R.I.P. Ron Cephas Jones, who has passed away at the age of 66 due to a long-standing pulmonary issue, please spread some love and heartfelt condolences to his family. Throughout the course of his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.
The Train was a wonderful way for Rebecca to see her life play out. I loved how William was her guide. Then her talk with Dr. K. They played a big part in her life so I thought it was a perfect fit to say goodbye to them as well. I loved how Beth told her that not to worry, she’s got it from here in taking care of Randall. I also liked how Sophie and Toby got to say their goodbyes and leave it to Toby to say something funny. Then seeing Kevin and Randall with their younger selves. That was so sweet. I was hoping we’d get to see them again before it ended. Rebecca waiting for Kate. And then of course, being reunited with the love of her life, Jack. Her final destination. I feel like Rebecca passed when she closed her eyes and then that’s when we see Jack. I’ve been watching from the beginning, but I think this truly was my favorite episode. It was beautifully done. I was hoping that Miguel had a few more lines tho. He loved her and took great care of her. But it makes sense that maybe he didn’t because he knew Rebecca loved him, but he wasn’t Jack. Ah! I’m gonna miss this show so much
@@enelmartodoesfelicidad If you remember the show, Rebbeca didn't always had a good relationship with William, because he was the biological father to her adopted son Randall, and she was afraid of him trying to reach out to his son. So at the end, it was poetic that in her final journey to the afterlife, William is the "guide on the train" towards the end, and while Rebbeca has holding Randall's hand in the process of dying.
It’s crazy.. The child who was saved instead of Jack goes on to find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease later in life. And the fact that Jack spoke with his father moments before Jack died and he explained the lemons story. Damn, that episode was incredible.
If you go back and watch "The Big Day" (S1 E12), there is this scene where Dr. K is talking to his deceased wife about his day, and recounting telling Jack the lemonade thing. And he says something like (not a direct quote) "I picture that young man as an old man telling that story to a young man having a difficult time" or something. And when the episode originally aired in S1, we know that Jack is dead in the future timeline, but we don't yet know when he dies (we get a hint of that in the next episode "Three Sentences"). Anyway, it's a sad line when Dr. K says it because we soon learn that Jack never becomes an old man. And Boom! There he is, on the last day of this life, speaking those words to a man who needs to hear them. Dr. K's heart's desire is made real. So, so beautiful.
This has been one of the best series I've ever seen Thank you Pearson family for taking us along on your wonderful life journey, what a ride it has been
William is and will undoubtedly remain one of the characters that had the most impact on me from This is Us... He had such a big heart, such goodness and such pure wisdom... And that's why I find It's wonderful that it was him who accompanied Rebecca for the last moments of her life... Once again, he made me cry with a magnificent speech as usual... William I love you forever and ever... Thank you🥺🤍
Last thing I said to my doggie, my beautiful Zoe was thank you, and when William said that if your sad something is ending it must been good, all i could think of was her, my sweet Zoe , I will forever be grateful you were in my life , thank you baby girl
And this is after everything that William has endured in his life. Losing his wife and his child and placing him for adoption. Losing his mother. William was such a brilliant character!
I likely am alone on this hill, but this to me will be the most powerful and beautiful 90 seconds in television history. Bravo, Dan Fogleman. Thank you Ron Cephas Jones.
This episode was so, so exciting, Rebeca's journey, her children in all its stages and her waiting for Kate. William as tour guide. Many emotions and the final chapter remains. Through these years I became a fan and admirer of the Pearson family, what to do now? I'm going to miss you, sad goodbye.
For anyone not familiar with the story, the flashback scene where Rebecca glances at a plastic bag while driving was when she had left the hospital where Jack had died and his things had been placed in that bag.
It would have been nice if it was Miguel guiding Rebecca through the train up until the caboose where Jack was waiting for her. Sort of like Miguel giving Rebecca back to Jack in the afterlife.
"the way i see it, if something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening. truth be told, i've always felt it a bit lazy to just think of the world as sad, because so much of it is, because everything ends, everything dies, but if you step back... if you step back and look at the whole picture, if you brave enough to allow yourself the gift of a really wide perspective, if you do that you'll see that the end is not sad rebecca, it's just the start of the next incredibly beautiful thing."

