How wonderful! What a joy to behold this traditional rite. Such a great opportunity for the contemporary church to be enriched by the Extraordinary Form. :)
This is my parish. I think it’s beautiful in it’s own way especially when you spend a lot of time there. It is more “modern” but the amount of light it gets inside during the day time through the partial stain glass is incredible and feels like God is shedding His Light on me. It doesn’t look as nice at night but most masses aren’t held at night. Plus we’re in Miami so we get lots of sunshine year round that shows off the beauty, natural light, and true peace that is in this church. Modern does not always mean bad! St. Peter’s Basilica was very “modern” when it was built and even played a part in the massive schism of the malformation. Epiphany is a fantastic parish and they are NO but they are very reverent.
He bears a striking resemblance to St. John XXIII, in my opinion. We need more guys like the Archbishop. The Church... Is a little odd.... But nevertheless, beautiful! Pax vobis!
While people are hungry to be evangelized. Pope John XXIII initiated the reform of that liturgy in the Vatican II Council and finish6ed by Pope Paul VI and dissidents, again Vatican II do not obey restrictions to that Latin Rite. All Popes, included Saint John Paul II, Pope Benedict. False that Pope Francis make a change, is only clarify with specific rules included that liturgy has to be authorized and do not deny the authority of Vatican II. In America they do whatever they want, then is scheme. Worshipers or spectators? Sad. I am a catholic of the true Gospel. Latin for all, only the priest has access...The admiration of a rite not bring salvation.
As it is in the Extraordinary Rite of the Mass in Latin, the Church went back to its origins and roots. For centuries this was how the mass was celebrated. It does not mean Bishop Wenski is like this. I've met him numerous times and he's the simplest guy you come across. He tries to please everybody, whether you are a traditionalist or Novus Ordo mass goer.
How Sad that a person would view the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and call it "Feudal". I guess for centuries, bishops and priests have been and continue to be "feudal lords". The worst is the idea of invoking Pope Francis (of your ideas). Apart from the form of the Mass celebrated, What difference is there between the vestment and dignity of the celebration of the Mass between the good Archbishop Wenski and our Holy Father Pope Francis. May you come to a full understanding and appreciation of the Holy Mass as it is celebrated in any Valid form. God bless.
adrian s smith actually what's sad is your ignorance about Church Liturgy and Theology. When a priest celebrates the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, he assumes the person of Christ (in persona Christi), so technically you are disrespecting Christ himself by calling the Archbishop, as the celebrant of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass here, a feudal Lord. Christ is definitely a Lord who reigns over all of us as His serfs and slaves, including you!
I was an acolyte in this...exactly 10 years ago, tonight. Long mass, I needed Hydrocodones to get through it lol I had a herniated disc,
This mass must be respected
Such a sublime liturgy.

Thank you Daniel
Beautiful
A beautiful Mass in a brutally ugly church.
Haha I was thinking the same thing.
I can't imagine an uglier church! Who would build such a monstrosity?
Michael Hoerig The “church” of the NewChurch of Vatican 2. That’s who. Avoid at all costs. Non est hic. He is not here.

How sad a feudal Lord reigning over his serfs. Complete opposite of Pope Francis.
