A huge THANK YOU to Lagunitas for having us and sharing some incredible tips for making Hop Water 🔥🙌 Stay tuned for more info on making hop water at home later this week! 🍻🤘
I love everytime I buy hoppy refresher getting ID'd for a so near zero product ha ha ha but this gives me a lot of ideas of how to better make my own! Thank you MoreBeer!
Great vid, and love how approachable these guys are. Love Lagunitas beers as well. Just watching the interaction between Vito, Jeremy, Mark, and Brian makes me wish I worked in the industry. A lot of cool information shared - things that a homebrewer like myself doesn't think of. Not sure that I'll be trying to make my own hop water anytime soon. I'm one of those dudes who likes beer.🍻
It's been a long time, but nobody has responded. My guess would be that he means putting the hops into a dry-hopping container of some kind, such as a sight glass, and purging that container with CO2 before dropping the hops in. This prevents the introduction of unwanted oxygen in beer, and perhaps this has an effect in the hop water as well (such as why they boil the water to de-gas it).
@@MoreBeer_ I have a video posting tomorrow about a year's worth of HopBoxes from YVH and mentioning MoreBeer and your Komos Kegerators as being inspiring to do Lagers. I swear the Komos kegerators make amazing fermentation chambers, especially for low temp lagers. I'm just about ready to do the assembly video to turn it into an actual kegerator, but it will be missed as my go-to fermenter for lagers. I may have to either do a DIY glycol system or actually spend some money on a pre-built glycol system, which of course MoreBeer will be my first place to look if I don't go DIY.
Just found this and love it as I've been making a bunch of hop water lately. One thing I missed, before adding hops, what's the recommended pH to drop to??
3.2-3.6 pH range. Check out the full recipe and instructions here! www.morebeer.com/articles/Hop_Water?srsltid=AfmBOop3YgBKkV-dwadB0ooWUX3ZYDerQomnh9dzBKcZXFHmPf6MbaNl
The guys doesn't really explain how to do the yeast addition. Do you add dry yeast to the fermenter or do you add wet yeast from another fermentation to this? And how much?
Hi ... if i want to bottle/Can hop water. What would be the shelf life of hopwater ? How do someone enhance shelflife of hop water ? Do we need to pasturize the bottle/can ?

That brewery setup is awesome. Can't wait for all the videos to come from it
Good one Vito - I have lots of homegrown hops so looking forward to your upcoming video as a basis for experimentation Cheers
Awesome 🤘
Around 16:50, he suggests making sure the hops are "purged" prior to adding them. Can anyone help clarify this?

Love these videos, especially this one and the one with one of the oldest home brew shops in CA.
We appreciate that! Cheers, Mike!

@@MoreBeer_ Got it, found that one now, 🍻
These guys are smart. Definately
Makes me respect lagunitas.
They are incredible brewers with a ton of knowledge! 🍻
Hop water would be a shift for me. I like beer and I like my beer to taste like beer.
I really really want to try this
Going to try this
What a great video, hop water has been on my wish list for some time, can't wait for the info for making it at home.
Glad you enjoyed! We'll have a homebrewing video on hop water out this Friday! 🍻
