    I have gotten in the habit of ranging my target; loading my arrow & adjusting my single pin sight in that order so I dont forget! My son dry-fired his PSE Fortis at a tournament we were at last year. We had just talked about paying attention to what you are doing and he started talking to a fellow in our group instead of the task at hand and the next thing i knew, we had parts all over us. He definitely has a routine he follows now!. He was lucky like you - he didn't have any damage to his bow. Love your videos & enjow seeing your improvement!

    Brother I put a sticker on my raiser at eye level that reads” Load Aim Fire”. It helps to remember to nock and arrow first and to think of only that shot. Good luck

    You said it right, Take your time and become a study and find your own rhythm to the draw. Fine tune your technique and keep shooting in sets on a daily until you feel completely "Proficient" in what you do then move on slowly to longer distances. Hunting by bow is close range anyway at between 20-40 yards average then the deer have to face a proper direction for you to have a perfect shot and that's if nothing else is distracting you at all like tall bush or branches or bugs. The real deal is different than just a stationery target but just as fun. I actually purchased new strings myself and am about to get them strewn on soon, Can't wait. Also remember, Deer can hear and smell you so definitely stalk one with the wind against as an advantage to you and "DO NOT" have on scented anything (Wash obviously but no colonge and scented deodorant) Just Keep Shooting, At your pace but definitely make the shot count!👍

    Hey Brother. Those notes are golden. So many people need to hear that. Including me. I started using a ground quiver that I modified, so, I can take almost 2 dozen arrows out with me to practice. I physically have to bend down to grab an arrow. I just made that part of my routine. Less chance of me forgetting to nock an arrow. Keep grindin'. It's a quest for perfection in something that can't be perfected. Just remember what you said, the most important shot is the one you're taking. Try to make it better than the last one.

    Good lesson learned. There was a time, just 2-years ago, when I dry fired 3x in 2 months. Rushing is a shot killer. I’ve been shooting archery for 25 years, and still not immune to thoughts while shooting. Thoughts have no value, thinking is what’s important. Think through each shot, from arrow nocking through shoot execution. BTW, if your arrows need new fletchings, send them to me. Always happy to help you out!

    I love the honesty and work you're putting into it. Keep the great videos coming! I highly suggest checking out the Stan Solex and B3 Hawk with the flex connector before going with the wiseguy. You can set them nice and short and adjust so you can wrap your knuckle without fear of them going off. The wiseguy is great but it's light.

    Realistically for hunting, ideal shots are under 30. If you wanna get better at archery as a whole, you’ll have to break out of that 20 shell eventually. But like I said, if it’s hunting, perfect the 20 and eventually get to that 30 for those times when the deer moves a little further back.

    There’s plenty of time before hunting season so there’s no rush. Slowing down is a good thing. I’m guilty of shooting arrow after arrow too fast too. I need to slow down and focus on each shot a lot more. I’m guilty of shooting too fast after the pin settles. Almost to the point of hammering my thumb button. Not quite but still pulling too fast and that ain’t good.

      @timbow50 Місяць тому

      @@pensnut08 do you hunt pigs year round there where you live in the south? We hunt them here Texas panhandle until about June when the temps just make it miserable. Naturally we don’t have forests which help hold pigs but mainly open treeless plains with a few drainages with some trees and brush for them. When it’s nasty hot they don’t move until like midnight.

    Every part of my shot process is calculated including pulling my arrow out, even if I use a different quiver it feels wrong. Make sure that nocking your arrow is a solid part of your shot process. At least you aren’t the guy that drops bows off atvs, Jk mistakes happen I once opened a switchblade knife while cleaning it and the blade shot through my finger lol.

    • @whatisarchery

    Love your channel, super positive on the other note in my opinion your drawl length looks to long and the longer you punch that trigger the longer it's going to take to fix that issue.## Practice with a purpose
