Amaury, you are a master carpenter. Your first guest came bringing awesome treats for the dogs and humans. How sweet. Marie, that meal looked delicious. ❤
It’s a nice day in Sydney so far and the sun is shining. I’m 60 today. Every birthday is a good day. The chateau looks elegant and beautiful. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
That new tablecloth looks absolutely stunning on that table and it goes perfectly with the wallpaper. That countertop Amaury is building will be perfect in the kitchen knowing how Marie likes her own work area. She won’t have to run y’all off from the table now. ~ Sherri from Arkansas USA.

I sense a lot of Phillips magical touch in them. The finer details. That taller work area for Marie is going to be so great. Its a dream of mine to visit Lalande. It will probably never happen but at least we have the videos to watch. Thanks to all of you.

Amaury, woodworking is very gratifying. I love being able to fix or make something that is needed. I made new railings for my front porch and back stairs. And enjoyed every minute of it ❤
I'll say it again, and take your lesson from the snow monkeys area: give the peacocks an area of their own, with a kind of barn, maybe over where the sheep field is, and they will use their own spaces. Our peacocks loved to roost, like birds do, and they needed a big ole birdhouse. Your terrace is the closest thing to a framed-out barn, so you can't blame them for wanting to roost right over your nice table. PLEASE if you want peacocks, get someone in to help you build a nice area for them.
I’ve lived all my life in the US. Weighing using metric is by far the easiest and most accurate measuring system. Much easier to divide grams by 50% than to measure out half of 1/3 cup when dividing a recipe!
I think the 'American' system is just the old British/English system before they converted to metric. Anyway, it's all in the taste ...no matter what system is used.
I've watched various US UA-cam cookery channels, most seem to prefer metric for accuracy. Cups are ok when it's not too crucial for a successful recipe.
Our automated servants are called Rosie (robot from the Jetsons) and Johnny mop (After the Australian singer John Farnham). Our original was called Sadie after one of John Farnham songs - Sadie the cleaning lady. Sadie’s gone to clean my son’s house as we upgraded to Rosie. I seriously never thought I needed an automatic vacuum. My hubby is obsessed with stupid technology but don’t tell him these are a game changer ❤
I have always wondered how such delicious meals on a large scale were prepared and delivered out of a kitchen with no bench space to speak of, apart from the kitchen table (or in Marie’s case, sometimes a designated ‘half’ a table)! 🤣 Amaury to the rescue once more.👏 Go Maria!🥰
I completely understand why Marie wants that work surface!!! Love watching her extend her artistry from her beautiful florals right into the kitchen!!!! Love love LOVE
Adding a raised worktop to the big ovens is so right for a working kitchen. I find most kitchens too short and I'm only 5'6. I hope Marie can prep and create in greater comfort. Now she needs anti fatigue mats.
So happy that we get a closer look at the old oven/stove. Even getting the info that the mystery box with chains is in fact a mystery to you all as well is satisfying to know. Thank you 😃. Next on the wish list is for the start on the lake. Most interested to learn if vegetation removal from the lake bed is required and how that all plays out. Really enjoying this channel!!

I was reading about your Briffault Stove in Monets house. the top part is A grillade. It is a hood over a grill to create a draft to draw smoke and fumes up into the stove’s chimney; a door on the front slides down to form a sort of seal around the grill area to intensify the draft. Incredibly expensive in their time.
