Based on personal experience, tech certifications allow you to qualify for more opportunities than not having one as some jobs may list that they need a particular candidate with said qualification. Something to note as well that you need to leverage your certifications with some relevant experience and/or coding projects to make your job applications hold more weight.
@@JonBerisha-ti1vl Yes, you need to do small projects and then work on bigger things. You don't necessarily need a degree but you need to demonstrate that you are competent in order for them to hire you

I agree with the point about getting involved with tech events. For example, if you are in university, companies will host recruiting events at your school where you can attend, where you can connect with recruiters and get your resume noticed. I have had a lot of success this year getting interviews for new grad roles.
Hello Lucy, great video as always. I only have one suggestion, that is if you can include a PDF of the roadmap you explained to download and refer later if needed. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Lucy! Your videos are always amazing ❤. As an engineering student, I’d love to see a video on a roadmap and guidance for those of us looking to build a career in cloud computing.
Hi Lucy, Great Content. In Step 2 you talk about IT fundamentals in Networking, Compute, Databases, Storage and Security. What resources did you use to gain that knowledge, what are your recommended sources to gain that required knowledge?
Hello Lucy, great insightful video. I applied for the Technical Content Writer Intern (Cloud & AWS) opening but have not gotten any feedback yet. Has the position been filled?
You will probably never hear back. Learn to apply for jobs, network and move on without waiting for anyone to ever reply - decency and respect for an applicant are long gone as there are too many overqualified and experienced professionals who are also out of work. The younger expect the fun jobs with matcha lattes in yoga studios between meetings and wine on taps during roof terrace after work parties, and those times are long gone as well. Network, network, network.
Hello Lucy, you have gained a lot of certifications. In 3 years when they expire do you plan on re-certifying? I'm sure you won't re-certify on the foundational badges but I'm always curious about people's plans when they have so many badges. Also, does Amazon have ways to maintain certifications without testing every three years? Thanks.
um should I do mern stack (also adding things like tailwind, typescript , next js and using chatgpt or claude and making some intensive projects) or should I go with cloud computing. I want a secure and stable job in future even when ai is replacing or automating some jobs or tasks in some jobs ;) oh also which one would be tougher and how much time takes, ik its too much but if you'll still answer me I will be happy 😭😭 thank u for reading :D
Learn content editing or it support first since they are lower barriers to entry. You can learn both MERN and Cloud. Build a MERN project or a Nextjs project and deploy it to AWS...AND Also get a few AWS certifications. Most jobs today are going to include some cloud knowledge
Don't you all sound so discouraging. Everything is possible especially from where you are coming from. A Cloud computing certification will be a good thing for an African youth like me. Pls tech with Lucy bring more of this to me
can u teach us a full course about of cloud pracitioner exam in some vedioes as you said in website link, i think that you can give me the best and understanding vedioes better then it.
I had taken the AWS Solution Architect exam and used a discount code.unfortunately, not passes, Now I want to ask whether I can use the discount code with a different email address and a different AWS ID? I'm worried that this won't involve me in fraudulent activity, right?
Nowadays companies posting job opportunities will receive well over 100 resumes. Now they have a choice between an applicant with a bachelor degree and certifications A, B and C, and another applicant with only the certifications A, B and C. Who do you think will get an interview between the two of them?...😏
@@thehunted316 And that is a huge mistake. I've seen so many people with "experience" that don't know anything. "Experience" isn't measurable, degrees and certifications are.
Some companies still insist on a degree. Not many, but some still do. Short-sighted and you can imagine the corporate culture at such places. Snobbery and bias based on rep of school you went to, level of degree. Going to work feeling like pulling up to fancy country club in your Camry, when everyone else in Bently & Porsche. Di you even wanna work in a place like that? Ok, maybe you can deal with all that for a paycheck. But more and more companies are realizing degree not as relevant as skills for tech jobs.
The person with the CDL license will get the job. The person who has certs, or certs and projects won’t get the job or interview. Only experienced people will be getting the internet & job. If not experienced, you may have to leave the industry or gain a second skill. Companies are short term oriented like morons. They’re not thinking where the next seniors will come from.
What you say is not necessarily true; I have seen people with no credientials or tech degree, get jobs on the "internet" and I have been on it since 1975 ( ARPA & DARPA Net ) ; and this still goes on to this very day...

100% true as not only rely on certificates but also showup your github repos with demos 🙂
Absolutely, having practical experience is key!

Other than the certificates, what are the most important technical skills for an associate/entry level Solutions Architect? Python, terraform?

So if I don't have money to pay cloud services, how can i make project to prof the knowledge you get from the certificate?

Hi Lucy,
Can we create the Realtime projects in AWS/GCP free tier account?
Very important question - If you upload projects on github in percent or 1-10, how much would you higher your chance to be called for interview?
Hello Lucy, What can I do if I don't have the money to do the AWS certifications
Never saw a certification or degree with value.
Great!!!!!
GOOD VIDEO.
in my opinion .. we need to band up in teams and compete against big corporations.
Does the projects cost money to build?
