Rocky talks in 3rd person to herself so when she's looking for the player and says "you have no friends" or "you are nothing" shes might actually be talking to herself there too. Her positive affirmations turn into self abuse when she gets frustrated or loses confidence.

To a point, being lost helps the horror aspect, and it gives the camera's some usefulness.
I wish there was just a version where you can roam and explore the place without danger 😭 or at least a “story” option like in some other games, where the difficulty is less so you can actually focus on exploring without dying. But maybe it’s an option once you finish since they said all the games are playable
there’s definitely an element of control in this game, which is why the moondrop sequence was so terrifying. you had light, a friendly bear to hide in and to guide you. you also had cameras and a watch. then suddenly this also pretty friendly guy turns into this terrifying creature and all of your information is lost to darkness. it’s jarring, and the way you have to navigate around in a dark, cramped space with something silently chasing you throws you back into the element of confusion that you’re now not used to. it’s done really well, which means that there will definitely be more confusing, stressful moments like moondrop. (just an edit here - did anyone else notice at the very start of the game where we see roxy talking to herself in the mirror, as she says “all your fans are watching you... i know” she looks up at us?)

I'm still not sure if he can actually follow you into the castles or not

He lacks video game common sense but is VERY quick to blame it on the game instead of himself. (That being said this game is not very intuitive and is poorly designed all around. MAT MAT MAT!! The bag you missed while looking for the backstage pass while freddy's communications were messed up, it talked about replacing Bonnie with Monty, so Bonnie was actually apart of the gang!
I noticed that when you look closely at the highscores on the arcade machines "GGY" is consistently listed as the top scorer. Could this indicate and emphasize Gregory's role or even how long has he been coming there?
I saw on that one screen that his score was obnoxiously high compared to the others on the list. So either he's a terrific gamer, or everyone else who tried it is terrible. ()^_^
If Gregory is a frequent visitor to the pizzaplex, then why does Vanessa state Gregory has no records? And that Freddy doesn't initially recognize his name? If nobody has any former knowledge of Gregory, how could he come casually if he most likely sneaked into the pizzaplex due to being a homeless child? I have a theory! I agree with thinking the animatronics aren't actually evil. I think Afton's spirit thing possessed Roxy, Chica, and Monty but because Freddy had a malfunction, he couldn't possess him. Each animatronic embodies a factor of Afton's personality, with Roxy being vanity, Monty being anger or rage, and Chica being corruption. If you think about it, even in FNAF 2, it was said that the animatronics were never meant to hurt children but those three attack Gregory. Just a thought. I have no idea if I'm close to right or not. 😅
Is it just me who's noticing when Gregory runs out of stamina, it sounds like Roxy trips and falls to the floor? (36:56) Also, I think that, from the sound of things, she might not be narcissistic, but rather has self-esteem issues, and she's telling herself this stuff and saying all this stuff to gregory to make her feel better about herself. Just a thought.
i'm not an expert but to my knowledge, most narcissists actually hate themselves and they act self-centred for validation. narcissists don't want attention because they need everyone to know how great they are, they want attention because they're deeply insecure and are desperate for praise. also, projecting your insecurities onto other people is incredibly common in narcissists. you don't have to like yourself to be a narcissist
After seeing this. I feel like when Roxy is saying those bad things. She’s not saying it at the player, but at herself. Because she was talking in the third person and first person. So I think she says she’s the best just to counter herself with something like “no one will miss you”. Idk if it’s important, but I thought it was worth pointing out
You know, looking at most of her lines really implies a sadness to her. Since she talks in 3rd person in the "You are the best, you will find him first" the rest of the lines imply that she feels like she is worthless and that the glamrocks aren't her friends. Perhaps she's covering up her sadness with aggression?
