The reason they say Udon doesn't taste is because they aren't eating it right. You need to slurp and make noise eating Udon, so it tastes
I can't stand this udon slander but at the same time I think my take would be even hotter because my favorite is soba. Still I like all Japanese-style noodles pretty much equally, it's just that I can eat soba with nothing else and I'm still satisfied.

I think she prefer cleaner taste not because the food is greasy or salty but because the taste was too heavy for her, eq for those people can't take spicy food not even chilli sauce.
that's very true. i really don't like spicy food (besides one snack) and i prefer foods that have a lighter taste
Well there's chintan (clear soup) ramen and chicken stock ramen which are not heavy or greasy at all. To me that is better than something like udon. If I have udon, I need to pair it with some egg, shrimp or meat to balance the taste.
@@SpecJack15 Udon doesn't necessarily only mean a clear broth. I'm partial to Curry Udon.
yeah based on the fact she says she prefers instant noodles over ramen. It's obvious that it is definitely not because of the salt levels.
@@brendanmystery Yes, I definitely love curry udon but Emily's point was made about the usual soup udon.
I have never had proper ramen, much less udon, but I definately wanna try out both. Also takoyaki, it always looks so delicious in photos.

I do wanna try Udon and proper ramen, but what's the difference between Soba, Tsukemen, and Some in terms of taste and are they good?
I can understand that she wants light ramen, but there IS light ramen to get! Don't get Tonkotsu (By the way, spicy Tonkotsu ramen is so freaking good)!! Don't just default to instant ramen! I've had udon before and I have it once in a while. Either beef sukiyaki or curry udon.
Also when it comes to eating takoyaki, I would just poke a hole in them so the steam comes out and then eat it once its cooled down a bit. That way, I don't burn my mouth and it's still warm once I eat each piece.

6:07 Hundred percent agree with that, everytime I ask for like mustard or pickles to be taken off my burger, I can still heavily taste either ingredient and it just make my whole (usually night) worse

Tsukemen is legit better than ramen. It’s like ramen but all the best parts enhanced beyond the impossible.
I’d like anything that’s Japanese I never tried the other types of food but I want to try them so bad I always wanted to go to Japan
LOL been waiting for your reaction video to this one. I shouldn't have been eating when I first saw this video, I almost spitted my food out because I was laughing so much. It was the part when Emily preferred instant ramen to regular ramen lol.
I feel like I am the only one who LOVES strawberry ice cream. Granted, it's not my fav flavor (Pistachio is), but it's Top 5 at least. I definitely prefer it to Chocolate and Vanilla. Here's my hot take Chocolate is overrated and vanilla is boring lol (shields up). I like them, but their bottom tier. Let's see what are my Top 5 Ice Cream flavors-
1. Pistachio
2. Pecan Praline
3. Amaretto
4. Strawberry
5. Coconut
I am not super picky when it comes to food. I can't handle anything spicy that's for sure. I have only tried udon and soba noodles out of the ones mention and I do prefer soba because it has more flavor. My fav type of noodles in general are rice noodles (I am an avid rice fanatic). Like my fav meal of all time is pad thai. I WISH I could have more ginger in my diet but my mom hates the stuff so we never get it.
I'm not sure if this is irrelevant or not, but for me, I personally like ice cream that are from H.E.B. I don't know why, but H.E.B brand ice cream is just so good in my opinion, my favorite flavors are Cookies Over Texas and Texas Starry Night (which is like chocolate ice cream with brownie bits in there)
@@fighterx9840 LOL I am Texan so I know what brand you're talking about. My mom got the Texas Starry Night recently and she thought it was too much chocolate, which is funny because she is the chocoholic in the family.

Same. I don't understand why people are so heated about pizza. Pineapple on pizza, eating pizza with a knife and fork, folding the pizza, all are weirdly controversial.
To be honest, Yuzu tasting (smelling) like lemon pledge is a lot better than it tasting like other things like bleach or vinegar-based cleaners. Its not that bad in comparison.
That's kinda like saying getting Covid's not as bad as getting Ebola.

Ever since I made my previous comment, I at one point found a new place to try in my local area that sold gelato and coffee. Being the type of person who always likes to try new things, I tried gelato that had goat cheese in it. It was pretty good lol. I recently found out I like goat cheese because I had it on a pizza when I was out of town this Summer in Virginia. Now it'll not be in my fav list, but I did finish the whole thing. I definitely will go back to that location though, because the gelato was very creamy lol. Never had gelato before too and always wanted to try it.

I'm not gonna lie but I think Udon is good HOWEVER I've never had any athentic Udon noodle soup before so I can't really form an opinion. I do love ramen though. I am Asian American, born in Thailand and yes we do have a huge obsession with coconut. Plus if you like spicy foods then Thailand is the place to go! no kidding. When you land in cities like Bangkok, Chang Mai, etc you will get assaulted by fresh fish and very chilli peppery aroma and it may or may not clean your sinuses! it could be that strong. In fact some spicy thai dishes will feel like a slap to your face!
