There are definitely not a bunch of machinimas, smps and let's plays that take full advantage of that game and build a pretty well-written story using it...right?
I'm only a couple minutes in, but the red flags with this project are fucking GLOWING. Their Kickstarter goal was only $10,000. Which probably wouldn't even cover a month of maintenance after the game is finished. A fully-destructible and also consistent world is a terrible idea for an MMO, since that's practically the only way to guarantee EVERY player gets griefed. "I was working at Google, Facebook, and Apple, and left to work on DreamWorld". Even if he misspoke and didn't mean that he worked for three companies at the same time, the fact that he namedrops three extremely big and familiar companies for credit without specifying what he even did when working for those companies makes it seem like he was just making it up. Also, who the fuck has the credentials to nail three big tech jobs, but quits for A KICKSTARTER PROJECT THAT'S ONLY ASKING FOR TEN GRAND?!
You should really take a look into Dual Universe. I wouldn't say its a GOOD game, but it is a game and it has a fully destructive consistent world. It has an extensive rights system to prevent griefing.
Like a programmer with such jobs would need 65k from kickstarter to start his own project... It should just be a couple months worth of savings for him.
"The Last Game You'll Ever Play" That's cause this game is like the video tape from The Ring. Except instead of a ghost in a well, the devs show up at your door and blast you in the face.
The main objective of the game is to give you sore eyes, motion sickness and cerebral cancer as quick as possible. The winner will get free chemo for a month
nah man the game's just so bad it'll make you give up gaming entirely. I only watched this video and almost don't want to play anything out of association of it being a game now
Both developers were stalked to death, and it looks like he did worked at Google as an intern at some point. Some redditor said he worked with him and he was a complete narcissist. Zach is also clearly one too if you watch his ex-fiancee's video. I'm just waiting for both of them to start throwing each other under the bus when it is all over.
I'm 95% convinced that it's a money laundering scam at heart. Put money into the kickstarter, kickstarter succeeds, "refund" investors under the table. Wham, you've got clean money right there. Any other idiots who buy in to the game is just a bonus.
even yandere dev was able to make a game with goal or things to do even if barly anything was finished heck for the MEME forms alone he put in the game makes yandere is far better then these two cause the sans and saitama forms were actually cool and funny to use
@@wilmagregg3131 Indeed, I always personally think it's important to distinguish between Scammers (these guys who just want money for nothing), Scum (yandere dev who just wants a product for nothing and validation despite discrediting the work of others) The Overworked (the CD project red, or Fallout 76 employees told by the moronic management to crunch for all eternity in order to get a decent product), and the incompetent (No Man's Sky developers before they pulled off the 1/1,000 miracle that was that games comeback).
Hello mr obvious
You should really take a look into Dual Universe. I wouldn't say its a GOOD game, but it is a game and it has a fully destructive consistent world. It has an extensive rights system to prevent griefing.
@@Vitorruy1 sometimes its good to bring Mr obvious in and have him compile a list of all the issues so I don't have to think them up myself

That's cause this game is like the video tape from The Ring. Except instead of a ghost in a well, the devs show up at your door and blast you in the face.
The main objective of the game is to give you sore eyes, motion sickness and cerebral cancer as quick as possible. The winner will get free chemo for a month

he didnt say what department he worked on. for all we know he could have worked as security or janitor.
He probably did outsourced work under the leadership of someone legitimate, it at all
Or maybe he was a junior or an intern and those companies simply didnt hire him after his internship/probation period :)
They dug into his past, half truth, he was super low level and hated
I don't get why people are mad, the game looks exactly as shitty as the trailer. Everyone that put money into it is just reaaally special.
Yeah I'm not sure it even counts as a scam because the bar was so low that the delivered product seems to actually fit.
I'm 95% convinced that it's a money laundering scam at heart. Put money into the kickstarter, kickstarter succeeds, "refund" investors under the table. Wham, you've got clean money right there. Any other idiots who buy in to the game is just a bonus.

Not gonna lie I get suspicious when a kickstarter game asks for a ridiculous amount.
I mean for example one person made Underrail, Minecraft, Spelunky, Stardew Valley and a bunch of other games were made by a single person, granted most of these are single player but it is possible.
@@Relhio You don’t seem to understand, there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between those games and an MMO - the cost of an MMO alone is enough to signify this. If the investors actually knew jack sh*t then they wouldn’t have invested into this because an MMO at MINIMUM needs tens of millions and much more to even think about being conceived. 64k is literally a rain drop into an ocean for an MMO which is why it’s so easy to catch that this is a scam.

and the creators figured "Alright, these people are dumber than we expected, might as well keep the money."
Re: bad Kickstarter-funded gemes
You clearly haven't heard of Project Wingman. Earned its goal and actually delivered an experience people like. A precious diamond in the rough.

Project Wingman started because some years ago the future of Project Aces and Ace Combat was not looking good so a guy literally wanted to create an Ace Combat on steroids and oh boy he did it. I love it. A true "Fine, i'll do it myself" moment.
Thank you for telling us about Project Wingman. Me and my roommate are long-time fans of Ace Combat, since Five, to be precise. This looks really cool, and you can actually use the gun?! Stellar!
Ayyy Project Wingman! I did bug hunting for the game throughout development and it was awesome to see it succeed, they absolutely deserve it. Fantastic game, and for $25 it's an absolute steal. Easily a $60 game
same can be said about Hollow Knight
Garrison should also mention that he's worked at target, walmart *and* wholefoods as well. As a janitor.
in response to the person who said "it's only 64k, why are so many people covering this", the two creators Charlie watched (Josh Strife Hayes and KiraTV) cover mmos. This is a new mmo scandal, and one that had more developments than most scandals, as most scammy devs try to shut the hell up and run, or at least try to look legit. These devs did neither.
Agreed, although of course it’s interesting so they make more content on it, they are growing youtubers who literally talk about mmos. This is both their specialty and their niche. Plenty of their content covers regular games but they call out bad ones and scams too. Also josh strife hayes is full of british sass, is a really good speaker.
"It's only 64K" the person who said that is either naïve as shit or rich
@@podurt2557 Nah, it's 64k of idiots' money. It's like when Trump scams his followers. Yeah it's wrong, but like... who cares? It's not like we can forcefully save them from themselves. Caring is a waste of everyone's time; the idiots don't listen and everyone else knows better.
Those people only care about themselves that is why they don't care if the dev try to scam other people all they think about is to attack UA-cam content creator
@@podurt2557 Difference between one organization and an entire subculture, but explaining things in UA-cam comments is like trying to lead a horse to water and make it drink.
"We want to create a game with the most freedom imaginable"
Second Life move over, Dreamworld is about to smack you the heck down.
This is basically just Minecraft without cubes
Don’t do Minecraft like that man
@@plxceh0lder yea minecraft is godlike compared to this scam
@@plxceh0lder 😂 Minecraft without cubes and laws of nature. Even they exist in Minecraft I’m sure
And without the fun