I think those would be side effects of them be reprogrammed by []. Like, Their original personalitys stay separate from the secondary, but the original gets some things like be insecure or more aggressive
I’m the same way. I absolutely love fnaf, but I can’t personally play the games myself. I’ve only been able to play fnaf 2, and the vr game gave me a panic attack. But I have no hesitation to watch GTLive and Markiplier play this.
I believe that Roxy saying "i bet you don't even have friends" is referring to the fact that you don't have any friends to help you escape, or to complete your objective. rather than just a general insult that's just uncalled for. that's just my theory though.
Me too! Mark, Mike, and MatPat are the three I've cycled through since Mike released his first vid. So cool to see someone else is watching the exact same people's playthrough!!!
I have a feeling Roxy's mean comments is so she stays in character. I'm guessing she is supposed to be a self absorbed diva type so it would be weird if she lost that. Mixed in with her cruel comments are kinder ones as well, promising help and asking about Gregory's welfare (is he lost? Is he hungry?). She also refers to him as kid like others do in a softer tone.
I think she has like... two personalities? Because when she talks to herself in the beginning "You are the best." (and then subsequently "I am the best," like the first comment is her other side talking to her, and then she reaffirms it as herself.) Also, sometimes when she's looking for you. "You will find him first." I feel like that's her other side talking to herself. At least that's how I see it from what I've seen of the playthrough so far. So the nice comments are her, and the mean comments are her other side.
@@lozza342 her tone changes as well, so even if two souls or personalities are using the same voice box, there’s a difference. even if it’s not canon i think its a cool detail :)
Does anyone else think roxie's more agressive voice lines could be programmed for intruders? Like, we don't really know which of the animatronics are sentient and which are not. And it's obvious from freddys dialog that after the events of springtrap that there are more precautions taken to prevent the same things from happening, so maybe the dialog comes from there? if that makes any sense?
That would make a lot of sense. The animatronics are only getting more and more sophisticated within the universe, and with a massive venue they probably have to constantly be on the lookout
I think later in the game, they’ll start finding the scary, worn down robots. It only makes sense. There can’t be only Chica, Roxy, and Monty. This game seems huge and it’ll take at least 2 more of these streams to finish the story.
it has some parts that are kinda scary/uncomfortable in my opinion but it looks like a game i could actually play. all the mechanics and mini games look really fun too
@@faefindingawilltolive yeah, in some parts it is a little uncomfortable, but comparing to the other fnaf games, things like when the animatronics get to you aren't as scary as the other jump scares as in older fnaf games
35:26 The books have established that human-looking animatronics do exist. So maybe Gregory is one. It would explain him being able to fit inside Freddy, and why he's not on the guest register.
Mat: "I think they're nice! They're saying they want to help us and that our family is looking for us" Roxy: "I bet you have no friends..." "Sneak away you little coward!" "You think you can run from me?!"
I had a thought. It's really hard to tell the difference between roxie's self-talk and her actually calling out to the little boy. Considering she does say some positive things ("we just want to help you", "you're family's looking for you", etc.), what if the line "I bet you don't even have friends" is directed at herself? She seems to be very insecure and uses a lot of positive self talk to combat that and make herself feel better so it would make sense that she probably struggles with some anxiety.
They say they want to help, but don't say who they are helping. My guess is they are helping Vanny, and are hard wired not to see her if they are not actively helping her. Thus why Freddy in Safe Mode can't see her... I still say the effect when Vanny shows up looks and sounds like one of Afton's sound illusion disks...

