Wowzers! I don’t know how you could leave that store without buying half of it! So many goodies! Love the aqua and yellow fabric. I have some feedsack but they are tiny pieces, as you said, cut out for a quilt top, all corner triangles.
Wow Sarah you hit the jackpot! I love those feed sack fabrics. I would love to have a store like that in the US. There are a few but no where near me. I could stay in that store for hours!!! I think a quilt will be beautiful out of those fabrics. I love those doilies too. Have fun playing with all those goodies. Hugs 💕🧵
What an amazing haul! And the feedsacks are beyond words💕💕. Definitely worth your trip to that fabulous shop! Love, love feedsacks but too expensive online! What a treasure. Thank you so much for sharing🥰. Have a wonderful day💕
What a fabulous find, so much fabric and such a variety. My favourites are the William Morris….. Strawberry Thief and the Perle crochet cottons. I recently bought 1/2 yard of the Strawberry Thief and it was very expensive….. I just love it and treated myself to these naughty birds, stealing the fruits ….. as they do😲. My 2daughters are in the midst of getting new kitchens/extensions built and I’m going to make a few items for them so the thieves will be put on to good service. 😍. Enjoy your lovely finds.
Oh thats such a wonderful haul Sarah. A friend of mine has recently moved from here in Vic to Sydney and I've told her she needs to go to there. She is going very soon to one of them, can't remember, Balmain maybe. Anyway, I've just decided I'm going to visit her for a holiday just so we can go to this shop. Mopefully all 4 of them. lol. Love your finds.
Love lots of this haul I think I would be doing some tea dyeing and avocado dyeing also to soften up and make some of those fabrics look vintage...great job on getting those feed sack fabrics..they will make a great quilt...Bec will definitely teach you quilting she has some beautiful quilts...
I am thinking you hit the motherload. They are amazing!!! You lucky lucky thing. Couldn’t have gone to a better home and they would look fantastic in a Gosling Quilt!!!!!!
How very fortunate stitchers are in your part of the world to have stores like this… to wonder though looking at all the beautiful things from bygone years… imagining all the wonderful things you could create with them… and to actually be able to purchase these treasures🇨🇦🪡🧵🎉💕
What a fantastic collection of goodies & what a shop!! Amazing that it's all donated! Would love to find a shop like that here in New Zealand or maybe it's just as well I can't 😅
Thank you, Sarah, for sharing the Sewing Basket with us! And your wonderful finds! I wish we has a shop like that here in the US. The fabrics are just lovely.
Do happy for you Sarah - what incredible finds particularly the feedbacks and love the jumbo print of the strawberry thief. Very well deserved and a wonderful new home for these goodies. Enjoy creating. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Jackpot!!! 🎉🎉🎉 You've found some wonderful things. The feed sacks remind me of my Gramma. She always made her aprons out of them. Have fun with your new treasures.
Sarah: well,- you had a wonderful time shopping at your favorite shop. Boy,- I sure wish we had something here like the sewing basket. I could spend hours in there looking at different materials. Great collection of things. Carol from California
How lucky are you to have this wonderful shop near you, love all the packs and everything else. Looking forward to seeing what you create with your new stash!
Hi Sarah, wow, you sure found a great load of yumminess! I think that feedsack fabric was waiting for you to come in, I'm so happy for you! Hearing your delight, made my evening! TFS 😊
Wow, I love it all. I’ve only been to the sewing basket once, and came away with far more than I needed. I like most of the stuff you passed on, any chance you wanna do a swap? Pretty sure I know what you love, been watching you for years. Im also a spinner so I could send some delicious Handspun yarns as part of a swap, and I also have lots of genuine vintage fabrics, trims, buttons and laces. No pressure though,
The feed sacks are fabulous. I live in the US in Texas & I have never seen any of those here. I found a sugar sack once at an estate sale. The fabric with the birds is also beautiful.
Omg 😮 You hit the jackpot. It breaks your heart when you see them on ebay etc . US dollars then postage is crazy so I have given up looking anymore. Well done Sarah
Oh Sarah, you are one lucky duck!!! I have never been able to find authentic feed sack fabric, and I live in the US. Wow! I can't afford the e-bay or etsy ones, so I just always stay on the hunt for it. I'm sure I had dresses my Granny made me when I was a little girl out of the actual "feed sack" since she kept everything, living through the depression. She was a very talented and hard-working woman. She actually made hooked rugs out of old men's wool suits. People would give them to her, she would cut them into 1/4-inch strips and draw up beautiful designs to hook the rugs. My Papa made her a custom 'hook' out of an old nail and a carved piece of wood. I am blessed to have 2 of her rugs. She would dye the pieces of wool to make different colors she needed for her designs. Well, the feed sacks got me reminiscing, I love your videos and always am thrilled when you have one, since we don't get to see too often. Excited to see what you use your finds in. Best wishes, Suzie
What a great haul! Wish we had the Sewing Basket here in the UK 😁 Those new fabrics would definitely soften up once you wash them and tea dye them to make them more to your style ❤ That William Morris Strawberry Thief fabric is my fave 😍 (PS Bonne aimie means 'good friend' x)
Near me old fabrics are pretty much impossible to get. I do order some stuff off Etsy. But that is getting more and more expensive. So lately I do a combination of Etsy, garage sales, and estate sales. Our thrift stores literally almost never have anything. I do haunt them though. Occasionally finding a nice wool, linen, or lace piece of clothing. But usually the lace is not anything I would use. So I pass. Occasionally a curtain or drape. I do buy all my picture frames from thrift shops for things I make and decide to frame. I can do all kinds of things to them to make them look nice. And I love vintage frames. So I look for them.
Wow! Greetings from middle Georgia, USA 🍑🇺🇸. The second item, (lace) that you showed, is also part of my stash. Just so random but it blew me away to see it! 🤍✌️
