  • ( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS is a modern collectible. In this TFLcar Feature we review and evaluate recent cars that we think one day will be collectible classics. In this first episode we check out the 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS with the 260 HP Turbo-Charged engine. What makes this car unique and why will do we think it will eventually go up in value with classic cars collectors? And how long will it take before the car becomes collectible? And of course how fast is it from 0-60 MPH? Those are questions that we answer in this new feature and modern collectible drive and review.

    Pre-owned cars in some ways better than brand new cars. Thank God for pre-owned cars!

    I've owned three different Cobalt models and I have to say the SS SC was my absolute favorite. Is is incredibly fun to drive and it is still beautiful without looking outdated. I traded it in years ago for a Mustang GT and I still miss it.

    ss economy class...proved that chevy was king..from the corvette down to their economy they made speed...kudos to the performance guys...just goes to show you you can still turn sedate rides into performance machines just like muscle car days of old turning family sedans into monsters...tradition of performance rages on:)

    Yes it does. It's usually referred to as the G85 code as pulling the trunk carpet up, on the left side of the trunk floor is a sticker denoting G85 as the build code indicating the car has the LSD option.

    Not to mention the gmpp stage 1 turbo upgrade that bumps it to 280hp 320ft/lbs and maintains factory warranty. I have yet to see a car at this price level that makes me want to get rid if my 09 SS. It was faster around VIR than the EVO, STI, and challenger srt8, plus I average 24 mpg not too bad for the $16k I bought it for used in 2010

    The 2003-2004 SVT Cobra Mustang would make a great video for this series. The SVT cars are collectible by themselves, but these cars were extremely unique in fords line. It was pretty much the only mustang that came from the factory with a rear independent suspension plus it had 390+ hp stock.

    Great choice! As the proud owner of a 2009 Cobalt SS turbo, I understand better than most that this car is extremely fun. One of the most underrated aspects is the fact that, unlike many muscle cars, this sport compact provides a great view of the road, not a huge, view-blocking hood that you must peer over. I just had mine tuned to produce over 300hp and 340ft/lbs. of torque at the wheel. Can't wait to smoke some unsuspecting V8 cars...and I'll still get 35 mpg cruising to find my victim!

    Since these cars are turbo charged they can beat many cars on the street, just raise the boost to 16PSI and you got a Pocket Rocket lol. They are extremely fast once Tuned to about 350Wheel Horsepower.

    • @turbo_co27
      @turbo_co27 5 років тому +1

      KreativeCuts well, also excluding all the other people that have them, the wrecked ones, and the ones boomers turned into DF Goblins. SS’s are vastly different reliability wise than the base models, and the turbo is great. Replace the timing chain and head gasket once at like 150k, use 91, and you’re golden. SC’s are a tad different, but they’re also pretty good.

    I have 1 of 479 sedans built ( 1 of 67 in sport red tint coat). This is a helluva fun car and tears ass around the track. Given how rare and hard it is to find a Sedan only a few years after production ended, I'm sure these will be collectables down the road. It will be hard to find one that wasn't modified though.

    Cobalt SS is definitely faster than the Neon. It has more horsepower, more torque, limited slip differential and they weigh nearly the same.
    Plus the Cobalt comes with standard launch control, steering wheel activated bluetooth and air bags in every direction in case the Neon you're pulling away from decides to side swipe you out of jealousy.

    I test drove a 2007 a few years ago, and it just freaked me out. I couldn't take off in first gear without getting a little burn out. I took it back to the dealership and test drove an Impala SS with the 5.3. I was sold. Worse fuel economy by far, but MUCH better manners. They had 1 other car on the lot that I wanted to drive. The wife of the dealership's owner's 2007 Caddy CTS-V, with a 6 speed. With 82K miles, impeccably maintained, and for only $22K. Which one do you think I bought ?