Fazbear is creating people and then throwing them away as literal trash. I don't think they're body swapped people; I think they're just super advanced AIs. it's horrific! Fazbear is making people and then throwing them away :( it's awful. this isn't really a spoiler because you could come to the same conclusion based on context clues in the area, but still! the explicit nature of the lore drop in just that one thing is so wild
Their comment about the animatronics being too polished to be scary made me laugh, because I've seen the game the whole way through and I know they get creepier as it goes on

Also a ‘oh my gosh really’ moment was when Steph finally learned that Matpat had been watching the same door…. I just about died of laughter with her! 😂😂 I can’t believe a dude as smart as Matpat didn’t figure it out sooner. 😂😂😂
Matts final thoughts on his 1st impression has me thinking that the genre has shifted from Horror that involves survival to Survival Horror, a genre that generally involves more action and resource management and control over your own situation where the og FNAF was all about taking away all but the bare minimum control over the situation and that's what made it scary This is more...fun It's an adventure game with jumoscares for game overs and a lot of stealth
6:20 From my observations of having been a cat owner my entire life, when a cat is that comfortable and trusting (notice when Steph grabs his face and he doesn't even flinch- not something a cat would do if they didn't trust that person), it says good things about the owners of said cat. People think cats are stand-offish in general, but none of my cats have been like that, and honestly other peoples' cats aren't like that with me either. I take the time to build a rapport with them and gain their trust. When it comes to my own cats, because that's their experience of people, they are more likely to be friendly with others, too. They seek out attention and affection, they let us trim their claws if they're getting too long (we had an elderly cat once who wasn't using the scratching post enough to file her own claws, so one claw grew long enough that it curved around and pierced the pad of her paw, which we don't want to repeat!), they will sleep on our beds at night if we let them, and want to be around us even when we're too busy to directly pay attention to them. Good cat owners- in general- know that most cats won't be "stand-offish" if you treat them well and respect their boundaries. Oh, and our cats let us rub their bellies, which is the ultimate expression of trust. Judging by the storm of purring, they enjoy it immensely :) So don't listen to articles which tell you that cats categorically don't like their bellies rubbed! Some actually don't like it, but most just need to know and trust you before allowing that kind of vulnerability. One of our cats, though, will let pretty much anyone rub his belly (including children), even if he's just met them. He's an anomaly. He might be under the impression that he's a dog.
I think this game is stuck in a weird limbo between trying to be a horror game and trying to be a stealth game, but it gives the player too much control to feel like either genre. Stealth and horror games only work when the player is inherently weaker than the enemies, as this is what encourages the player to avoid encounters at all. Being caught isn't as scary in this game as in other horror or stealth games, because most of the time you can easily just run away from the animatronics, except in parts like the pseudo-boss sections, which did recapture more of the FNAF tension than the normal moment to moment gameplay. Overall, it does seem like a fun experience, just not really a FNAF/horror/stealth experience
I think FNAF is, at this point, more about the lore and the characters than about the horror. People aren't playing this to get scared anymore. They're playing for the lore or because they love the franchise.
@@john02222 Well, I thought Sister Location was still good about being pretty scary. Sure, Balora’s section was pretty easy, but Freddy’s and Foxy’s areas were still good and anticipating. There was still a huge “unknown” or helpless feeling, whether walking through near blind darkness surrounded by unknown danger, or having to listen and time unseen danger getting closer and closer behind your screen. There was little you could do.
Yes! I agree. Except for some small sections, you can pretty easily outrun all animatronics. Like in Markiplier’s recent episodes, he just books-it across large areas knowing he can wrap around a corner and hide, climb on some furniture and be safe, outrun them, or use new tools to stop them in their tracks. Ruins the fear factor.

It's actually insanely open. I've watched 4 different let's plays and all of them are completely different because of how you can face almost any task in this game in any order. For example I saw a let's play where music man was the very last encounter they did before beating the game.
It's interesting how the animatronics seem to have some sort of sentience to them. Freddy wanting to help Gregory out of no where is one thing, but then you have Roxy who is not only narcissistic to the point of being mean, but also talks to herself , which I imagine an animatronics person would not willingly implement thinking "o yeah this'll be perfect for the kids! A narcissistic jerk who talks to herself like Gollem!" I wonder if this means whether the characters are actually alive and have some form of remnant in them, or if this was just a choice made by the game developers to make the experience more entertaining? Idk cool game so far!
oh, my friend, they are extremely alive. I would consider them people because they are so highly intelligent. based on Freddy's behavior and his words, it seems like the animatronics have general parameters -- keep kids safe, take them to first aid if hurt, get kids to security personnel, etc -- but beyond that, they are independent. they have emotions, too, Freddy communicates emotions in response to specific situations. he expresses worry, he expresses support for Gregory by telling him good job, he relays important information on his own initiative. basically, I would say he's sentient enough to be considered a person. and that begs the question - are all the robots in the building the same way? are the staff bots that sentient? they don't seem to be, but they're also not equipped with sophisticated sensors and voice boxes like the animatronics are. do they maybe have the same amount of processing power but just without the tools to express themselves? if so, what does that mean? what does that tell us about this world? those are rhetorical questions because idk lol
@@sethescope i think the staff robots are only built to report and clean on demand, unlike the animatronics. it would be cool if theres a way to disable the staff robots somehow
@@BIGLIPID I'm not sure they're that limited, and let me explain why. towards the very beginning, when you're trying to get to the doors before midnight, you're underground in a basement level and there's all those fences blocking things off. you can see something through one of the chain link fences -- a staff bot is lying on the ground and it's all beat up, and there's a group of 4-5 other staff bots standing around it. it's very creepy lol to me, that alone tells me they're sentient because it would be weird for all of them to malfunction and just stare at the broken one. it's not like they're cleaning it up or anything. they're literally just grouped up around the broken one. maybe the staff bots have a range of sentience - some are very basic but some are more aware? in any case, I guess we'll see eventually lol

