    It was a brilliant idea proposed by the young girl. It was very heart warming to see this change. This goes in line with what Neil Armstrong said " A small step for man, but a big leap for mankind". I am also happy that it was the women who took charge to bring this change. Congratulations!

      @Suren Ayer, I saw came from watching the interview video of
      Reema Bishwokarma, Keki Adhikari, Benisha Hamal. They consider themselves beautiful actress of Nepal.
      Now for your information, the Vishwakarma or Bishwokarma community refer to themselves as the Viswabrahmin, The community comprises five sub-groups-carpenters, blacksmiths, bronze smiths, goldsmiths and stonemasons-who believe that they are descendants of Vishvakarman, a Hindu deity.
      Vishwakarma(Bishwokarma) are equal to Brahmins in olden Varna system, however they are lower than Brahmins in the present caste system. But they do wear Jandhyam(Janeu) or The Sacred Thread around their body.
      Adhikari is a family names of the Hill Brahmin (Bahun). According to the Varna system, Brahmin is a member of the highest caste. Brahmins are the caste from which Hindu priests are drawn, and are responsible for teaching and maintaining sacred knowledge.
      Hamal is family names of the Khas-Kshatriya (Chhetri and Thakuri) people. According to the Varna system or the social structure, Chhetri and Thakuri are rank second after the Brahmins.
      This varna system applies to only within the Aryan Khas people. They have been followers and believers of the varna system since the varnas originated in Vedic society in 1500 BC -500 BC, in ancient India. Adivasi janjaati, or the indigenous people of Nepal have no association with this varna system although the Rana and Shah tried to classified and bring adivasi janajati people into this system, often grouping them under the category of Vaishyas, and Sudras.
      Adivasi janajati, or the the indigenous people of Nepal used to slaughter cow and eat the beef before they were forced by Rana and Shah to comply with the new rules.

      absolutely u are right Wang.i used to get spanked when janitors for our house would come and we were not supposed to touch them.i would give them food feed them give them refreshments from our family utensils and my mother would beat me. they are hungry! whats wrong to feed them? they did their job.a little kindness aint gonna kill you would i say to my mom.my mom later opened soup kitchen etc.helped our maids children with medicines to rid of parasites.if gold jewelry went missing on my ears or bangles she accused me of giving it to the maids.i always sneaked the pantry keys and gave away rice,grains,to my maids and received regular beatings.my mom later had change of heart was kinder to maids.i still help neighbors.we should be kind to others who are less fortunate.

      This caste system is in many countries but not institutionalised, that is, taps cannot be allocated for various castes. That is, even in Africa, the loca taps are for everyone, be you rich or poor, but only the poor go to those local taps because the rich have taps in their home. Also, someone born poor can become rich and will be trespected, unlike in Asia where if you are from a lower cast, no matter how much money you make, you will still be considered lower.

      we need to make kirati to be care taker of our temple. i am confident kirati will take care of Pasupathinath temple and the Trust fund very well. No indian brahmin will take temple fund and gold to india. brahmin have given wrong history and culture to people of Nepal.

    I m from the Eastern part of Nepal, Bhojpur. There's a discrimination but not very strict, I have seen people using the same water taps in turn, back in village while I was still a kid I had attended dalits wedding, like most my great grands would ignore but younger generation were ok with it and now i have seen marriage, inter caste marriage that's a big change, to say honestly the untouchable system was introduced in Eastern part of Nepal by Prithibi Narayan Shah and was strongly put into practice by Drabhaya Shah and Junga Bhadur Rana........

    I am a brahmin in India and I am ashamed of this caste system... I dont think anyone can tell anybody ur lower or upper.... I think Nepalese should get educated and be self-sufficient to come out of this years of discrimination. Caste system is the main reason, opportunistic people are using these oppressed gullible people for conversion and coax them to take up arms to against the system ( which is bad for them)... it is better they get educated and know the law of land to overthrow these illogical caste system

      Sheshadri Vashisht we never had this problem when Kirat was ruling Nepal. only when the aryan licchavis arrived in Nepal from india, they brought this evil system. the brahmins and chettry rulers of course never eradicated this system in nepal because they benefited from this system.

    actually the caste system only applies within aryan khas communities.
    we mongolian adivasi janajati do not have caste system.
    what we have is clan system.
    for example in Rai community they have clan system. that is Rai are divided into many small division which is call Clan or Thar in nepali. that is Rai are divided as chamling bantawa khaling wambule sotoang and so on.
    Tamang also follow clan(thar) system. moktan lama waiba are some thar of Tamang.
    Magar have thar(clan) like pun rana ale ...etc.
    Thakali have thar like bhattachan tulchan gauchan shercan.
    And yes we Limbus should have clan system.
    so did you see that Mongolian adivasi janajati do not have caste system but follow clan(thar) system.
    But for aryan khas people, they follow caste system.
    that is bahun, chettri, damaii, kami, sarki are caste of aryan khas people.
    the difference between caste system of aryan khas people and clan system of mongolian people is
    that caste system is racist, discriminatory. but Mongolian clan system is based on equality.
    We Limbus never discriminate our limbu brothers and sisters. we are seen as equal and we treat each other equally. but bahun chettry follow caste system and treat your own brothers as kamii and damaii.
    this is the reason we do not support indian system and culture and indian films in nepal. we need to get rid of them.

