in 1987, basically set the epitone of what a Panorama arrangement and performance should compose and incorporate and "Dus In Deh Face" took it to that heaven bound accomplishment.

I would say Woman on the bass, then Curry tabanca. When you look back after all these years those two tunes are still rocking Trinidad. After them would be The bee's melody by jit and the mystery band. Dus in dey face would be my 5th.

The 1st time in the history of Panorama that a Steel Band got an encore from the Whole Savannah. I was there, ex-TTT employee. WOW Unbelievable
this tune puts them over the top of the food chain this is the greatest band in the world at their very best

Can't name just one....but if you had a top 5 "Smooth" and 'Jit" would have to be among them HANDS DOWN....this def makes the list
Trinidad All Stars..... Woman on D Bass... Leon Smooth Edwards. (1980 winning Panorama) ...Go anywhere in the world that's the tune they know
in Second place I would put Renegades...Mystery Band... Dr.Jit (Panorama winner 1993)