@@devilsdeckofcards apparently roxy gets a lot of hate for not living up to foxy’s legacy and popularity so her “you don’t have any friends” line can stem from trauma. Also lines like “you think you’re better than me?” show that roxy is insecure about herself.
Rocky talks in 3rd person to herself so when she's looking for the player and says "you have no friends" or "you are nothing" shes might actually be talking to herself there too. Her positive affirmations turn into self abuse when she gets frustrated or loses confidence.
I don't disagree with you but I think there's more to it. From what I cought, she is a very sore loser, so it also could say these things to provoke Gregory into a "1v1"
i heard that roxy is very insecure because of how popular foxy was and gets hate for not being as good as foxy. this probably fuels her low self esteem and her voice lines.

there’s definitely an element of control in this game, which is why the moondrop sequence was so terrifying. you had light, a friendly bear to hide in and to guide you. you also had cameras and a watch. then suddenly this also pretty friendly guy turns into this terrifying creature and all of your information is lost to darkness. it’s jarring, and the way you have to navigate around in a dark, cramped space with something silently chasing you throws you back into the element of confusion that you’re now not used to. it’s done really well, which means that there will definitely be more confusing, stressful moments like moondrop.

Honestly the scariest thing about Moondrop for me is that it seems really unclear where he can and can't go. Like it seems that he can always see you when you're outside, and the play castles *seem* safe, but then at one point you were caught by him just inside of one. I'm still not sure if he can actually follow you into the castles or not
He can catch you if you’re right next to the walls of the outside, and he can go inside once you’ve got the third generator.
Yeah MatPat actually almost got caught right before he got the 5th generator if he had on headphones he would've heard Moon right behind him.
Moon gets more aggressive as you get more generators (think Slenderman) and once you get the third generator, his eyes start glowing red and he can enter the play structures. He also runs extremely fast at four to the point that outrunning isn’t really an option. It’s quite literally terrifying and playing it myself, it was one of the most tense game sections I’ve ever played, tho it does get easier when you realize the little gimmicks and plan a route rather than blindly looking for generators.
After the third generator, he can go inside and also gets more active.
Not only can he enter the play structures, he can even crawl through the slides.
I cant wait for Mat to say "MUSIC MAAN!" every single time he sees music man in this game. I'm here for it.
I have a concept: Roxy reminds herself that people watch and like her bc Foxy was never noticed, his game mechanic revolves around you seeing and watching him. She’s supposed to be the games foxy.

The OP was pointing out that Mat consistently complains about losing progress as well as the game taking a very long time, and yet explores to no end which is the cause of that loss of progress. He is also not smart about his exploring, as anyone would think to get a couple things and save so you don't have to get them the next 8 times you inevitably die while exploring. He lacks video game common sense but is VERY quick to blame it on the game instead of himself. (That being said this game is not very intuitive and is poorly designed all around.

Just a thought.
Time stamp?
i'm not an expert but to my knowledge, most narcissists actually hate themselves and they act self-centred for validation. narcissists don't want attention because they need everyone to know how great they are, they want attention because they're deeply insecure and are desperate for praise. also, projecting your insecurities onto other people is incredibly common in narcissists. you don't have to like yourself to be a narcissist
Chica and Monty: Creepy stranger danger robots
Roxy: Redditor hunting down a kid who admitted he likes Fortnite better than Minecraft
So happy to see King Catpat, our true Evil Overlord, doing so well and looking so relaxed ❤️
After seeing this. I feel like when Roxy is saying those bad things. She’s not saying it at the player, but at herself. Because she was talking in the third person and first person. So I think she says she’s the best just to counter herself with something like “no one will miss you”. Idk if it’s important, but I thought it was worth pointing out
Yeah I been thinking that too
You know, looking at most of her lines really implies a sadness to her. Since she talks in 3rd person in the "You are the best, you will find him first" the rest of the lines imply that she feels like she is worthless and that the glamrocks aren't her friends. Perhaps she's covering up her sadness with aggression?
Yeah, I feel like she's been projecting. You okay, Roxy?
@@eleanorbateman4317 technically 'you' is the second person. 'roxy is the best' would be third person.

