This series is still close to me. I am Ukrainian, I live in Kyiv. My godfather was in the group that made the arch for the fourth reactor a few years ago.
He also often went on business trips to both Chernobyl and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
And right now, this series is still relevant, not even from the perspective of the tragedy itself, but from the perspective of the nuclear threat. As you already know, russia invaded Ukraine a year ago. From the beginning of the invasion, they occupied the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. But fortunately, the NPP is back under the control of Ukraine. But russia still occupies the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. The workers are held captive for almost a whole year. We also do not forget about nuclear blackmail and threats from russia. With this video, I want to draw attention to this problem again. Chernobyl has already shown what a lie can lead to. Now just imagine if something happens at the largest nuclear power plant in Europe or if russia decides to use nuclear weapons.

Lies cost far too much
Every episode you make about Chernobyl makes me cry. I cant believe those young men that sacrificed theirselves for this disaster were under 30 years old, that firefighter guy was 25 and his skin got peeled of like a knife. Your editing skills are out of this world
2 things really struck me with this video. 1) “every generation must know their own suffering.” I have never heard more truer words… and I wish, I wish with all my heart, it wasn’t true. 2) The use of Boris saying “it’s beautiful” to the caterpillar at the end, showing the human heart and humanity’s ability to have hope, no matter what. You are a beautiful editor, and I wish you upmost safety in Ukraine right now. Never give up hope 💛💙💛💙

On 4:18 when he said “we would all be rewarded….and our time to shine” it’s not even good for him to say because what was the reward, the cost of lives to be killed and for what was the purpose of nuclear powers anyway.
