Oh Emma , I thump up your video before watching it. Because I know in advance I will like it. I offer you this idiom: al fresco outside • We ate al fresco under the olive trees. • An al fresco performance of The Tempest was the highlight of our visit.
Hi Emma, I have a strong connection with food and my favourite idiom so far is "you can not make an omelette without breaking eggs". I hope to find more food idioms on you Chanel.
Hi lovely teacher! Watch your videos is enrich our vocabulary! I had no idea about many of these idioms even living in England, well I live in Yorkshire haha Love the end of the video lol
I definitely need to do a Yorkshire video for you! A few of my followers are living in Yorkshire too and have requested a Yorkshire video - it’s definitely on my list 😃
" Back to the drawing board" : having a second thought to reconsider , re-evaluate available options again, one of my favorites as we use it quite a lot at work, back and forward:). Ex: All the interviewed candidates failed, back to the drawing board on this. Thank you teacher Emma for the valuable lesson , have noted all of the idioms.
Thank you Emma :) 'it's not rocket science' is my favorite In my native language, we have something similar we say (literally translating) "it's not atomic science'
After a hard day at work I do love call it a day by watching any of your videos plus a cup of a good coffee. Yeah my dude if you have some doubts believe me learning English isn't a rocket science it's a piece of 🍰
Thanks for the lesson delivered on your UA-cam Channel, very useful, Pardon me, even though I am very grateful for your commitment, I would have liked it to be broadcasted without the background music.
Hey Alberto, sadly there's no pleasing everyone and when I don't have the music people complain and say it's boring, and then when I add it slightly in the background people complain. Not all my videos have background music if they focus on pronunciation, but some have it simply because more people request it. The background music during the actual explanation of this video is set to an incredibly low and unobtrusive volume too. Cheers.
No way! That’s so interesting! I’m even more curious to know why we say ship and you guys say train! Haha. Maybe it’s due to the geography of the countries. If you’re closer to water and have many ports hen maybe you’re more likely to use ship 🤔 I really don’t know! Haha
@@Pronunciationwithemma we say 'the train has left' means as well it's too late but I really ignore the reason why? although we're closer to water hhh😄
@@Pronunciationwithemma yeah, it's really interesting!) I tried to find out why, but didn't find anything about this topic( I think trains were and still are more popular than ships in our countries:)
I think "To kill two birds with one stone" is my favourite one, because I learn British idioms and learn English at the same time. Thanks so much teacher Emma!😊
Good morning Emma I am a bit confused about two idioms: get the wrong end of the stick and at crossing purposes. I was asking about my family and you told me about mine. When you said lunch on Sunday I thought you were talking about this Sunday and not the next. Which sentence refers to which and why ? Looking forward to,your reply Cheers
