  • William Cooper, former president of the Southern Historical Association, presents a history of the lead-up to the Civil War, November 1860 - April 1861. The author looks at the divided populace in the North and South and the attempts at compromise to avoid war that failed upon the attack on Fort Sumter in April 1861. William Cooper speaks at the Atlanta History Center.
