After watching all of these conversions I would never buy another camper. You could have the perfect camper by building it yourself.

The max air fans are great. I had two in my 27 ft fifth wheel. We would turn those on high and open a window and the trailer would cool off in minutes. A must to have. Great trailer and video. Thanks.

Amazing work and love your setup.
I’ve been researching and designing my trailer set up for a couple years now and love yours.
I have another year or two before I get started as want done for when wife retires.
We have a 35 ft park model that stays in a park.
I was amazed and blown away by the amount of battery storage you said you have.
I backed the video up 3 times to make sure I heard correctly and read every comment and response.
I am curious about the battery storage as I heard you say 10000 amp hours storage.
I think that is amazing and you would be able to run for few days without anything else.
Just a bit of information on the solar setup and the power distribution system would be helpful and amazing.
Thanks for your help and advice.
You did a amazing job and could easily build and sell this unit very easily.
    Great job.

I have been watching for about 2 to 3 weeks now. I have an older 24’ enclosed. I have some adjustments to it by using a camper that is bad. Use both doors. Have actual man camper door entrance on side and put a wall up with a door for 16’ living in front and 9’ garage in back. Going full time live out of and just got enclosed on April 25, 2024. Lots of great ideas.

Great build. I do like the fact that there is a washer in there, as I cannot go anywhere near laundromats due to extreme sensitivity to fragrances. For me the only down side is the lack of natural light, and not having enough views, but I would feel a bit claustrophobic in there. We currently have a Trillium 5500, which has windows all around a fantastic cross-ventilation, so I have would have very high expectations in that respect, if we ever did a trailer conversion.

But in 90 plus degree days with no shade I couldn’t cool it with 2 portable units. Figure mini split will cool better but need something that can cool it through the hottest days. Mine is all open inside so no rooms. Thoughts?

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb  Рік тому +2

Our trailer is 8.5×20×7.5 so, we're 4 ft shorter in length and only 6 inches shorter in height. We have a 12,000 BTU Senville Mini Split. We spent our first summer in NW Arkansas, where temps easily reach the mid 90s and above and 80 to 90% humidity. We periodically gave tours of our conversion on some of the hottest days, and on several occasions, our guests "complained" because it was "too cold" for them inside. We also have friends with an 8.5×24 who have a 9,000 BTU Mini Split and have zero problems staying cool (they are Florida residents). I really think the 12,000 BTU will work fine. In addition, I'm not certain an 18,000 BTU unit is available in a 120 volt version. Seems to me that when I was researching them, all 18,000 BTU versions were only available in 240 volt versions.

@@billanddeb awesome info. I run my trailer on a 4500 watt inverter generator and have a 50 amp breaker panel in there so running 220 shouldn’t be an issue. They don’t pull a bunch of starting wattage and my electrician said he could hook up a 220 unit to my box fine. I’m not super knowledgeable about electric but yeah if 12k btu can keep it 70 on 95 degree day with zero shade then that is great. I don’t care if it’s 110 or 220. My generator is big enough. For some reason it won’t run both my portable units unless they start at same time. If one running and other kicks on it goes into protection. I think one of them is pulling too much but rather go mini split than spend any money elsewhere. When both start same time and run I’m at 25% of the generators capacity. One is 14k unit and one is 10k unit. But they won’t keep it cold on sunny day with no shade.
