It's so interesting to see the two different styles of dancing together~ Like the way they move their bodies is slightly different. I'm not a dance expert or anything, but Taemin seems bigger, like the way he dances occupies more space? And all the moves are sharp sharp sharp and like he pushes each move to utter perfection? When he extends his arm, he extends as much as he can, or if he has to do a roll, he makes sure it's as roll-y (?) as possible... sorry, I don't know how to explain properly lol. Koharu looks to me like she's caressing the dance and flowing into each step. Like it's a long-time lover and she knows how to move with it, like she's comfortable with how the song moves through her. Somehow though, both of them just look balanced. My eyes just kept going from one to the other, like they don't overwhelm each other? Great chemistry! I loved it!
true. I'm also not expert in dancing but Taemin's dancing was really like that, for example in everybody, he extends his legs way too wide compared to others lmao
You are right. That's why I like Taemin's dance. His moves are sharp, powerful, full of emotions, he tells a whole story with his body. He totally forgets everything around himself and only lives for the music and moves. :) There are dancers whose moves are more smooth, loose or clean, but I personally like sharp and precise moves better. Taemin and Kai are the ones who represent that fully to me. :)
I think its because they are a man and a woman. Man and woman can be as good but there always are a difference, both can be sharp, powerful and use a lot of space (for this, as man are usually taller or bigger than woman they use more space), but man are always a bit more. We are the same, but different, if that makes any sense to you :p
I hope you guys check out Koharu's choreographies on youtube. She is an amazing dancer/choreographer. But I must admit Taemin'g expression is more impressive maybe because he's been trained to express his own music on stages for so long. It's his song after all. Also, he has longer arms and legs which helps him show more precise movements. I did notice he is a bit too fluid sometimes on TV. But here he dances perfectly maybe because he's dancing with Koharu.
Taemin's moves are a little looser than Koharu's, who's moves are slightly tighter, but ohmygod they're so FREAKING good!!!! I didn't once take my eyes off them and I was having a hard time deciding on who to look at. They literally looked like reflections of each other while they were dancing. It's amazing that we get to see dance practices like these too. I wish the Korean music scene would bless us with stuff like this as well.

The most insane thing for me (except the fact Taemin learned this choreo literally same day) was that I didn't even see Taemin to be out of breath at the end of the video, how on Earth is possible?!
Taemin's moves are sharp, powerful, full of emotions. Koharu's moves are smooth, clean and mature. They are the perfect combination. It's a perfect performance represented by two amazing dancers, who lives together with the music until the end. That is what called art!

I doubt anyone will see this comment but I’m honestly amazed by these two. I’ve looked up videos of Koharu dancing and she’s fucking amazing, as expected of a world class dancer. The fact that Taemin isn’t being outshined by a world class dancer says a lot. In fact I’d say Taemin dances contemporary better than Koharu (this is contemporary dance). Koharu on the other hand is better at street/hip hop. You can tell from looking they have v different dance styles and both are better suited to one more than the other but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re both insanely good overall. I just watched Koharu’s dance vids so I’m still in shock from how good she is. My jaw DROPPED, the amount of precision and control she has over her body is literally insane. Taemin literally never bores me with his dancing, every single movement he makes is expressive and full of emotion, he’s able to move every single part of his body in such graceful and elegant ways that it just entrances you. The feelings you get from watching Koharu dancing in her element (street) vs Taemin (contemporary) is v different. Koharu left me in complete shock while Taemin left me completely entranced. Amazing dancers.
I think maybe you haven't seen much of Koharu's contemporary side. She has been venturing & exploring that type more & more these days, so I've to somewhat disagree with you. I do believe around Sayonara Hitori (2016) was when she started doing more and more contemporary. She did Consideration, Crush, We Don't Give A, Bad Blood & many more. The ones I named were kind of her transition period where she was experimenting & blending contemporary elements. Her recent Urban Dance vids are mostly experimenting as well. Her sister, who's a singer (some type of traditional singer I believe), she danced along side her in her premier event & recently she was featured in a Japanese singer's MV & a Chinese (could be wrong) dance competiton as well. Guess what? All contemporary. Taemin does contemporary beautifully, but I believe his true strength lies/he feels most in his element in popping (the man can pop like there's no tomorrow: Super Car & Famous anyone 😍👏). But he's improved a lot in contemporary since Sayonara Hitori as he had more opportunities (Flame of Love, Move, Want, Good Evening). He's not afraid to try different genres & always works hard to perfect any genres & moves while showcasing his individual style as well. That's what I love about both. They don't box themselves or draw a line of limit. They are continuously pushing forward, evolving their styles & improving their weaknesses.
Taemin's movement is simple, powerful, flexible, sensible and beautiful. He is one of the most talented dancers in the world. Also he is handsome, kind and good at singing. He is so perfect.

