- I visited my old apartment in the worst neighborhood in Tel Aviv. It is in the south of Tel Aviv, a poor, working-class part of the city compared with the fancy center and north. it has also drastically changed with the arrival of thousands of migrants from Africa who entered illegally in the last 2 decades.

The people were super nice and the market was as good as I remembered it. Is every big city destined to have these gaps, or can it be avoided. What do you think?
Every city has this. It's curious that Tel Aviv has a problem with illegal migrants as well. Europe and the USA are obsessed with this issue lately. Israel ... has bigger problems
🇮🇹 È un problema anche in Italia È così ma la gente sempre ha emigrato anche gli italiani hanno girato il mondo 🌏
you are complicit in the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of your government until you condemn it. I get that it comes at personal risk to you due to the nature of Israel, but thousands are dying due to the terrorism your country creates. Please, denounce the actions of Israel.
Never Again!
Channel owner, you seem to be a good person. Please stop the war on Gaza, resolve the issue, and let everyone live in peace. 🇪🇬

I was in Tel Aviv as a boy in 1982 and I didn't see one black person, including Ethiopians, in the whole of Israel let alone Tel Aviv. Times have really changed.
Lady was trying very hard to have improvements for her community.Very nice of her to dedicate a garden to the young gentleman .I think she would make a great neighbour. Enjoyable video 🙂
Thank you (:
Very welcome✌💖@@insightfulNomad
Wow, that woman at the end has such a beautiful spirit with her idea for the memorial garden. Maybe she should run for city council! 🤣
Fantastic video brother. Take me here!
Clatt the legend, thanks man
Great video! i love the interactions with random people in the streets. The lady at the end was very nice, she looks like someone who has many interesting stories to tell!
Thanks for watching!
Great video great food and beverages, great song from Eyal Golan Bil A'dayikh in the beginning, lovely people, I also love songs sung by legendary Ofra Haza, because resemblance of Temanim songs to our traditional songs are like twins from same jug.
amazing video my friend ilove it ♥ ♥ Egypt
Thank you very much!

Wow thank you ! I lived in hatkvah on Rehov hatikvah in 88 . This brings back memories . A lot of drugs and poverty here.
Great job. You really feel the neighborhood in your video.
Thanks!
I thoroughly enjoy every one of your videos. I feel as if I am there!
I'm so glad!
Ofra Haza, she was the woman who sang the intro on the extended version of "Paid In Full" by Eric B and Rakim, a rap classic. Didn't know she passed away. ua-cam.com/video/z5iiEtFL69I/v-deo.html
She died young of HIV complications back in 2000
@@insightfulNomad Wow, where've I been? Thanks for the info.
I love your videos ❤ i laughed with this one 😂
I absolutely love that you share food and drink with each other to taste. We do it here in south of Balkans. It's a sign of respect. ❤
*though people are starting to become like northerners
I’d like to give that woman some money for her garden, and I know other American Jews who’d like to give
Wow that's a side of Tel Aviv I never expected to see. Fantastic job sharing it! I'm curious is there a side of Tel Aviv that's like Silicon Valley?
I'm not sure what Silicon valley looks like, but there are the areas where the high tech and startups are more concentrated
More in the suburbs north of Tel Aviv
It will be also interesting to see a video about the rich area in Israel, like herzliya and talk to the people around who live there
Alec! Why didn't you wanna share your UA-cam channel with the kids from Eritrea? Lol..
Awesome video! 💪
Haha I did!
I really enjoyed this.
i like that this is the "worst" area of televiv. lol you should come to the bronx in the 80s and 90s
You're right there are worse places out there, nobody ever claimed otherwise. I
@@insightfulNomadThis place has become worse than the south bronx.
Ofra Haza was very famous in my social network in Damascus back in the day, especially her two songs אם ננעלו' and שחרחורת. Seeing where she grew up here was an unexpected surprise! R.I.P.
The tragedy of Ofra's death is that she didn't need to die. By 2003, HIV was mostly a managable infection, and had been since 1996, with the advent of protease inhibitors. I often wonder why Ofra didn't seek treatment in New York, London or San Francisco which were on the cutting edge of life saing treatments, yes, even 20 years ago.
Maybe she didn’t know she had it…
I think there was a stigma to it. HIV is to some people an indication of a "sinful" lifestyle, and she came from a traditional Yemenite home. Apparently she was infected by her husband, who got HIV from his drug use. Her family was upset with the Israeli media when the real reason for her death was revealed.
Doctors who treated AIDS patients were reportedly "horrified" after learning Haza's decision to hide her illness. Dr. Zvi Bentwich, head of the AIDS Center at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, commented:
It brings us back to the beginning of the epidemic with the near-demonization and stigmatization of a disease that actually we are dealing with much better. [...] And in this unfortunate case, without having all the details, it appears that Ofra Haza almost died of the embarrassment, from the terrible fear to reveal her illness.

There was also speculation about how she had acquired the virus. Immediately after her death, the media placed blame on her husband, Tel Aviv businessman Doron Ashkenazi, for infecting her with the disease. Haza's manager Bezalel Aloni supported this belief, writing in his book that Haza acquired AIDS through sex with her husband. Later, it was revealed that her husband believed Haza became infected because of a blood transfusion she received in a Turkish hospital following a miscarriage. Ashkenazi himself died of a drug overdose roughly one year later on 7 April 2001.

I really enjoyed your video .. I haven't been to Israel for 40 years .. I live in toronto Canada
It's Palestine not Israel
@@leedohyun1639 No, it's Israel.
The word trust and the word Jewish are even poles of magnets, as hard as you try they always fail to attract each other.
Maybe Tel Aviv can import some Zabalin to take care of the sanitary conditions in there ;)
Way after Neveh Tzedek, which was founded in 1887.
Ofra Haza 💓💓💓

Tel Aviv was founded by the Jews, before it was just sand. Look what you guys did to Gaza, it could have been a nice place, but the money was fulled to fund terrorism. Hatred consumed the population, specially some fanatics.
