- Audio only (sorry, if there's video I have yet to find it). Tim Curry performed at the Bottom Line in New York City on July 26th, 1979 as part of his Fearless tour. He played every song from that album and a few covers as well, including this one. Many thanks to Justin for doing the work of putting this together. :) Enjoy (I, personally, have never heard a better version of this song)!
Why is he not Sir Tim Curry? One of the greatest voices of all time. This is a man who NEEDS to be knighted - in spite of himself.
what did you mean in spite of himself? because it is my opinion that he could not care less at this point if he is knighted..he seems very into it for the work and not necessarily the accolades..although it is nice to be recognized unlike so many celebrities I really think his reward IS the work itself.....
if you really study him and listen to what he is actually saying you ll know he is quite the straight forward gentleman...my dearly departed mother always told me I d marry late in life. and it would be a much older European gentleman...not saying she had a crystal ball(although she was 3 rd generation clairvoyant) she had a sense of things that were to come..i v never married....I almost have no interest in it any longer..but my current emergence from my latest depression has awoken my spirit to things...dreams really I have long given up hope of ever reaching. however something in this dear old English gentleman has been the impetus for me to begin anew at 5o...after not valuing the great gift my life really is and has been..I want so much for him to know that although I realize I did it myself...he, in fact, has been by my side through it all..like a tiny beacon burning bright in the darkest of times. so universe, please tell him how his tender spiritual reach and amazing work has reached me and continues to do so through good bad and ugly...we all face it each day, each moment and stronger for it I am and more secure that I live in a world where he breathes the sweet air of possibility as I do.....and I say...LET THERE BE TIM CURRY....
Tim Curry is a true gentleman and a great artist. "In spite of himself" means he should just be knighted and forced to accept it - whether he wants the honour or not.
walter, although i share your admiration of tim curry in oh so many ways, i believe it is incorrect to force anyone to do something. especially something of this caliber. did they "force" marlon brando to accept t he academy award? no he asked sasheen little feather to go on the awards show and refuse on his behalf this coveted award..... so please he deserves all the glory for being unique wonderful and has personally been bringing me joy for 37 years however, chill out! force? now if you were -joking, ignore this entire speech..and remember..i love you....you fellow human that shares the earth with me....love....
p.s. and by the way what does having knighthood really mean anyway..not much..in the same way that the monarchs the queen herself is really only a figurehead.. generations born into unneeded privilege and being admired/despised respectively....
If anyone is deserving of being "Sir" it is Tim Curry.
In a wave of Curry obsession, I just scoured the internet for anything related to him. Eventually, you just find this kind of stuff.

I @leeskerette I was 19 and I was in the audience dressed absolutely outrageously! He saw me, asked me to come on stage. He than asked if I sang...thus a true duet happened! He was amazingly kind and he loved to laugh! That was the only time I saw him live. My own music took me in another direction! Thanks again for the shout out! Have a fabulous week Dr. Abby

If we were living back in the very early 90s right now I would have ten thousand percent fainted right beside him if he asked me to sing with him and then started cuddling me close with his arm around me.😂😂😂

Everyone in my family has a doctorate. Some members say it is part of their name that they earned, while two others say that other people will know they are doctors by the knowledge they express, and don't need to always write it in their name in casual conversation. Both groups are correct.
EDIT: I also met Tim Curry and most of the original cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We ate dinner together at a dinner party after a special anniversary show. He was very approachable, funny and an all around great guy. I didn't realize how famous he was when I met him.

Wow. The most impressive thing is that he knows not to belt out every song. Too many people with big voices don't have that sensibility. I actually saw him twice on this tour, a few days apart. First in Kansas City, then in Austin, where I'd gone to visit relatives. I couldn't resist catching him in concert a second time. (I touched his hand - swoon!) What a voice...

I have always loved this man. There's just that something...it's on the tip of your tongue, and then you're swept away by him. I love hearing him talk and sing. And when he's up on stag it's magical. Everyone comes alive. I graduated in 81' and every Friday night at midnight we went to the theater to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Those lips kill. Brilliant man...

Hi all, well, have always been a Tim Fan, but in 1987 i finally got to meet Him (albeit A Brief Encounter). It was when He was doing Me and My Girl, the 1930's Musial in San Francisco, at the Golden Gate Theater. I had tickets to the opening show, Oct.3rd, and then Nov.3rd ( my Birthday), then Dec.26th, Closing night.
It was on Oct. third i could have died, When Tim and the cast were Dancing by, doing: "The Lambeth Walk" my friend Katy PUSHED me up out of my seat and screamed: "It's TIM ! "
I sure love your story, langellaish! The screams ... the sore thighs ... your friend's "heroism!" What wonderful memories you have! You must feel as I do -- that it doesn't make sense to this day that Tim Curry's popular music career stalled the way it did. What more could you want?!? A voice like no other (powerful one minute, tender the next), good looks, charisma -- and that confidence! I'm still heart-broken that we don't have DECADES of soulful rock/pop from this incredible talent!

You SANG with him, like onstage! How cool! Did you duet, or were you a back-up singer? Can you divulge any little tidbit, such as if you found him to be a nice person...and your opinion of his voice? You must have a wonderful voice yourself; Tim Curry worked with "some of the best" during his all-too-brief music career.

I sat back down in my seat as quick as i could, i could see him look Nervously out of the corner of His eye, he was no doubt thinking: "Oh Goodness, another Rocky Horror Fan" but he kept on going. It was hard for me to recover from that. Then on Dec 26th. i went ALONE, i held back and waited for all the People to File out of the Theater, as i was leaving to go back to my car, i saw several of the cast members coming out of the Theater, i thought to myself that maybe Tim would come out as well.

to write on, and sure enough, i had a program, so i handed it to Him and He pulled out a Golden Pen and signed it, handed it back to me and just stood there for a moment...Oh, okay, i quickly thought, it is MY move, so i said: "Come back soon" for it was there last show in SF and they were moving on.
He then did a very Noble Bow to me and jumped into a Pink 1950's something Oldsmobile with some of the others, and drove off, i turned on my Heels and Never looked back.