She also refers to him as kid like others do in a softer tone.
roxy has my heart already-
These are LURES.
Or she's faking being kind to lure Gregory into a false sense of security. It could be either one though, guess we'll find out in later episodes.

Fazbear is making people and then throwing them away :( it's awful.
this isn't really a spoiler because you could come to the same conclusion based on context clues in the area, but still! the explicit nature of the lore drop in just that one thing is so wild

Their comment about the animatronics being too polished to be scary made me laugh, because I've seen the game the whole way through and I know they get creepier as it goes on
Seeing this live with steph and matpat, and skip coming to say hi makes me feel like it’s the older streams and I love it .
Wow, Monty and Roxxane look like very interesting characters. I wonder how the devs will use them later in the game, or even the series.

Matt’s unadulterated joy at seeing Music Man is so cute 🥺
Freddy: "Head past the Starcade wall."
MatPat: *Walked right at and past the Starcade wall*
MatPat and Steph: "Where's the Starcade wall?"
I have no words...
Also a ‘oh my gosh really’ moment was when Steph finally learned that Matpat had been watching the same door…. I just about died of laughter with her! 😂😂 I can’t believe a dude as smart as Matpat didn’t figure it out sooner. 😂😂😂
@@trevinodude Well, Matt does have the small habit of missing small details
Matts final thoughts on his 1st impression has me thinking that the genre has shifted from Horror that involves survival to Survival Horror, a genre that generally involves more action and resource management and control over your own situation where the og FNAF was all about taking away all but the bare minimum control over the situation and that's what made it scary
This is more...fun
It's an adventure game with jumoscares for game overs and a lot of stealth
No lie, I actually beat the security doors level by hiding in the middle where neither could see me, didn't have to waste a single battery.
about to get the game tmr, if i make this far im def gonna try it
@@knives8346 good luck!

Yeah I just hid in the corner, they never came in lmao
Mainly because I ran to the door buttons and I wasn’t given a prompt to close them
I think this game is stuck in a weird limbo between trying to be a horror game and trying to be a stealth game, but it gives the player too much control to feel like either genre.
@@starshinenylene to me its been like that since SL
@@am3thysts I did not mean to imply sl and 6 where not scary I am saying that starting at sl it feels like most people arnt playing it for horror but for the lore
Husband and Wife bonding over a game and laughing about how they looking at the same door...

I love how all the animatronics have distinct personalities and problems. Roxy is a narcissist, Chica has eating problems and monty has anger issues.

Also Roxanne:"NOBODY WILL MISS *YOU*

tbh. I havn't seen Skip AKA CatPat in like AGES! good to see that he's still doing well and kickin!
I legit thought he'd died and was afraid to ask
Okay, but Matt coming out of the photo booth, Roxy being RIGHT there, than running around the pinball machines and jumping back in the booth was so funny to me.
@@BIGLIPID I'm not sure they're that limited, and let me explain why. towards the very beginning, when you're trying to get to the doors before midnight, you're underground in a basement level and there's all those fences blocking things off. you can see something through one of the chain link fences -- a staff bot is lying on the ground and it's all beat up, and there's a group of 4-5 other staff bots standing around it. it's very creepy lol
to me, that alone tells me they're sentient because it would be weird for all of them to malfunction and just stare at the broken one. it's not like they're cleaning it up or anything. they're literally just grouped up around the broken one.
maybe the staff bots have a range of sentience - some are very basic but some are more aware?
in any case, I guess we'll see eventually lol
@@sethescope it would be cool if its like they can learn stuff like a self learning AI, or a human being
@@BIGLIPID right? it makes me wonder how many amazing things Fazbear Entertainment could do for the world with that technology, if only they weren't so evil lol
I don't know how closely you have followed FNAF lore, but a running theme in the Fazbear Frights books has been this idea of bodyswapping. what if all of the AI development is just so Fazbear robots can bodyswap with people and pass as human?
I don't know why Fazbear Entertainment would want to do this lol. I don't know what would motivate them to do this. but the idea of body swapping keeps coming up and I'm curious as to how it might come into play in this game
