HAHHAHA same here
Good explanation of what to look for when composing an artwork as well as the batik technique. Simple, straightforward, and easy to follow. Thanks.
Really good job... keep rocking...
Thanks great job. Plan on trying it myself. Looking like alot of fun.
Awesome video! I teach kids Fired Arts primarily, w/other Art forms thrown in for fun - mosaics, canvas painting, drawing, etc.
This semester we’re introducing BATIK & tie dye. UR tutorial is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Thank U for sharing UR creative w/us!
Thank you - that all sounds so fun! I am absolutely in love with glue batik! Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a street map glue batik that I did on canvas paper. It turned out really well and for students - canvas paper would be ideal! 👏🏼💗🎨
Perfect instructions! Thank you!
thanks for your clear demonstration.
Wooww. Very Beautiful 👍👍
Thank you for such a well done demonstration, using school glue to create a batik.
I will try it. Your tutorial was excellent. Thanks
Thank you :)
Great description of line and pattern!
This is just perfect for the classroom, thank you! I especially like the little visual cards.
Is it ok to let the paint dry overnight before washing in warm water? I might have to take a classes projects home and wash them out there bc the school doesn’t have warm water.
mine was so ugly after soaking it on hot water, this is a great tutorial btw
Me too , a bit of colors mixed up
Thank you for your prompt reply Samantha, will try some thicker glue. The stuff I have is not a wash away one but will keep trying different things, m y little group(all in their 80’s) love silk painting so having used gutta as a resist find the tubes hard for them to handle and also very expensive to experiment with. Will keep trying though and thank you again for your good ideas and also answering my query. Love from the Cotswolds in England.
That is awesome - hope you are able to figure something out...the only thing I could come up with is maybe putting glue into the squeeze bottles where you can trim the tips with scissors and make the openings larger? Here is a link to what I’m referring to.

Thanks for your nice reply! Made my day! 😊
Thanks so much! Just lovely, and such a nice alternative to using hot wax and dyes.I also really appreciate your attention to design elements in your tutorial. I'm wondering if the glue will crackle nicely when scrunched up (if desired) to give that nice batik crackle effect, allowing the paint to seep into the cracks all over the design? Thanks!
Excellent.. I was searching for such an idea for my students. Will definitely try this and teach my students this process of batik. I have already taught them "Batik on paper" on my channel. Thank you so much Ma'am. Love from India❤️🙏🏼
Thank you , it was very helpful!
wow amazing madam thanks for sharing interesting
that's my art teacher :D
Thank you samantha for helping me for our project
😊 Glad I could help!
this was a good idea using the glue
Thank you. I think I’m going to try it today, ‘ can’t wait to show kiddo’s
when finishing painting is it going to laundry?
you can iron on freezer paper and when its done you can peal it off
As an high school student it helps me alot thanks samantha ☺☺
So glad! Good luck on your project!
Superb work. Keep it up. Your explaination is too good😊
Thanks a lot for your video, it’s really awesome 😍😍
Thank you! 😊👏🏼
This would be great on a tshirt.
can i use melted crayons or colored pastel to color the batik?
Awesome project
🥰 Thank you!
Can I also use gun glue ?
What kind of paint did you use
So we can use any acrylic paints ?
R it's paper or cotton cloth.
How do the acrylic paints feel on fabric after being washed and dried? Are they stiff? Did you add a fabric addictive to the paint?
Which glue are you using
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😍
thank you this is really help full for my project😊😍
you filipino or something?
Ťhə łāśt보행자 why would you ask that
Very nice!
Thank you! 💕
What type of glue
8 Gold??
If I do this on a T-shirt, can I hand wash it? Will the colors fade? Is there anything that I can do to acrylic paint to make the colors last if I am doing this on clothing?
+Marie Muma Yes, you should be able to hand wash it. If you use regular acrylic paints, it may fade a little more each time it is washed. You could try mixing some textile medium with your paint to prevent the fading. Textile medium is available at most craft stores. Hope that helps!
Wonderful substitute to wax / gutta. Does this technique work on silk where the colours are a bit like watercolours? Thanks for sharing
I have not tried it on silk...you could always test in on a small piece first to see if it works!
Hey why is hot water use for batik
When doing the batik, do you use acrylic paint? And do you have to pretreat it ? Thanks
Yes - I use acrylic paint. I have not ever pretreated it. 😊
Glue for paper?;?
I did this in art class
Is this a normal school glue?
ummm why your finish product's glue line is more lighter than before?
+Wolfie the reason is...when I applied the acrylic paint it touched and covered some of the edges of the glue. So when the glue is washed off, it reveals the fabric color underneath and because that area is a little thicker, it may appear lighter. Hope that makes sense!
yeahitmakessensethankyou
good work .
Thank you!! 💗
i'm trying to do it but the glue would spread and when it dried the surface was flat-
What did you do after you dry the paint?
Washed it with warm soapy water to get the glue out....and then it’s done😊
thanks
Can i use poster paint????
No the colors will mix it wont stay on the fabric
Will it work on fine silk.?
I have not worked with silk, so I’m not sure...you could always test it out on a small piece first to see if it works.
Can we use any kinds of glue
Washable school type glue is what works best! Others types of glue don’t wash out completely, which means the white lines won’t show.
awesome
😊👏🏼💕
if you dry the fabric in the sunset the glue will be gone?
Mico John Luciano 😂
Lol wut?
No just relax it will not evaporate
Can I use poster paint? plss answer🙏
I have not tried it...so I’m not sure. An easy way to test it - would be to paint a small area of the fabric and then see if the poster paint washes out...if it doesn’t wash out of the fabric - it should work! Hope that helps!
Poster paint is water soluble so no
Hi Ms. Wood I was in her art class
Congratchuulayshun
This is my school project but we cant use pencil me and my classmates are just allowed to used a paint brush and it was pretty hard because im doing this for the first time. Ive done a mandala and it looks great
By the way this is a nice video and your work are extremely incredible
Thank you! I hope your school project turns out well! I wouldn’t worry too much about not being able to use a pencil...batiks can be even more beautiful and interesting when the lines and shapes aren’t perfect! 💗🎨
Thank you!
we have a group project about this and the students (us) are having a problem taking the glue off the fabric. we used acrylic paint and i know its non-washable, but our teacher said that if we wash the glue off with water, the paint might come off.
so yeah. im really anxious that our work will be ruined if we soak it in water. does really putting the fabric in warm or hot water takes the glue off? or does it have some other techniques that we can easily take the glue off of the fabric?
+wotprime03 fff Soaking for 15 minutes in hot water definitely helps dissolve washable glue, and in my experiences the acrylic paint always stayed and only faded very minimally. Hope that helps!
Hi - great tutorial!! What paint do you recommend?
Any type of acrylic paint works well. You can buy affordable acrylics in the craft section at stores like Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby (brands of paint like Apple Barrel, Folk Art and Anita’s all work great!) Hope that helps!
The fabric absorbs my glue *need help*
It should still be fine...my glue absorbed into the fabric somewhat too. Just make sure you are making a thick line with the glue. Hope it turns out well!
Thanks.
But pl explain in hindi also.
Hey it's Sumaya and also my friend Malak that used to go to Pope as well says "I miss you" I will keep in touch with you. Also, I'm planning on becoming an artist as my career
