  • As professional athletes coming into any professional sports, you don't get to determine where you will play for the first years of your career. You don't get to pick your coach, teammates, GM or fans like you do in college. Sometimes it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't. Here's an athlete it didn't workout for as of now. Here's 3 reasons why I think their growth was abruptly stunted. Who knows, maybe they'll return to form. I sure hope so. Thank you for watching. Keep it up!!!!! Mini Tums is stunted growth, you say they didn’t have anyone to support them or give them direction. So here’s my word to you. Alimo's story is the same as a lot of other NYC ballers. They have the skills to go further, but are afraid to leave NY. And some think they are good enough because they are great streetballers who play for some coach who let's them do what they want on the court. Once they get to college, they have to play a system, run plays, and are forced to work on things they don't think are important. And then being a team player becomes overwhelming for them, so they quit, and go back to NY.

Thanks so much for doing this vid. He was by far my favorite on the and 1 tour. I was a tall and skinny guy, so i always related with him and his skill set. Being 6'5" myself and going to high school up in Maine, i had certainly had the height and wingspan to play a 4 or a 5, but i never was that tall prior to my freshman year in HS, prior to that i was a PG and SG, (sometimes SF), so that was my skill-set. Back in 8th i was a mere 5"10, and grew those 7 inches over the following two years. So i was more of a point forward or a wing, who worked my ass off and developed great post moves to go with my existing wing skill-set. Which is why when it came time to play in college, the fact is even small d2 schools in east bum-fuck Maine still usually, (which mine did), had guys 6'7" or taller play the power forward and center, with guys my height being either short PF's, or average sized sf's. So i was lucky in that i already had this ability to play a wing position. And that's the exact style of play the Black Widow had, which was why i loved him the most of anyone else on the tour.

I played with the and1 guys a ton of times. AO and Spyda were the best I played with. I never played with Alimoe or Rafer. Spyda was really good but he lacked key things. He was athletic and explosive. What he lacked though was basketball awareness and situational awareness, plus he couldnt shoot and was very short. He was maybe 5'7 or 5'8 which hurt him on defense. He was energetic as hell and physically strong as hell.

AI,Kobe, And Alimoe my favorite hoopers of all time. Watching them made me a want to play the game. The swag the style but most importantly the heart they all put into their games. You could see it. They left everything out there on the floor. Plus Alimoe game was so polished for being a street ball player it was smooth. Those AND 1 Mixtapes had a huge impact on the game and the culture idc what anyone says.
