Yet another super video Graham. Couldn't get to the show this year, first one I have missed in years, so good to be able to have a "look around". Please don't blow your engine on one of our track days though - its just too expensive!
When I worked for BL (as a student in Canada) in the mid-1970s I recall scrapping a lot of parts we were no longer going to stock. I wish I had that scrap bucket full now. It was a great place to work, one of the best jobs I ever had.
I worked for the remains of BL as a student as well (early 80s, I was witness to the end). my MG dealership did same, still saddens me bc now I have an MG/Triumph shop and a show cond. 72 BGT. I could use all that lost stuff 😢
@@forestghost7 I have a cousin who had an MG TD. When we were scrapping I saved him a box of oil dipsticks with MG on the handle I figured he could use them as BBQ skewers. We scrapped a lot of good stuff.
Excellent - thanks for your comment. Its the first show for a while that I HAVEN'T bought a steering wheel - settled on the Motolita in the end - not cheap but lovely quality and british made!
Ive heard it saud rhat you could potentially buy enough parrs to build a new MGB from scratch. 😅 I only wish thatvwere the case dir my 90's French car which is becoming increasingly difficult to source certain parts for.
Thanks for your comment - I reckon that MGOC spares could probably supply almost everything including new bodyshells, Ivor Searle engines and all the other bits!
Thanks for your comment - this is an annual event, but the Restoration Show is the next show like this with lots of trade stands - NEC in Birmingham 22-24 March - www.necrestorationshow.com/
@@forestghost7 I remember MGB's here Australia when they were brand spanking new, beautiful purring motor with that MGB exhaust note, my best friend bought one and we would go for long drives in it, I could not believe it when they folded, but Britain was a basket case destroyed by the Socialists, how that country pays its way is beyond comprehension
Thanks for your comment - yes, I noticed that on the website when I booked... its a strange venue not having a cashpoint, but I did notice that a lot of sellers accepted cards...
Thanks for your comment - not sure what engine builders are on the US east coast - if anyone knows a good engine shop there, I'll happily pass on the details!
@@classicperformanceltd Hello there! Very well. Just bookmarking reputable engine rebuilders in case I will need you in the future. My engine is good right now. She's a '72 MGB. I like what you guys do as far as different packages. I'd be looking for a mild performance upgrade and longevity for any future rebuild. It's a street cruiser. No racing with my B. Thanks.
Can’t wait for your feature on RMO 699F - that’s a special car!
Thanks for your comment - it truly is an historic car! I'm in touch with the owner and we're planning something when the weather gets better!
Really enjoying your channel - very informative and entertaining - bravo!
Thanks so much - your comment is really appreciated!

Hi Nigel - if I do blow the engine, I could upgrade to a fast road one, or even a V8!!!
@@ClassicMGB well that is certainly true! Powerrrrrrrr!!!

Thanks for your comment - its often the way - what's rubbish a while ago becomes someone's treasure a few decades later!
Great video
Thanks for your comment - always appreciated!
Sadly I couldn't get what I needed, but I did get a banjo steering wheel!

Hey look, Britain used to make things once.
I remember . Now stuck in USA but I grew up in 70s UK, near Keswick Cumbria. My 1st dream car was an MGB GT, and now I've had one for 22 yrs 😊
