I'm using J7 2016 right now, and I can say it's really good phone for the price. It never slowed down for me, and it runs everything without any problems, plus battery is a beast. J7 Prime also looks good, but since screen is not amoled and it's 1080P (which is a bit too much for Exynos 7870 I think), I rather went for cheaper option with almost the same specs.

I'm using J7 2016 right now, and I can say it's really good phone for the price. It never slowed down for me, and it runs everything without any problems, plus battery is a beast. J7 Prime also looks good, but since screen is not amoled and it's 1080P (which is a bit too much for Exynos 7870 I think), I rather went for cheaper option with almost the same specs. RAM management might be fixed with update to Nougat I guess, but if it stays the same then there's really no reason to go for Prime over regular J7. And Prime was also not available here when I was buying the phone.
I want to buy a phone but the morocco version of the j7 2016 also has exynos so is it better to buy the prime
Karim Ettahiri Well, J7 that I'm using is Exynos version, so you can go for it, I guess. Everything works perfect with it.
you can do better speed tests by disabling animations in the developer options

When you have 20 apps open and you choose the 20th app, it's almost always going to refresh. You should start choosing ones towards the middle of the list when testing out if they refresh or not.

you can find endless reviews on the J7 2016 . I think that currently the best bang of the buck for now, Samsung has already announced that this phone will be getting the 7.0 Nugget update.
the only thing that is VERY important that the J7 2016 is missing is the fingerprint luck.
while the J7 prime has it built in.
there is also more news from Samsung. the J7 2017 will be coming out very shortly . very little info on that phone .but what is known that it be coming out with android 7.0
David Woods Did it ever come out? I haven't heard anything. Just bought the prime cause my 2016 screen broke yesterday. Im disappointed in the screen resolution and the lower mp of the front camera
David Woods Maybe When I get my j7 2016 screen fixed, I can just use it for pics when Im out and watching videos at home on Wi-Fi. But that's a lot of keep up with two phones everyday.

What makes u more confused about j7 prime and j7 2016 is that j7 prime has fingerprint sensor but not amoled while j7 2016 is super amoled but no fingerprint sensor , help which one is better?
J7 2016 wins! bcoz j7 prime was definitely logging especially on high-end games, j7 2016 has 2gb of ram but it has a better performance than the 3gb ram of j7 Prime.

This is kind of a "noob" question but, how do you get to use the fingerprint scanner as a menu button to go back to the menu? Can't seem to do that. (I have fingerprint lock enabled.)

i can't belive how much j7 2016 screen is better no mathet is 720p amoled is amoled.
for everything except gaming prime is better so, if you dont want to play prime is the best option to go, better resolution, camera and is faster searching on internet so is better for me, however at gaming is easier to run a game in lower resolution as j7 2016 does, so a bit unfair there, so for the normal use of a cellphone prime is better thats enough for me, for playing i have my pc.

j7 prime display is TFT. I prefer j7 2016 SuperAmoled. for real colour when u snap a photo, choose TFT display.

yeah....better choose 720p smartphones. More responsive. You won't see much difference compared 1080p anyway. unless you look closely.

but i think the j7 2016 is faster in the game because it loads the game with low resolution and it is always faster to load the game in low resolution rather than load it with high resolution(in that case the j7prime) load a high resolution game on both i am pretty sure j7 prime will win because it is high resolution than j7 2016.
nino jerwin cruz J7(6)'s 720p resolution still looks more radiant, considering the J7(6) has a Super-Amoled screen, compared to the Prime's 1080p resolution on a TFT LCD, which makes the Prime's display look old, dull and a bit dark. Moreover, both have 3300 mAh, but the Prime's battery isn't removable. I don't regret that I chose J7(6) over J7 Prime. Overall, the former is better.