    • @dilipraii
      @dilipraii 9 років тому

      Sitamshu Marhatta aryan licchavis are responsible for bringing this caste system into nepal. have kirat defeated the aryan licchavis, today we on't have to see this caste system in nepal. but unfortunately kirat could not stop the invasion of aryan licchavis entering kathmandu and nepal.

    • @dilipraii
      @dilipraii 9 років тому

      Sitamshu Marhatta yes unfortunately kirat were defeated by the aryan licchavis. there was no caste system during kirat time.
      so when the aryan licchavis invaded kathmandu valley and defeated the kirat, the aryan licchavis introduced this caste system and other vedic religions and culture.
      the aryan licchavis also intermingled with those kiratis who remained in the kathmandu valley, forming new group of people known as newars today.
      this is the same reason why we see newaris have caste system within their community because they were largely influenced by the aryan licchavis side.
      and lets not forget that this caste system was used by licchavis, then thakuris, then mallas, then rana and shahs to rule people of nepal.
      this is the same reason why the bahun and chettry ministers have done nothing to eradicate or remove the caste system from nepal even though everyone says this is evil and is crime.
      i don't think bahun chettry ministers and the lawmakers will do anything to stop this discriminatory system in nepal. the only way i see to stop this tradition is by having bahun and chettry son married to the dalit daughter.
      And dalit son married to bahun chettry daughter. but how many nepalese would expect to see this happen?

    • @dilipraii
      @dilipraii 9 років тому

      Sitamshu Marhatta yes this is not theory anymore. historians and scholars have already identified newaris to be descendants of kirat. you can even ask newari.
      nowadays many newari also identified themselves to be kirati.
      How closely related are Newar people to kiratis can be discuss in many ways.
      It appears that newari languages belong to Mahakiranti branch of Tibeto-Burman language. According to population genetics Newar people paternal ancestry has a big Indian input (which probably is reflected their more Hinduised way of life) but their mtDNA lineage is strongly East Asian.
      Sudarshan Raj Tiwari, in his book(The Temple of the Kirata Nepal) said Some of the Newar Jaats(caste) of Kathmandu, particularly the Prajapatis(KumvahkaraKumharaKumhale), Maharjans, Dongols, Nayos, Tepehoys, etc., have been said to be descendants of the Kiratas.

    • @dilipraii
      @dilipraii 9 років тому

      Sitamshu Marhatta Sudarshan Raj Tiwari, said the the following group of Newar people namely Awale, Kumah, Prajapatis,
      Kumvahkara, Kumhara, Kumhale, Maharjans, Dangols, Nayos, Tepehoys are the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu valley and are the descendants of the Kiratas.
      Read Temples of the Nepal Valley, 2009 by
      Sudarshan Raj Tiwari.
      Late Nepali Professor Dor Bahadur Bista in his work (Fatalism and Development, 1991) had already cited that the earliest Newar of Kathmandu originated from the Kirant family.
      Dr. Tilak Shrestha said "Kirati have not left Kathmandu valley all together. I have read some where that Newar Gathu (Mali, Malakar) group is remnant of Kirati. They are the descendants of the last Kirati King Gasthi."
      Though Newars are not yet ready to call themselves as Kirat they should at least realize that they are following the cultures that are related to other Kiratis.what is more defining newari people as kirat is the fact is that Newar people in Kathmandu worship Pachali Bhairav.
      Did you know Pachali Bhairav was the king of Pharping of Kirat dynasty.
      So coming back to modern day time, newaris are still praying to Pachali Bhairav, meaning they are indeed Kiratis.

    O great hero! The duties of Brahmanas, Ksatriyas, Vaisyas and also Sudras have been divided according to the quality born of their own nature. [Gita 18.41] Serenity, control of the sense, austerity, purity, straight-forwardness, knowledge, insight, and faith in the Supreme Being - these are a Brahman's duties born of his own nature. [Gita 18.42] Prowess, splendor of personality, unfailing courage, resourcefulness, dauntless in battle, generosity, leadership - these are a Ksatriya's duties born of his specific nature. [Gita 18.43]
    Agriculture, cattle-rearing and trade form the duty of the Vaisya springing from his own nature, while the natural duty of a Sudra consists in subordinate service under others. [Gita 18.44] By being devoted to one's own natural duty, man attains to spiritual competency. Now hear how devotion to one's own natural duty generates spiritual competency. [Gita 18.45] From whom all beings have emanated and by whom all this universe is pervaded - by worshipping Him through the dedicated performance of one's duty, man attains to spiritual competency. [Gita 18.46] One's own duty, even if without excellence (i.e. inferior in the scale of worldy values)is more meritorious spiritually than the apparently well-performed duty of another. For no sin is incurred by one doing works ordained according to one's nature. [Gita 18.47]
