@@DanBen07 What exactly qualifies as an official expert to you??? 😂😂😂 You can't get a PhD is Star Wars lore (yet) but Alex Damon absolutely would if that were a thing.
For anyone wondering, in Star Trek TNG, it’s revealed that an ancient race seeded the galaxy to create races similar to themselves, which is the explanation for why almost every alien race is humanoid. I believe this is the parallel evolution bit that they mentioned early on
Or it may have been a very thin layer of beskar. He did say they "may need to start over." I assumed it was durasteel, but that one line makes me wonder.
I so thought UA-cam glitched and gave me one of SWE's Q&A videos but labeled it as WIRED instead, but a very pleasant surprise to see some of my favorite UA-camrs on this channel!
As far as the "Droid God" question goes: Nobody in the Star Wars universe is speaking English. Their universal language is called Basic, and all of the dialogue in the books/movies/shows/comics is technically using an English translation of Basic. As such, the droids aren't actually saying "Oh my god." They are (probably) saying some exclamation in Basic that has effectively the same meaning/usage.
I love how a lot of this was just "Well this falls within Legends so it's TECHNICALLY not cannon according to Disney but we're gonna reference it anyway because screw them."
Followed Alex and Mollie for years. Love their breakdowns. Two lovely human beings talking with great expertise and surprising humility about something that brings me joy :)
These guys went through an entire conversation about being a part of the Jedi religion but not having the force and didn’t even mention Chirrut Imwe once.
It's awesome to see how much Alex and Mollie's channel has grown within the Star Wars Fandom! I remember first having subscribed to Star Wars Explained when it was formerly known as Star Wars Minute and Alex only had about 1k subs at the time. It's been a long and awesome journey loving Star Wars with you guys!!
On the movie order, my kids liked the order I presented them: 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 - with a flash back on Anakin (1,2,3) just after the father reveal, and keeping the climax ending of 6 at the end of the first two trilogies. My 2 cents.
Being a non-force sensitive child of a Jedi reminds me of the early-2000s movie sky high where they showed the powerless children of super hero’s and how sucky their lives are 😂
Yeah but one of them had powers, he just hadn’t gotten them yet. And the other one was lying about it the whole time. LOL Their lives did suck though because they were assigned as side kicks. Haha
Not sure Vader could actually go to sleep outside of his meditation chamber. You know given the constant excruciating pain he is in. I could imagine him passing out in the bacta tank in his castle while discussing something with a royal guard. Given that is the one place he’s not in any pain.
Yeah I was going to say the same thing, it’s a funny concept to think about Vader falling asleep, but he was unfortunately always in pain and discomfort when outside his resting areas.
I agree, they are one of the most expensive items in the Galaxy. Also, kyber crystals aren’t really expensive. They’re extremely rare, but they’re not good for anything in the civilian sector. Alex pointed out that lightsabers are expensive, but that’s because it’s a rare weapon that is impressive, functional, useful, and frankly just really badass. The crystal alone though isn’t worth much. And since no one except Force users can create a lightsaber (due to the crystal needing to be bonded with the user and activated by the Force), you can’t use it for anything at all.
@0:50 I was under the impression that Jango and Boba weren't actually Mandalorians. Jango was a bounty hunter who thought the armor and helmet looked cool (and it very much helped him with his job), and then Boba followed in his father's footsteps.
Pretty sure Din only had a beskar helmet when he fought the mud horn. The rest of his armor was just made to look like Mandalorian armor but must have been made out of other material since beskar is so scarce.
Glad to see Alex and Mollie on another channel! Their channel is informative and positive. The community is a bastion amidst all the fanbase drama. Definitely recommend a sub!
Re: Does Obi-wan know about Padme/Anakin: In the novelization of Revenge of the Sith, there was a scene that may have been in the original script where prior to leaving to hunt Grievous, Obi-wan tells Padme everything that's happening with Anakin and says he's telling her this because he knows they're lovers and Anakin will need her emotional support.
For the vader sleeping question... I doubt it, due to the vader suit, it tortures vader constantly, so he can’t really sleep much in general. Palpatine designed it to punish vader for his failure
These guys are awesome ive been subbed to there channel for years, they need to do another one of these im sure there is an infinite number of star wars questions on the Internet!
Exactly. The armor Djin was wearing was probably durasteel or plasteel, especially how it crumpled and the coloration was different. The way Djin has his beskar matching as a set later implies the prior armor was certainly not a full set of beskar.
These comments are so weird. They were brought on to answer questions about Star Wars and people are upset because they refer to films/characters in the Star Wars universe. You may not like Rey or the sequels but that doesn’t mean NO ONE does.
Also, the sequels ARE canon. It will keep hurting people until they accept it, since the creators and showrunners and history group won't stop making references to the sequels
Another thing that I find weird is that some people say that they arent experts or that they have no idea of what they are talking. Those people them bring up an answer to a question that is 10 times too long to be included in such a video and that dives way too deep into the lore for any casual fan to understand
force sensitivity being passed down through family lines isnt an isolated incident with the skywalker bloodline. ki adi mundi was allowed to have a family and had a lot of children, the jedi were allowed to continue their blood lines, they just were not allowed attachment to them
Surprised (for the question about non force sensitive believers) they gave no mention to the blind guy in Rogue One. Perfect example of a true believer who couldn't move stones with his mind, but clearly the Force was looking out for him.
According to Batuu rules, both Lando and Han were holding a Rule of Two, Han’s being the higher ranked of the two. Lando’s sylop would have thrown the advantage to him.
There is the dude in Rogue One, blanking on his name. Wouldn't call him a Jedi, but he definitely seemed to follow the Force and somewhat the way of the Jedi. The Force is with me and I am one with the Force.
Chirrut Îmwe. Yeah. The Clone wars and the canon comics have reference to the fact that not all force users are Jedi or Sith. The Night sisters for example are neither. But they use the force. Îmwe is a force user that isn’t Jedi or Sith
There are non force sensitives who practice the way of the force in canon. For example, the Jedi temple guards were not force sensitive, yet followed the Order and its teachings.
Biggest question I’ve ever had is: Once, a novelist wrote (I believe in the series where Jacen became Sith) that a Jedi had had his Achilles tendon severed. Would this then place that timeline somewhere between the death of the mighty warrior and my birth? Not THAT long ago, and in a galaxy far, far enough away that they couldn’t possibly have known about Achilles.
