Moved the ball way forward to try the first drill. Thought, how am I supposed to hit that. But, hit the ball flush, and seems to be solving all sorts of problems. Thanks for another great drill
This was a great session. I've been struggling with Feel & Real as it relates to the release, this video helped a ton. Adam is an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G coach!.
Thank you for this. Timing couldn't have been much better. Dealing with a left ankle injury, and found that my weight was favoring my back leg had caused some terrible things to happen through contact (mainly chunked shots). This helped me put my swing in a much better place so thank you.
The hammer the nail drill is one I use often, I have a tendency to feel disconnected and lose the feeling of the club face, This drill always brings me back in line.
Hi Adam, Great video as always! I was wondering if the hammering the nail analogy applies to the driver and fairway woods, as well as irons? Thanks in advance!
Not sure if you’ll see this question Adam, and this sounds odd, but is the downswing feel for you a push or a pull? You often mention turning through the shot from the top, but in relation to your hands, do you feel like you’re pushing through the ball or pulling the club through knuckles down?
Coach, in the beginning of your video, it listed the early release symptoms. I "think" I have a late release issue. Would i think to release earlier i.e. before the ball, trail leg etc as a feel instead of where your student felt which was after?
Often times, people who drag the handle through impact are people who give up the angle too early in transition. Make sure you set the club and create the appropriate angle between the lead arm and club in the takeaway and make sure you maintain good angle in transition… you will then be able to rotate and release the club accordingly
Adam, i am having trouble with my right elbow in transition. I can get the shaft over the ball, right elbow bent, but after that I am lost. Am I extending the right elbow from there ?? Does it stay at 90 degrees through impact. Does it extend to 35 or 25 degrees to release?? just kinda lost with this transition. Thanks.
Don’t do this, that’s correct. Haha. The way he’s showing it you’d have no chance to actually hit it. As you’ve discovered. Let the club square up and release more by your back leg, not trying to force it to the front leg. The turn brings the hands forward. It’s an optical illusion and I have no idea why they still teach this.
1. Check grip 2. Make sure you're not opening the face in your backswing or downswing 3. You also have to be rotating and getting your lead hip moving back and out of the way.
what in the, i went to the search bar looking up for a release video by you and didnt find anything so i just binged watched other vids and now this vid just got uploaded lol
@@PorzakGolf just watched the vid, for wedges you hold the face off, but for other clubs, would we see a roll release? for held off releases, i get like a chicken wing follow through
There’s vernacular in teaching these days (“Hand/traditional release” vs. “body release”). Sounds like what you’re saying is that both come into play. Is that a correct assessment???
By using the Hammering the Nail Drill, we like the grip of the club to hammer into the wall before the club head naturally releases! So to answer your question, we like the club to release after the ball.
So many gold nuggets in Porzak Golf vids. Thank you for doing what you do!

Your student looked great in this vid, props to him
You can tell Porzak has hit many a ball doing the forward ball drill. Love it!
Ahh.. the sweet fragrance of another Prozak golf lesson on UA-cam. Money!
👃🏽👃🏽👃🏽
Thats a great old school lesson that really helps me flush the ball again!! Thanks!!
I think I've been waiting for this my whole life 😂 thank yo so much!

Another brilliant lesson 👏 👍
so good as always
Would this also help staying in posture and help fight early extension?
Adam - how does this differ with the driver ?

Brilliant, just magical
Great lesson drill video tips
Is the release an active release where you’re actively thinking about releasing club? Or passive where it just happens automatically?
Simple xplaination & drill.tq
Are you actively unloading your wrist angles from shaft parallel to get the clubhead to the ball or is it all momentum?
Great question. I'd like to see the answer for this too!
Same! I consistently hit 6-7 degrees down on the ball, very low. I feel like i need the polar opposite of whats being described in the video.
@@Paddan5916-7 degrees is mint.
Porzak are you feeling downward pressure on the heel pad on the downswing
I drag handle to much popping up driver high on face and low irons do you have video for that? Thx
So if I’m dragging handle too much it could be I need more rotation? Thx

Agreed! My new fav!
What do you do if your arm flexibility is not good and you cannot externally rotate your trail elbow into your side like that?
Simply brilliant
Releasing “late” somehow allows me to rotate better and come more inside.
I tried these techniques and found the face was wildly open at impact. What is the correct feeling to square the face?
Don’t do this, that’s correct.

6:30 he goes over this fault. I have been guilty of it for a long time. The forward sway trying to create shaft lean.
If your hitting with a wide open face your too open at impact I focus on straightening my right arm (I’m right handed)
1. Check grip
2. Make sure you're not opening the face in your backswing or downswing
3. You also have to be rotating and getting your lead hip moving back and out of the way.

when I practice wedge half swing with this exercise, I usually "shank" the ball... bad synchro between hands ans my turn... :(

1:54. Good transition feel.
How do you top like that at the end of the swing
yup, great vid.
Interestingly enough, the golfers hands are still not in front of his trail thigh when the club is parallel. Anyone know how to “fix” that?
Will this help push high fade with driver?
Where do you release? Before or after the ball?

I like 4 inches in front t of ball seems like you get to left side better
Golfer in black to smooth!!!
This is absolute money
his instruction is great for 40 yr old players and younger. He teaches a very, body rotational swing...not very friendly for seniors of amateurs.
Reminds me of Tommy Fleetwood
Idiocracy.
Hi..do we have to intentionally close the wrist right after impact?
