Don't know who chooses singles but this is the one.. 🔥🔥🔥
It has a lot to do with production values and marketability. In this case, the lyrics might hold this back from significant radio play, particularly the "if I had a..." parts and the use of the word "terrorist." Compare to the opening track from the album which has similar themes and slightly friendlier lyrics. Plus you don't want all your singles to be about how awful men can be. Even if the album isn't actually anti-man (being made by several men) it can come off that way and put a sour taste in listeners' mouths.
I say this as someone who loves both this song and the opening track; they're tied as my favorites from the album. It just wouldn't be good marketing.

Wow this new KMFDM track slaps! W... Wait a minute... Keep killing it, folks!
I get the KMFDM reference to this song... it sounds heavy-goth and you can dance to it. This is the only song on the new album, I loved immediately, #1st listen 🎶. Garbage is my all time favorite band, and Im struggling to like NGNM and I wasn't fond of Strange Little Birds, except for Empty. I loved NYKOP released after the 7 yr hiatus, and every album before it...back to the Debut. I know artists deserve room to grow, but I think they could've composed better sounds. The song's themselves aren't cohesive, let alone the sound of the album, as a whole. I'm dissappointed bc every member of Garbage is sooo very talented and capable of introducing and changing the modern day trends in music, as what happened in the 90s. The 90s was an amazing decade for music if you were around for what was left behind... ie hair-bands, glam rock, heavy metal, from the late 80s.
