NZ: we just hit the soundboard randomly and called it a day also fun fact, here in nz we use our old air raid sirens for the fire brigade. Sounds pretty similar to the American tornado siren. Reason from what I remember was because almost all firefighters are volunteer, which means they're doing their own things and cell phones or pagers are often unnoticed and unreliable, vs an extremely loud blaring siren at all hours of the day and night will get you up quick. Where does this meme come from?
I live in Israel and Nobody has ever seen a tsunami, tornado or floods in there. But the siren is kinda creepy since they play it when there are bombs drop or they play it at the day of the fallen soldiers/cops. But I'm used to the siren, it's not scary in a way of it being in a horror game, it gives the Israel citizens anxiety.

NZ: we just hit the soundboard randomly and called it a day also fun fact, here in nz we use our old air raid sirens for the fire brigade. Sounds pretty similar to the American tornado siren. Reason from what I remember was because almost all firefighters are volunteer, which means they're doing their own things and cell phones or pagers are often unnoticed and unreliable, vs an extremely loud blaring siren at all hours of the day and night will get you up quick. They play the air raid siren at exactly noon everyday (in my town) too. Lunch time, run and hide! Though, ironically, we have no basements or bomb shelters anyway lol

Also my town was quite touristy before the pandemic so when I was working I would have to calm customers down lol