This hit me real hard when I watched this scene and the whole episode.
Butters from South Park also hit this shit hard 🎉
How wonderful William taking Rebecca on her last journey. Thank you for making these past 6 years an amazing ride.
I swear, if only it is like this in real life. Wouldn't it be great if we all got a crossover coach/mentor to make our transition beutiful?!
“The way I see it, if something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening…” RIP Ron Cephas Jones (William)

The fact that William was her guide is my absolute favorite moment of the entire series.
same here
Why he was her guide?? I don't get it

Honestly one of the best speeches full of hope and inspiration in a crazy world we live in. What show this has been.
It truly is. And only William could’ve delivered it in this epic manner.
@@Keithbryan252 well, he is a wise owl after all
William really delivered Morgan Freeman vibes here. Solid acting.
I love how when William died the family took a walk and now he's walking Rebecca when she's dying 🥲

@@melanophore oh my goodness, thank you for pointing out that connection and adding another layer to this beautiful line.
The whole show is amazing.
One more life lesson from our beloved William he’s a true gem touched us all in ways we can’t explain🦋
this episode was on another level. cried a million times
Ikr I couldn't watch and had to skip it because it was making me cry...
If this show taught me anything it’s that when it’s time to go remember what you’re leaving remember the beautiful things in your life
Brilliant end for 2 amazing characters. Thanks for this incredible journey over the past 6 years.
This has been one of the best series I've ever seen
Thank you Pearson family for taking us along on your wonderful life journey, what a ride it has been
this whole episode was beautiful. there was no better person to say these words to Rebecca than him
I keep replaying this scene such a great life lesson

And hits even harder today. RIP Ron Cephas Jones. What a magnificent legend.

For me This is us is the greatest (and the most underrated) TV show of all time so far.
Wow there is William speech in this episode. They bring him at the end. I just love it
Awesome show thanks for the amazing 6 years you all did great
The writers once again showed their brilliance in formatting the episode this way. I am going to miss this show so much.

Chills. Beautiful words
These words have helped me tremendously …
Rest In Peace 😢
RIP Sir❤
This little speech has changed my perspective and my life.
Ron clearly had lost weight to play William being sick in season one, his face is so much fuller and healthier here
You know who shoulda been on that train? Jack & Rebecca’s late son Kyle who died at birth
I cried sooo hard at this scene
Como lo extrañé 💕
I don't want it to end!!!
Ahhhh I just wish this clip started where she says “This is quite sad, isn’t it? The end.”
Nice job 👏👍👌😀🙌😄
Rest in Peace
Rip sir❤
It would have been nice if it was Miguel guiding Rebecca through the train up until the caboose where Jack was waiting for her. Sort of like Miguel giving Rebecca back to Jack in the afterlife.
Oh that would of been gd ...
This was Rebecca’s way of perceiving her passing so it was the way that made the most sense to her.
That would’ve been nice too. But I’m glad we got to see William.
That would have been very sweet but I love how they did it to
Right?! Sure you weren't at the writing table? 😏

Interesting video ☺️ sweet . Sad happy

What’s the composition playing?
Was I the only one who couldn't watch this ep and had to skip it because it was too emotional and sad ?
Who is this Dr. Brooks?
What is the melody?
Siddhartha Khosla - For Joyce (The Train)
Is that doctor Deja’s son?!
No, he had the car accident the same night jack died. Around 1998
No
Just watch the episode.
Easy to be call dad … only they share is the skin colour.
William is the one character I can’t like. I don’t know, he’s just so annoying and overly present
Love that saying so much! “If something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening.” 🥹❤️
