Meet the Contributor Michele Hollis

Michele Hollis, MD, is HorseGrooms' in-house physician. She is an emergency doctor certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has been treating equestrians with minor medical complaints and injuries since 2013. She is the sole practitioner for her own HollisMed LLC.
Hollis really values the contribution grooms make to the equestrian industry, but also thinks many grooms don't take good enough care of themselves. She is passionate about contributing to HorseGrooms by sharing things that make it easier for grooms to take better care of themselves (and not only of their horses...)
Each winter, Hollis migrates to Wellington, Florida, for the show season, where she serves as a mobile doctor for humans, similar to a veterinarian for horses.
Throughout the rest of the year, she remains available for virtual consultation with established clients and serves as a medical coordinator for horse shows close to her home base in Virginia, including Upperville, Capital Challenge, and Washington International.
Her involvement with the hunter/jumper industry began in the late ‘80s as a working student where she learned to appreciate the hard work and dedication required to care for horses.
Hollis not only wants to share her knowledge and experience online on horsegrooms.com, but also invites grooms with complaints or questions to contact or visit her at a horse show or in the HorseGrooms Community (community/horsegrooms.com).