i think few kpop idols are as refined as artists as taemin and jonghyun. i dare say some only want to be famous, some enjoy singing and are good at it but never really branch out to being their own creative director. taemin and jonghyun are so talented and so well put together, i call them artists first and idols second.
they're both incredible, but taemin is more sharp when it needs to be sharp, and smoother when it needs to be smooth, Koharo is amazing though, she came up with this great choreography in the first place, but I gotta give it to Taemin, not that I am biased or anything, but he is really approving that he is the best kpop idol dancer I've seen in this kpop era!! phenomenal!
They're both great here--still, I suggest that you watch other Koharu vids. Try Urban dance camp or her instagram acct. It behooves you to do so, if only for more exposure to combat or challenge bias (as needed).
how i wish all of those broadcast camera shoot the Goodbye stage just like this. it's simple but captures every single move perfectly. too many camera moves just don't give the choreo justice. this is so beautiful, Taemin is really like a sponge. he's really quick to learn the dance.. thank you for the beautiful dance practice, i'm waiting for SHINee comeback rn 😢😢👏👏
Koharu's moves are perfect, she's the choreographer and I really like her... Taemin probably has not those fluid movements, but because he has his own style and he kind of put his style in the choreography, he gives his own interpretation and I think this means being a real artist. I love this two together and I love the song and the choreography. They are both art.

I recently watched hit the stage AND I LITERALLY FREAKED OUT WHEN I SAW KOHARU WAS TAEMIN'S PARTNER LIKE OMG KOHARU IS ONE OF MY FAVE DANCERS PLUS TAEMIN. I was so excited with their performance and expected a lot, and well, they even surpassed my expectations! 😭💕 I'm so glad they won, their chemistry is no joke. I'd love to see more them dancing together. And okay, I'm kinda triggered with people saying Taemin danced better when they clearly have different styles. They're both equally amazing and talented. We just have different preferences, no need to validate that one dances better than the other cuz they're both legends 💜

there's a groundedness in koharu's dance that is unparalleled? i guess the best analogy is like her center of gravity never changes no matter what position her body is in. while it doesn't affect her agility she's so stable, in a magnificent way.

i think few kpop idols are as refined as artists as taemin and jonghyun. i dare say some only want to be famous, some enjoy singing and are good at it but never really branch out to being their own creative director. taemin and jonghyun are so talented and so well put together, i call them artists first and idols second.

they're both incredible, but taemin is more sharp when it needs to be sharp, and smoother when it needs to be smooth, Koharo is amazing though, she came up with this great choreography in the first place, but I gotta give it to Taemin, not that I am biased or anything, but he is really approving that he is the best kpop idol dancer I've seen in this kpop era!! phenomenal!
They're both great here--still, I suggest that you watch other Koharu vids. Try Urban dance camp or her instagram acct. It behooves you to do so, if only for more exposure to combat or challenge bias (as needed).

Koharu's moves are perfect, she's the choreographer and I really like her... Taemin probably has not those fluid movements, but because he has his own style and he kind of put his style in the choreography, he gives his own interpretation and I think this means being a real artist. I love this two together and I love the song and the choreography. They are both art.
They are both amazing in this video but let's be honest...Taemin is king for a reason...He holds your attention anywhere...He's so charismatic and his dancing is superior

I recently watched hit the stage AND I LITERALLY FREAKED OUT WHEN I SAW KOHARU WAS TAEMIN'S PARTNER LIKE OMG KOHARU IS ONE OF MY FAVE DANCERS PLUS TAEMIN. I was so excited with their performance and expected a lot, and well, they even surpassed my expectations! 😭💕 I'm so glad they won, their chemistry is no joke. I'd love to see more them dancing together. And okay, I'm kinda triggered with people saying Taemin danced better when they clearly have different styles. They're both equally amazing and talented. We just have different preferences, no need to validate that one dances better than the other cuz they're both legends 💜

there's a groundedness in koharu's dance that is unparalleled? i guess the best analogy is like her center of gravity never changes no matter what position her body is in. while it doesn't affect her agility she's so stable, in a magnificent way.
