The original is a LOT older than 35!!!! Count back to 1979 from 2021.... more like 42!!!! Still sounds just as great today as it did back in the summer of '79!!!!!
Still remember when this was released over here in New Zealand...ha simply blew people's minds to bits...Numan as per usual so far ahead of his time he could be considered alien...

I agree this song changed everything for me in the spring/summer 1980. It just blew me away - it just fills the room with this insane sound - thanks GN. Before this song came out Giorgio Moroder's I Feel Love was my favorite song until this one and those two are still my favorite records ever!

Great work. Although there was never an "Extended Version" of "Cars" officially created or released (I think the 1987 version got the Razormaid treatment) this sounds likes a proper Extended Remix from back in the day. This WILL be played at my next house party.

@@labshot Sir, those five remixes were made in 1987 for a re-release of this track. You can find this on Discogs. My comment was that when this song was released originally, in 1979-1980 (depending upon the country) there was never a commercial "extended" remix. Even the 12" single had the original album version on it - it runs just under 4 minutes. The remixes you speak of were done by Zeus B. Held in 1987 and this song was again released in 1993 with those and a few more 'modern' sounding mixes. Have a nice day.

When I first saw the thumbnail for this remix, I knew it was fan-made and I thought 'there's NO WAY I can sit through almost ten minutes of 'Cars' - but here I am, almost an hour later, playing this again and again... Incredible mix. Well done.
