I have the k-tune clutch set for my 07 8th gen fg2. Bin stacking parts for the last 2 years waiting to get my license back soon. The fresh jdm k24a runs great. An ill have about everything new to rebuild the whole car soon. Then I'll have it painted an put all the nice new parts on.

Loved my 9th gen si. It gave me 200k of zero issues as my dd. Even mostly stock she did well in the twisties and got 33mpg on the freeway. That k24 is no slouch and the extra torque over the k20 is much appreciated if you're planning on staying stockish. Biggest issue on that car is the engine access sucks and the fog lights are designed to catch rocks.
My brother bought the first new si think 2020 it was a dog he traded it for a 9th gen and Jackson racing supercharger with k tuned e 85 kit id 1100 injectors it moved for 375hp

Ah you gotta put Shane in a properly slow vehicle now so he can really complain. My 96 Ferd E250 with the Inline six does a cool 55MPH on the highway for that lovely 15MPG. When it rains out I can get the open diff open diffin' but that's about it
My 43 year old back hurts watching that bumpy ride. Looks stiffer than my '19 Western Star on leaf springs! Other than that, nice catch! Thoses 9th gens are really nice!

I had a 4 door 9 gen. It was slow, and it got kinda crap gas mileage(20-25). But!!!! It was a great commute car. Cheap to fix, comfy and quick enough to keep up with traffic. Still my favorite sounding Civic. BIG'OL Honda 4, 2.4L. Sounds deeeep.

I bought a ‘14 Civic coupe,non si three years ago to replace my high mileage and tired 92 Civic Si hatch as a winter/ work car. When I first got it,I left Vancouver island on February 3 2021, it was 10 degrees Celsius,got to northern Alberta about 15 hours later and it was -44. I shut the car off for a couple hours before we were heading into a pipeline camp. When I went to start it,it would shut off right away and it was way too cold to start farting around under the hood so I had it towed to a Honda dealer that week while I was at work.Turns out it was the air intake boot that had torn wide open from the extreme cold and the MAF sensor on the air box not getting a proper reading.Driving all night from the warmer coast to the Rocky Mountains will do weird things,I keep a spare in my car now because it’s only 25 dollars for a genuine Honda intake. Other than that it’s a great car and it’s the only time I’ve ever had something go wrong with any Honda I’ve had in 30 years and they have seen some rough times but never let me down. Love my near mint 01 Prelude as well. 😊

I would bet you can find some gently used Eibach sportline springs around, before some young whipper snapper decided he needed to go lower with cheapy Chinese coilovers. These proper brands that offer and inch/inch and a quarter of lower ride height are definitely the way to go. PS, your son might not exactly get it today, but one day he will appreciate why his father rolls around in old cheap beaters. Where do you think the money is really being invested in? So funny I have a 1985 Subaru rx turbo now many many motors and miles later has an 06 sti swap and wrx 5 speed , it’s always a trip, the old cars just have character, this untold story, hearing what older owners have done. One lady at the pot shop said she rode in my car in high school when it was fairly new and beat the hell out of it on the sand dunes. This Honda si is mint. Perfect daily, then race car material. It’s got serious potential.
